  1. Approximately how many people attend Coastermania each year?
  2. Yep, heard that from the Dippin Dots guy! OH MY GOSH ME TOO!!! I had to confirm it with the Chick-fil-a guy. So it's definitely true.
  3. Yep, heard that from the Dippin Dots guy!
  4. ^ Those commercials did annoy me quite a lot.
  5. I fully agree. To someone like me, it's very easy to tell which footage is from the park they are advertising and which is not; mainly Cedar Point. I understand that it may be 'stock footage' but still, come on.
  6. ^ The first time I went on them, I was unaware of how much airtime they had. It scared the crap out of me; after that though, I loved them.
  7. Out of all the slides at Soak City, those were probably my favorite.
  8. My thinking is, why couldn't they just build a bridge that is high enough to make room for the Paddlewheel boats to go under? I know that wouldn't necessarily work though because of people in wheelchairs and such. Even though they could've built a ramp on the side to get the wheelchairs to the bridge, they weren't going to do that. I'm just thinking out loud here of useless possibilities.
  9. Since Paddlewheel Excursions is no more, I would assume that they made a permanent bridge.
  10. I am going to miss Paddlewheel; looks strange without it on the new park map.
  11. Many people say that STR is a coaster...but it's not...
  12. My latest short film; let me know what you think.
  13. ^ I always use Screamscape; it's very reliable IMO.
  14. The only reason why I mentioned the GL thing in the first place is because people asked why many people don't like him. That's one of the reasons why. That's it, end of story. Back to talking about Cedar Point. That's completely understandable. It would still be cool IMO to see something along the lines of Disney-like theming in the park.
  15. I couldn't have said it better myself!
  16. I 100% agree. While I do enjoy family oriented attractions, thrill rides are what I really enjoy. It makes sense, however, that Matt would bring in more family rides rather than thrill rides. Honestly though, I really do enjoy Disney rides because of their theming. If Matt brought in rides with theming like Disney attractions, I'd be a happy camper. I'm not saying that I want him to turn Cedar Point into a Disney park, I'm just saying that if he builds more family rides I would be content if they were well themed.
  17. To quickly answer your question, I definitely do take advantage of living only 80 miles away from Cedar Point (compared to other people which is much farther) but in this case it doesn't matter to me, I still really enjoyed my home park.
  18. It's funny how I state one thing to answer a question and then say that I didn't want to start any arguments...yet people seem to still start them. Anyways, I am also excited to see what Matt has in store for the company.
  19. One of the main reasons why I stopped liking Mr. Kinzel is because he made the final decision to close down my home park (Geauga Lake). Some of you probably knows what it feels like to have your home park close down. I'm not saying this to start another debate about anything or to get into any arguments. I'm just saying that there are reasons, like this one, of why people don't like him.
  20. Everyone can moan and complain how Mean Streak is bad and blah blah blah but bottom line is that they won't get rid of Mean Streak for minimum of 5 years. I want them to tear down Mantis but hey, they won't do that either.
  21. ^ I don't know if I just have a tolerance for rough coasters or not, because I liked SoB too when I rode it back in 2007; I didn't find it all that rough.
  22. Most people need to realize that Cedar Point is not going to tear down Mean Streak any time soon. If they are planning on tearing it down soon, why would they be going to these great lengths to re-track a lot of the track? It's not just 'seasonal maintenance' because seasonal maintenance is just fixing something here or there, not a big bulk of track at one time like what they are currently doing. While many people would like Cedar Point to tear down Mean Streak, the reality is that the coaster is staying for a while. Even if they did tear down Mean Streak, think about it this way. Between tearing down Mean Streak and building a new coaster in its place, it would take about what? 2 full years to complete? That means Cedar Point's coaster count would go down by one and that would most certainly start a riot about how SFMM would have more and blah blah blah.
  23. Apparently you didn't ride Mean Streak last season then because where they did the re-tracking for last year is really noticeable. If they keep this up, the whole coaster should be pretty smooth.
  24. ^ I agree about the transformation.
  25. That is what I was talking about; they are replacing more track like they did for last season. It really is noticeable (both visually and while riding) of where they did it.
