Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Outlaw Streak? LOL Ding! Ding! We have a winner! I threw out a couple of names pages ago, but I think they got buried under talk about boats, cranes, or some other silliness... I like "Marauder" for a related, but outside the expected CF name. Also, another "M" name, so there's that! But one I particularly liked, because it kept with the Western them, paid homage to Mean Streak, and is already owned by Cedar Fair (since we know they like re-using names), is Silver Streak. Give that baby silver RMC track, and it'll really look sharp!

The official NFL Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to spaceace12's topic in Random, Random, Random ^Funny... The biggest takeaway I had from the game is that the Texans really screwed up when they paid so much money to an incredibly mediocre QB to lead an otherwise talented team! Additionally, their coaching staff was also WAY too conservative and timid in their game plan early on, and they made some serious Special Teams blunders that handed the game to the Pats early, and often. Don't get me wrong, I'm surprised and impressed that New England has managed to go 3-0 without Brady, and in spite of being a less impressive team on paper in two of those three games. But don't buy the pop narrative too hard when it comes to the Pats... They have been very fortunate to start this way as well, as a missed kick is all that separated them from an "L" in Week 1, and I saw a laughably unprepared, and overrated Texans team tonight hand the game to them on a silver platter. We'll see what happens when they play the best of the rest of the teams in the league, even with Brady. I don't see this team going 16-0, and I will be quite surprised if they win the Super Bowl. But props to them for their start to the season, in spite of adversity! But again, the Texans tonight...

Second Place - Paper Route On a related note, Paper Route's latest album, "Real Emotion" dropped today, and I've been streaming it on Spotifyt non-stop since Midnight (waiting for my signed hard copy to come in the mail today), and it exceeded even my high expectations, based on their previous albums. Seriously, if you love great Indie/Alt./Pop music, you NEED to check this album out! It's brilliant! So many different sounds, textures, and yes, emotions cascade through the 16 amazing tracks!

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! All joking aside, I'm fairly confident neither "Hawk", nor a "Mythical Creature" will be in the name for this, as it's going to have a theme (again, using that word loosely) fitting for Frontier Town. They've already said that this expansion will be to enhance Frontier Town, so I'd be shocked if the name doesn't reflect that.

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! Most of the people who ride Renegade feel the same way, it is not spectacular but a very solid ride fro sure. The thing is not a lot of people make it up this way to ride it otherwise I think you would hear more people say that. Glad you got to enjoy it finally after riding those other GCI's I suspect that if VF were to ever get a big coaster to draw people out there (possibly the long rumored B&M Invert, or an RMC), one of the things that would end up happening as a result is Renegade will finally get the ridership to become more highly regarded.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I like another "M" name for it... Marauder! Also, if we're going with both them "honoring" Mean Streak's name, and also being cheap and saving an additional copyright on the name, how about "Silver Streak", and have the rails be a silver color? It could be "themed" (always a word used loosely at CP) to a silver mine in the old west, honor MS, and would look pretty sharp with the contrast between beige wood, and the silver track! I'm still on the side of a 2018 RMC, primarily due to the marketing angle (and, sand is rapidly slipping through the hourglass.) However, I am not going to rule anything out yet at this point, and I think the most exciting news of the day is simply stone cold confirmation of an RMC coming to CP. I mean, this is a serious hallelujah, people! Oh, in regard to the boat nonsense trying to start again...

I'd love to meet up with some fellow TPR members (and Fantasy Football players, in CoasterRench's case) there for some epic night riding! The official NFL Discussion ThreadDILinator replied to spaceace12's topic in Random, Random, Random ^Actually, that trade was a straight up win for him from the word go! We both had Johnson rated higher than Peterson anyway, and I actually drafted Johnson over him in another league when given the chance. But this was my last draft, and I wanted Peterson on one of my teams, so since Peterson was ranked stupidly high by ESPN, and I knew he wouldn't be there when I drafted, while Johnson likely would be, I simply told Ian if he drafted Peterson, I'd trade him Johnson if I got him. Believe me... That was always going to be a better trade for him than me, barring a Johnson injury. Peterson getting hurt is just icing on the cake! Don't worry about Ian... He's won a Fantasy Football Championship three years in a row! He knows what's up! Caldwell was such a terrible hire from the word "Go"! I don't care how "nice" he is, or whether he can "coach up" QB's... Running a team, he is imbecilic, and that's not an overstatement! Additionally, if I had a dollar for every time he made a statement that literally caused me to face-palm, I'd be a wealthy man...

I haven't been since before the Summer before Sandy, and of course the subsequent fire, but I have fond memories of my visits to Seaside Heights as well! Granted, I probably haven't experienced the worst it has to offer, but it was always a fun place to spend an afternoon while visiting my relatives in Lavalette nearby. I'm excited about the idea of them getting an actual coaster there, and hope that it might be open by my next visit in June!

While taking a break from the larger investments has certainly made sense from a financial, and stability standpoint for SIx Flags, I definitely think they will install 20M coasters again, less liberally, when they are ready. And if they are going to do so, they'll do it in places like SFMM, SFGAdv, and SFGAm. Their largest and highest attended parks, where they're going to get plenty of ROI. And to the fellow who mentioned a Giga up there being more impressive looking than a Dive, you need to realize that you're saying that as an enthusiast. WE are more impressed with Giga coasters. GP will look at that, and say "Hey, it's just like Goliath, only higher!" Now, that's not to say it wouldn't be visually impressive, but from a GP "Oh man! Look at that! It's straight down! So scary!" perspective, a Dive has a lot more of an impact. At least that is what I have observed in regard to the GP response to Valravn.
