You know, I apologize for being an idiot, and failing to realize that they already have a drop tower at BGW! I haven't been in a LONG time, and that addition slipped under my radar. Whenever I heard somebody reference it, I just assumed it was an observation tower! But we are on the same page now, and I will agree that an Intamin Sky Jump seems unlikely at this point!

Once again, I'm bumping this in hopes of finding a couple more people interested in participating in our TPR Fantasy Football league! It looks like the Draft will be tomorrow night, at 9:00 pm EST, so if you want to join, please let me know, and send me your e-mail address ASAP! Here's hoping we can a couple more people join in the fray! -

I think you're right on here. From having been to a number of enthusiast events, and also just being at CP and seeing plenty of the "type", that seems like a pretty fair ratio, honestly. It sounds like a lot of TPR people must have gone up just for the Holiday weekend, because I saw very few people that appeared to be enthusiasts, TPR or otherwise, last Thursday. Of course, I also saw very few people in general, and had short lines all day, so that was nice... If you talk to random people in line, coasterbill, then you're doing better than I am. Even though I'm typically a social person, when at amusement parks, I tend to keep to my own group, and avoid interacting with those around me at all costs. Whenever I'm talking about something park, or coaster related with my group (which isn't annoying to them, because frankly, the reason people WANT to go to CP with me typically, is because I am the "Cedar Point guru" they all know), and I see somebody else nearby listening, or looking like they may want to join in, I'm just like "No! Please no!" in my head, hoping they don't. So, that probably makes me a bit of a pretentious A**, but you just never know what they're like, and whether they're one of the dreaded obnoxious enthusiasts, that will want to talk my ear off the rest of the time in line! Having said that, I would be more than happy to talk to most anybody from this forum, if they are there, and even hang out with them. However, I am about as plain-looking of an average white guy as you'll ever meet, and I rarely post pictures of myself, so the likelihood of: a) anybody from TPR noticing me, and b) anybody from TPR actually giving a rat's behind even if they did recognize me, is extremely small! I'm certainly no TPR celebrity like you, dear bill! (Speaking of which, it would have been nice to meet you, but like ships in the night, it was not meant to be!) Also, speaking of my trip, I need to get off my lazy butt and do a TR here soon, I suppose. I'll even include some pictures! So you all have that to look forward to. Or more than likely, not look forward to. Hey, I'm a realist! (Now, anybody remember TPOL back in the mid-2000's? I was quite popular over there, and still have many good friendships that I made from that group of actually decent - well, at least mostly - enthusiasts!) I'm all for meeting, and getting to know fellow like-minded (and cool acting, and shower taking) enthusiasts, so hopefully in the future, maybe we can have a coordinated group meetup of TPR at CP. Or hey, better yet, come up to Michigan, and slum it with me at MiA! -

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Our tack is typically to get something on the way to the park, which puts us eating mid-morning. Then, by the time we're getting hungry at the park again, it's past the Lunch rush. We then typically don't eat dinner at parks either, but do so after we leave. Thus, we save time waiting in food lines, and money as well! Now, I get that if you have a Dining Plan you're going to want to use it, but then just plan to eat lunch mid-afternoon after the lunch rush, and grab dinner late, after the dinner rush. Otherwise, yeah, you're going to have to wait. I remember grabbing some Fries at CP earlier this year in May, during a busy Lunch time, and it was my longest line of the day. But oh well... That's what I get for not following my typical plan of eating before getting to the park! -
I'm sure this has been suggested before for that spot, but given the fact the BGT has an Intamin Sky Jump, it wouldn't surprise me to see one pop up at BGW over the next few years. Perhaps they could remove Europe in the Air, and its building, and place it there, as it'd certainly fit. Not sure of the theme, other than perhaps a Banshee, though they'd probably add "Screaming Banshee" or "Banshee's Fury", to distinguish it from KI's ride. (And yes, I know the being two entirely different types of ride should be distinguishing enough, but I still suspect they'd elaborate on the name a little.)

I will say this: coaster or not, Pipe Scream has become an every visit ride for me, regardless of who I'm going to CP with! It's really fun! -

Does it make me weird that I read all the negative stuff about the park on here, and it just makes me want to go back to the park more to see if it's possibly that bad, because the last time I went (many moons ago now) I had a really good time??? -
- Parking should be covered by simply showing your voucher for the Membership. Same as with a pass. - As far as I can see, the final weekend is going to be a crapshoot. Normally SFGAm is open till Halloween/Nov. 1 or 2. They've not done the full weekend AFTER Halloween in recent memory. I've seen people mention a "Last Blast" event from 2002 or so and comment how it was an empty park. Not much to gage on for this year however. Normally Fright Fest is VERY crowded on Halloween weekend. Thanks for the response! So, am I correct in understanding that they're not doing the Fright Fest stuff that final weekend then? Or is this simply uncharted territory that we don't know what's going to happen yet? Thanks!

^I saw it, and an invite was just sent! Ok, so that's invites sent to all five of us who have spoken up. Still looking for three more people to join! Please let me know ASAP if you have any interest! I have a son who is an enthusiast in training, more than likely a future TPR member, and who also happens to be quite the young Fantasy Football savant. Three years in a row as a Champion, in two different leagues, the last two years, back-back. He's interested in joining this league, if we're short a team, so we need to still fill 2 spots. If any of you have friends who are even occasional TPR posters, or at least roller coaster (or theme park) enthusiasts, let them know, and see if they're interested in playing. I'm going to suggest we set the Draft for 9:00pm EST this upcoming Wednesday the 7th. It is the last day before the season kicks off with the Broncos/Panthers rematch. So, we should really plan for it that night, at the latest. Let me know if that sounds good to you! -

Is this a new practice this season? I was there last year during Haunt, and they weren't assigning seats on either. I sure hope they (CF) desist with all the seat-assigning nonsense around the chain, as it's not logical, typically, and just needlessly irritates people (all people, GP that care, and enthusiasts alike.) I was very pleased to not see it once during my visit to CP last week, as they suggested a row with Valravn, but let me step to the side to wait for front on it at my request. Nice to see sensible courtesy prevail! -

Yeah, I left it pretty basic, as it is right now. If anybody wants something different, we can discuss once people start really joining. To that end, I have sent off a number of requests for e-mail addresses to those who expressed interest, so be sure to get back to me with those. Also, we need a couple more willing participants, to really make it worth doing as an 8 person league. So again, if anybody else at TPR is remotely interested, please let me know, and PM me your e-mail address! -
So, I bought the Membership on the incredible Flash Sale, and am looking forward to visiting this park again, after a few years' absence! I am planning to go get my card, and process it on either November 5th or 6th, along with bringing my son to utilize the bring a friend free. So here's what I'm wondering... Which of those two days would be better to go? Typically, I'd say Sunday over Saturday, but Sunday IS the last operating day of the season, and it's open an hour less. Anybody who has gone that final weekend of operation previously know what crowds are typically like? Also, I believe I saw in the GAdv thread, that if you show your voucher for the Membership to the Parking attendant, it's good to get you into Parking free. Is that the same here at GAm as well? Last question: Is there any kind of early entry for Gold Passholders (or Membership-holders) at SFGAm? Or do you just enter with everybody else? Thanks to all for any assistance!

This guy at least sees things for what they are! I'll refrain from calling anyone a dickhead today, since I'm not 100% sure this was directed at the moderating team. We don't bash all complaints about CF we bash unreasonable complaints that are repeated constantly in a non- civil manner. Oh, I'm sorry... I wasn't actually thinking of any one person in particular, and certainly not the moderating team as a whole. I have just noticed a STRONG Cedar Fair apologetics vibe on this site, and not just this site, but enthusiast sites in general. I like Cedar Fair a lot, and enjoy their parks, but I certainly call out their flaws as I see them as well, and feel they are given a lot of free passes when it comes to their sometimes questionable decision making... (And I say that from a business, not enthusiast perspective.) Again, I apologize for potentially offending anybody. I wasn't trying to be a dick, to be clear! -

^I wouldn't have as big of an issue with it, if Rougarou wasn't so close nearby with a very similar color scheme. I can't tell you how many times this year, being at CP with people, that we have been in the Valravn area, and they confused part of Rougarou, as being part of Valravn. Going that color route still makes no sense to me, as far as CP in concerned...
