Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coastermaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm heading up to The Point this weekend for the last weekend of operation; I might be there all three days (Fri Sat Sun) but I'm not sure yet. Anyone else planning on heading up there this weekend as well? -

IF they do it (which I still hope they don't), I hope they just limit it to certain coasters, limit it to a certain amount of people per day, and limit how many times you can ride a coaster (unlike KI where you can ride it and get back in line as many times as you want). -

I actually laughed at this, but that is true. If you do that, then you should be surprised if they aren't long. -

Any time of the year you can expect longer lines on a Saturday than any other day of the week. However in early September, Fridays shouldn't be too bad but Sundays they can get kind of long because it's still the weekend (at least for MF, TTD, and Mav.). Magnum usually doesn't get too long of a line at any given time. -

^ While I have never ridden The Beast during Halloween Haunt, I have ridden it at night and it certainly an excellent ride; dark and 'eerie' haha. -
My latest video; just thought I'd share!

Right when GL closed in September, they started dismantling Dominator to transfer it (like literally the next week) so I don't know you mean by "wasn't operating". (just thought I'd throw that out there) As far as Maverick's line, it usually is about the same all day (over an hour). On a good day, Magnum won't have much of a line (if any). Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force can very in their line lengths. I guess it just depends on that specific day. -

I rode Batman (yes, I still call it its original name) all the time when it was at Geauga Lake. It usually always rode smooth and it was always a good ride. I, too, liked how long the course was. -

Well since they're doing a rehab on Mean Streak over the winter (hence why it's been closed since late September) hopefully it won't be as rough; even though personally I don't find it to be rough. -

I would have to say Kongfrontation and Back to the Future at Universal Studios Orlando. -

Now that I understand what an "Intamin Rattle" is, I don't think Millennium Force has it; it stays relatively smooth through the whole ride. Back when Dominator was still at GL, I don't recall that have that bad of a rattle; maybe in a few parts but not a whole lot. As far as Diamondback goes, that has quite a lot of rattle to it. I rode it 15 times in a day in late July this summer in many different seats and it seems to "rattle" in the same spots. -

^ I could tell; especially on that last turn before the brake run. It looked like it was pulling a Dragster sometimes (barely making it over). -

That's interesting. I've been on that ride many times and I can tell about how fast it should be going over every hill and over-banked turn. When I was there on Saturday, it was very windy but they opened up the coaster anyway. It was moving dramatically slower over the crests of the hills and turns than usual. In all the times I've seen the coaster in action (I've been to CP 23 times this year alone) it was the slowest I've seen it moving...ever. -

I feel stupid because I should know what that is(being a TPR, roller coaster junkie) but what the heck is an Intamin Rattle? -

I've been told that I-305 is a combination of Millennium Force and Maverick. Not having the chance to ride it yet, it has the opportunity to be extremely good (MF part) or extremely bad (Maverick part). -

I really do want to get to another park for the Halloween season besides CP. KI is the next closest park. It sounds like it is pretty cool. I know they have great rides, so I want to see for myself if they have great haunts too.
