  1. Even more importantly, according to ME, MF is no longer the best steel roller coaster! (And this is coming from one of the biggest MF fans there is!)
  2. Thanks to everybody for the feedback! We are definitely locked into a Friday night, and I went on that night last year in mid-October, and it wasn't TOO bad crowd wise. I was just wondering if the 23rd would be busier than the 7th, for any particular reason. I'd prefer to go that date myself, if it isn't going to be busier than the later date. Maybe I will see you there, CoasterRench! That would be fun!
  3. ^Did you ride it since the re-tracking of the ending helix? I was impressed by how much smoother it was last year after that had been done! Now, I find the trick-track part on the return to be the only really rough part, though back rows and the rear of the train still are definitely "rougher" than the front.
  4. So, I'm planning a trip back to KI during Haunt season (not for Haunt, but rather for awesome night rides on their coasters!), and wanted to check with the regulars regarding typical crowd expectations. I know Haunt crowds tend to get worse as it gets closer to Halloween, but I've also heard at some of them, they are really bad the first weekends in September as well. Is that true here at KI? Right now my two dates I'm looking at are both Friday nights, either the 23rd of September, or the 7th of October. Which do you think will be less crowded? Thanks for any and all input!
  5. That's rock solid for a park of this nature. But like I said earlier, it doesn't matter what the attendance was because they were going to get closed no matter what. THIS.
  6. Did you ride it in the front seat? If not, you missed out big time. We rode once in the front and once towards the back and the differences were amazing. Front seat all the way while riding the pine, baby! THIS! Front seat on Shivering Timbers is definitely the way to go to get maximum enjoyment out of that coaster! I've never had a "meh" experience riding it there yet!
  7. I posted this impression of my recent trip to Waldameer (for my Birthday!) in the Underrated Parks thread, because I wasn't sure if there was a Waldameer thread, but now that I know there is, I'll put it here instead! What a great little park! Everybody who praised it in the Underrated Parks thread was spot on! I enjoyed a number of the flats, as well as the fun and quirky Pirate's Cove and Wacky Shack! With apologies to coasterbill, I did not ride the flume, even though I was interested in it... I'll definitely go back sometime, and I'll be sure to hit that, and the Music Express, which I also missed. But the two stand-outs: That crazy, scary, scream-heavy drop tower X-Scream - are you kidding me??? It's been since my early days riding Demon Drop, since I've felt that freaked out on a drop ride! Holy frick!!! And of course, Ravine Flyer II! What an absolutely amazing, fantastic, and world-class coaster! From the view at the top of the lift, to the awesome tunnels, to the bridge over the highway, to airtime galore all over the place, to its unrelenting nature, to the 90 degree turn (cue the TPR video of RFII!), and to night rides on it, which were a Top 5 night experience on a coaster! It's now in my Top 10 overall, and a Top 3 wooden coaster for me! It's not quite as good as its bigger cousin The Voyage, but is at least a little more accessible for a larger amount of people, since it's not as "intense". BTW, I rode Ravine Flyer 3, and it was SO embarrassing, since there was nobody else on it over 10 it appeared, and all the adults/parents were standing off to the side waiting for their kids, just staring at me. Even the ride op was clearly suppressing laughter the whole time, with the most bemused smile on his face. Having said that, it's a very legit kiddie coaster, and actually quite fun to ride! I love the setting over the water, circling the fountain, too! Having said that, I will NOT be getting on it again, unless one of my kids is with me, since I can't take all that judgmental staring again! Here is a picture of me enjoying it, in all of my ridiculous, enthusiast glory! Oh, the shame! Waldameer was a great park experience, and it was definitely a worthy place to spend my Birthday! Riding Ravine Flyer II is one of the best Birthday presents a coaster-lover could ask for!
  8. I would love to know how you got that number. Sure I can walk you through it. #1 is SDC which has been basically confirmed in every sense other than an official press release #2 is SFSTL which will more than likely be adding their 4D Free Fly this year #3 is WOF I actually think this is a very reasonable, and likely estimation as well! WoF is the only one I'm slightly hesitant to expect a coaster from, mostly because they're a CF park not Cedar Point or formerly a Paramount park. But the S&S at SFStL seems very likely, and the SDC coaster is pretty much a certainty. 1. Nothing tells us wether SDC's is coming 2017 or 2018. 2. We thought for certain we were getting the Freespin in 2017, and look at what happens when we assume. Well, I never thought for certain or assumed SFStL was getting it in 2017, just thought it seemed like a reasonable guess, but down at the bottom of the likely prediction I made. As for SDC, I agree that it'd be nice to see it in 2017, but the lack of any info recently seems to indicate maybe it's going to be 2018. It's kind of like the whole "RMC Streak in 2017 or 2018" debate regarding CP. I'm reluctantly in the camp for the later debut for both CP and SDC.

  10. RMC Mack or Gerstlauer
  11. I think this coaster looks really fun! And in related news, it's yet another smaller coaster type that would be great for MiA, that would totally fit well with their size, and provide nice ROI! But I digress...
  12. No. Have you ever been lucky in love?
  13. 2/10 (Sometimes annoying people can be good for a laugh, so that's why it's not 0/10!) The Broncos starting their Championship defense by beating the Panthers - again!
  14. ^Nice trade! That should work out very nicely for you! I expect Anderson to have a huge season, assuming he stays healthy. Kubiak wants to base his entire offense around the run game, and play action, something he couldn't do well with Manning last year. Now that he's gone, and Siemian is in, he's able to do that. Anderson looked super fast, and agile all night, and should have a lot of big games this season in this system! Don't forget, it's the same system that made Arian Foster a star. I actually had Anderson on the bench for some reason on one of the two teams I own him in, heading into the game, and when I got on last minute to check rosters, realized it, and tried to swap him in for DeMarco Murray, I was literally a couple of seconds too late. I sure hope Murray has a huge game too, or that couple of seconds could have cost me the matchup...
  15. I believe that the person who said he spotted them has now admitted to making this whole thing up unfortunately, he, or someone who saw what he said, may also have submitted the rumor to Screamscape. See, this is why I said I don't like getting excited about rumors...
  16. Future Looks Good - OneRepublic
  17. When I go to get my new SF Membership processed, do I go to the Season Pass center to do so?
  18. Most definitely! Have you ever ridden Wilderness Run?
  19. Well, that's Fantasy Football for you! I have Broncos skill players littering my many Fantasy teams, and yet, their first TD of the season goes to a Fullback nobody owns!
  20. These are the kind of rumors I almost wish I didn't even hear, because they get me so excited for something that may not even have a shred of truth to it! Seriously, a terrain RMC at Kennywood, could be the greatest thing ever! Here's hoping there's fire with this smoke!
  21. ^So, what is the purpose of a Gold Pass line then? Is it just supposed to be a shorter wait, as it's presumably a shorter line?
  22. Oh no... Here's hoping this thread doesn't go Full-SFStL Thread after this!
