  1. Pft! The Star Flyer is one of the best additions at Cedar Fair this year! Consider yourselves blessed then, that you got something that would rate highly if you were a CF park!
  2. No, he's a snooze fest Not only did he make me miss Jim's Announcement, But he made me miss the Faile Family from Beaver Creek Ohio (Cedar Point's 2014 announcement) This here speaks volumes! That family was very aptly named! As for Duffy, yeah, it wasn't very good, but it was his first year. Hopefully, he'll do better in future years, assuming they let him do it in future years!
  3. This is a picture I took yesterday, though they actually got higher than this later in the day.
  4. GateKeeper went down mid-afternoon yesterday, which is a very rare thing, so I assumed it was for the wind. However, maybe there was a little something more there going on... I think that was the first time I've ever gone and only ridden it once, on one side. Glad you enjoyed Valravn! I always really enjoy my rides on it, and I know the GP are simply eating it up! Yeah, it's not MF or Maverick, but I agree, it was a brilliant addition by CP!
  5. ^As far as I know, it is included, unless they've changed things up this year. I know it has been up to now. I'm also planning on going this year, with that understanding in mind.
  6. ^^It got progressively more windy yesterday as well. It started off pretty windy, and by the end of the day, it got worse, so very little, especially up towards the front of the park, was running. Hopefully you aren't finding many closed coasters today at least. And I'm sure the Red Garter is still open, so getting a drink will be fine! (Though, I actually prefer the place on Frontier Trail, with all the craft beers and the moonshine, myself!)
  7. ^Agreed! I think that makes 5 of us. Halfway to 10, but we do need to draft in the next week. Sounds like ESPN is the way to go!
  8. I came here to mention the water spout at Cedar Point today, and post a picture I took of it, but I see that somebody already beat me to it! I'm friends with the guys who run Cedar Point History, and when one of them saw that photo on my Facebook, they asked to post it on the site's Facebook, and now it's here. The way social media drives things these days is pretty amazing! Thanks to all who have complimented the shot! The funny thing is, when I took it quickly (as the water spout was moving rapidly left to right), with my crappy cell phone camera, I zoomed in only a little, because the picture quality diminishes quickly, and felt disappointed with how it turned out, and only reluctantly posted it, just because it was such a crazy occurrence. Between the many "likes" and "Wows" on my own Facebook, the tons of them on the CP History site, and now the kudos here, clearly, a crazy occurrence is all that's necessary, even when the picture quality is lacking! Oh, and the last name is actually spelled "Landers", BTW. At any rate, a TR is forthcoming, but I'll do that later (probably tomorrow) when I'm on my laptop, and not my phone. SPOILER ALERT: It was a great day to go to Cedar Point, with pretty short lines, (mostly) beautiful weather, strange occurrences (which you're somewhat already aware of), a lot of talk about my awesome daughter who was making her first trip there to ride the big coasters, and you shouldn't expect a legendarily humorous Report like coasterbill and others, because as my wife always tells me, I'm not as funny as I think I am.
  9. ^Ok, that's four! Anybody else? I think we should go with ESPN if everybody else is cool with it. But that's just my opinion. We can take a vote when we have our group together.
  10. Yeah, I was just telling my wife earlier today that I can't remember an August that was quite so rainy as this one here in Michigan! Hopefully MiA packed 'em in during the "drought" months preceding it, but I know August is typically when they "make bank", so the rain has been unfortunate...
  11. Does SFStL lead the way in the "Proposed Coasters that were Stolen from Us" department? Because it sure seems like every other SF park has "stolen" from them at least once, at this point...
  12. ^If there truly are three that SF bought, then I would guess the other two are for here, and SFMexico.
  13. The a** crack of dawn per usual. I want to say 5AM Hey! Just in time for me to wake up and read them before heading down to Cedar Point for the day! I'm going to have a lot of reading here to get caught up on when I get back. Or, I can just skip to the last page of the SF threads, and avoid all the complaining...
  14. Man! SFFT is sure causing a lot of limbs to sprout up! Why do I have this sneaking suspicion that they're going to be bringing out a tree trimmer tomorrow... (Honestly, with how lackluster most park announcements have been this year in regard to coasters, people are probably just making like Leia with R2D2, and saying "Help us SFFT! You're our only hope!" )
  15. ^Sweet! That's 3! Who else? Also, do you guys have any site preference? I typically play in ESPN leagues, but can do Yahoo if need be. NFL, CBS, FOX, or Fleaflicker would be the other options, though I'm not as high on their interface...
  16. Yes. I predict that many enthusiasts will feel entitled and butt hurt at the same time. Yeah after announced I'll stay away from this thread! Can't be worse than Cedar Fair's additions.... In My Opinion. Well, for the kinds of attractions that I am going to ride when I go to a park, I feel fairly confident that I will like the majority of SF's announcements more than the majority of CF's announcements.
  17. ^^Yup. Pretty sure you're the only one in the "Ninja Brilliance Club"! I enjoy the Batman clones, and I'd ride them if they were on every street corner. They're still just about at the bottom of all my B&M Invert ranks though... But hey, I have them over every Vekoma SLC, so there's that!
  18. You forgot the water reference... It's the world's first Giga Aquatrax, clearly!
  19. Honestly, it makes some of the darkest days of the KD thread seem a little more reasonable! I can't tell if I should look in the thread myself and expose myself to the thread or ask someone else to go in for some quotes. All of the posts revolving around that troll have been deleted (so about 90% of recent discussion in the VF thread). All it was was some guy complaining that Valleyfair doesn't get anything and using the term "Matt 'Disney' Ouimet". It was pretty bad. Interesting... I wondered why all of a sudden things seemed to die down in there!
  20. Ditto what others have said about Teddy Bridgewater... While he may not be the best QB out there, he IS a great guy, and somebody I really like, so it's a bummer to see this happen to him... Also, we've got two for a TPR Fantasy Football league! Anybody else? I'd probably want 10, minimum, to make it a decent league. Only 8 more people needed!
  21. Yes. I predict that many enthusiasts will feel entitled and butt hurt at the same time. I would hope enthusiasts would have lowered their expectations of Six Flags by now, but you're probably right!
  22. I think a Disk'O is a very solid addition for SFStL, as they are fun little flat rides! It will also pave the way for you guys to get that big new coaster in 2018! I'm sure you're going to love getting your S&S Free Fly, as they continue getting doled out that year!
  23. I'd be perfectly happy with a flat ride package as well. I could see a package consisting of a Superloop, Disk'O, and a Giant Frisbee and they would all be welcome additions to the park, except for maybe the Superloop, lol. This was precisely the package I was thinking of. They could all be DC themed to fit the new area back there, and could still precede another JL installment the following year. That would complete the transformation of that entire area of the park, and fit the park's need for more thrilling flat rides!
  24. 1920s - Jack Rabbit @ Kennywood 1930s - Blue Streak @ Conneaut Lake Park (Only by default) 1940s - Comet @ Hersheypark 1950s - Comet @ Waldameer (Again, by default) 1960s - Blue Streak @ Cedar Point 1970s - The Beast @ Kings Island 1980s - Magnum XL 200 @ Cedar Point 1990s - Phantom's Revenge @ Kennywood 2000s - Millennium Force or Maverick @ Cedar Point 2010s - Fury @ Carowinds
  25. I don't have any Photoshop skills to post a picture of this area, but look on the satellite view of the park, and you'll see a wide open area of land at the base of the cliffs, back between The Gully Washer, and their Star Flyer. There's water there as well, and a clear patch of land that stretches to in front of the Lone Star Lil's Amphitheater. There's a place something can dive off the cliff there as well, either to the West of the waterfalls, or a little towards the East. And isn't that where one of the pictures teasing the new attraction was taken from, where the Fireworks are shot off from? It seems a Dive/Water coaster off the cliffs there would be a bit of a first, and a pretty exciting addition, eh?
