  1. The worst is when someone is sitting on them, and the operator keeps asking them to get down. They don't hear the op and therefore are still sitting on the handrail; the op keeps repeating theirself. It's just annoying.
  2. Leaning in with turns is what I meant by bracing, sorry. I try and it helps a little. I've tried in every row of the ride and the best (least worst) is the very back (last row). It pulls you over the hill and that makes for a great part of the ride.
  3. In my opinion, it is in fact way too hyped up by many people (especially by CP fans). Many people think too much of it like it's the best thing in the world. I'm a 5'10" 125lbs guy. So I don't know if that plays a role in why the coaster hurts so much but it does. It hurts me, my sisters, my dad (who is 6'0" and 200+lbs). It has too much head-banging, whip-lash parts (two specifically bad parts), and is overall just not a fun ride. The only part that is fun is the launch in the tunnel; after that it's back to not being fun. I've been told that you just have to know how to 'brace' yourself for the turns and such. Trust me, I do and it doesn't work. I do in fact know how to 'ride' coasters, especially wooden ones. That's the reason why I really enjoy Mean Streak. If you correctly know how to ride Mean Streak, you know how to correctly ride almost any coaster. People have gotten in fights over how Maverick is good or not. People have different opinions. My favorite coaster is Millennium Force and some people hate that coaster; to me that's fine. I'm not looking to argue; I'm looking for opinions.
  4. In some opinions, Maverick is a good coaster. In MY opinion, that statement is a dumb statement.
  5. It was only a joke, since they bought out Kings Island and Kings Dominion. It feels like they are trying to make them all the same park.
  6. Since when is there a pinball museum?! I do like pinball; it's just not the BEST game out there.
  7. Who saw Contagion? Honestly, it wasn't too good of a movie in my opinion. It just didn't have too good of a catch.
  8. If I could remember any I would certainly post them here.
  9. ^ What the heck are you staring at?! < I actually do hate those noodles. v Spends too much time on TPR.
  10. Dumbest things said on TPR..."Maverick is a great coaster."
  11. My avatar is a track shot of Firehawk at Kings Island, formally known as X-Flight at Geauga Lake (just thought I had to add that last part). I'm always a sucker for track shots.
  12. The Back to the Future series is definitely the best. I don't know which of the three is the best; they are all too good.
  13. Buying the item back at the value that it's really worth. What's worse than getting your eyes torn out of your head?
  14. You might be a coaster nerd if...as you are driving to a park, as soon as the park is in view the ONLY thing you stare at is one coaster until you see a train moving on it JUST to make sure that the coaster is running that day.
  15. Apparently Kings Island is open from 11am to 1am on Saturdays and Cedar Point is open 12pm to 12am. Anyone know why there is a two hour difference between the two?
  16. Let's just hope Cedar Fair doesn't buy out this Paramount park and start making it into just like every other one of its parks...
  17. Does anyone think that some of the Halloweekends attractions can be changed up a bit? In my opinion, the two attractions that need to be updated (changed) for next year are Club Blood and Fear Faire. Club Blood is a good space for a haunted house and it is currenlty an alright haunted house but especially last year and again this year, it's really loosing its 'scare'. The theming is rather dull and it's just not the best haunted house. Fear Faire is also a great space for a haunted walk-through and I think it just needs to be updated or changed to a different walk-through. Like Club Blood, the theming is pretty dull and there's just not a whole lot there. I really think they can do so much better with different theming. It had a good run and I think it's time for a change. What do you think about them? If not these two, what other haunted attractions do you think need to be changed/updated at the park for next season?
  18. All the haunted walk-throughs open at 8:00pm, so that's why CornStalkers wasn't open yet. All the 'Ride Closed' signs say 'Due to Weather Conditions' on it which I really don't know why. So even if the reason for the ride being closed isn't because of the weather, about 50% of the time (in this case it wasn't), it says because of the weather. It is rather misleading. As for all the water rides being closed for the season, I know they don't operate Thunder Canyon during Halloweekends because of CornStalkers and who would want to get completely soaked on Snake River Falls in October?! As for Shoot the Rapids, my friends and I went on Shoot the Rapids last year on the second last Saturday of the season (Oct. 23rd); it suprisingly wasn't too cold of a day. So this year I don't know if they plan on keeping the ride closed for the rest of the season or if you just caught it at an off time. I will say that I've been to Halloweekends every Saturday so far this year and every time that I've passed Shoot the Rapids (which hasn't been too often) I don't remember seeing it open (maybe once but I can't remember for sure).
  19. I've only been to Halloweekends at Cedar Point this year and unfortunately it'll probably be the only thing I do this season. It's alright though; I've been to it in previous years and it is rather enjoyable.
