  1. ^Man, I would love SO much just to ride El Toro over and over, I'd just ignore the enthusiast insanity! Sadly, I can't really afford to go this year, and don't have an invite or anything like that to do so anyway...
  2. Which coaster do you see SF RMC'ing? I also think we'll see multiple Free Fly's, probably at least two, if not three.
  3. ^Honestly, here in the states, 2017 is proving to be just a "down" year in general for new coaster additions everywhere (besides the S&S Free Fly's, I guess). Considering 2016 was such an EPIC year for new coasters around the world, and even a bunch here in the States, I'm not really too surprised, however.
  4. Granted, you know which park will receive one, but you're not allowed to tell anybody, so it's not very useful knowledge. I wish everybody could live in harmony on TPR, and silly flame wars, ignorant fanboys, and condescending anti-fanboys didn't exist here.
  5. I haven't ridden Hades 360, so for me personally, Gwazi. However, based on reputation, probably Hades 360. Demon Drop at Dorney, or X-Scream at Waldameer I get the distinction, so I'll answer this! SF Worlds of Adventure, definitely!
  6. August 19th
  7. Still... Good petting zoo or not, it's a petting zoo... Besides, improving flow to Funnel of Fear automatically bumps up this year's addition in my book!
  8. Cedar Point, this upcoming Thursday September 1st, for my daughter's first time there riding the big coasters! I am SO excited!!!
  9. ^Honestly, it's something! It's better than what they got last year at least. Baby steps, my friend. Baby steps...
  10. I agree! I really liked CW the last time I was there, and it was before Leviathan was even added. Their unique flat ride collection is awesome, and I'm excited to give this new addition a whirl next time I'm up there!
  11. Being somebody who goes to the best Cedar Fair park in the chain every year, and considers it my "home park", it's not really an issue that affects me, since I always know CP is, and will be, well taken care of. But I would prefer seeing at least moderately exciting DRY attractions regularly added to lesser parks like Michigan's Adventure, like the SF model. Of course, Great Escape is kind of the "MiA" of SF, so perhaps every chain has to have THAT park!
  12. The Larson Superloop for Over Texas is probably not gonna happen. They have said that they do not want one. Based on the teaser today, it looks like you may be incorrect!
  13. I know this isn't a popular opinion probably, but I like what SF has been doing with their DC theming, and in particular, SFOT's recent package of Villain themed flat rides. Which makes a Joker themed superloop a perfect addition!
  14. I couldn't fathom how this thread exploded for so many new pages just over the day today! Clearly, I forgot what thread we're talking about here...
  15. Thats kinda what i think as well. i see it as a possibility. I hope it would be one of the Tornado slides With there being two available now, I'd say the chances are pretty high. IF it does end up being a Tornado slide, this will be a GREAT YEAR for additions at WOF (and it's pretty awesome already) I will third this notion. I felt pretty sure they'd be getting one before the last announcement, so I suspect this will be that addition. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if park Wi-Fi and Funpix are also coming... I seem to remember seeing something that listed all the parks in the CF chain that will have FunPix, and WoF was one of them.
  16. Hey! An addition! It's a miracle!!! Seriously though, these are fine additions, and I particularly like the changes to layout of the park, as getting to Funnel of Fear was really poor, and awkward previously. So for that improvement alone, I am grateful! The only thing I wish I would have seen here, that is a desperately needed infrastructure change, is somehow adding a conveyor belt or something to the Mammoth Rive/Mine Shaft hill, as toting those large tubes up the hill now is challenging for multiple adults, not to mention near impossible for the litany of children I've seen (and subsequently had to help) struggling to get them up there by themselves. Hopefully, they figure out a way to simplify that situation one of these years... Also, I just want to say, some of the CF parks *cough* Kings Dominion *cough* need to take a cue from MiA and even Knott's, and simply have a low-key, non-teased and subtly mentioned announcement of new capital improvements, when said additions are not substantial in size or scope. I like this announcement from MiA so much more than I would have if they would have teased it extensively first, and then announced it in a packed room at a special event...
  17. I profoundly disagree about the awesomeness that is Holiday World, but regardless, I'd say that it is no more than a mid size park. Also, I assure you, mid-Michigan contributes plenty to CP's Michigan attendance numbers. They would feel it if MiA were bigger, no doubt. The thing is, it still wouldn't hurt them significantly even if it was a better park. But no competition is better than marginal competition, as far as CF is concerned, and had proven over the years...
  18. Count me in as another person who really liked Silver Bullet! It's no Banshee, Alpengeist, or Montu, but after that, it's in the mix with the rest of the B&M Inverts I've ridden, and definitely better than the Batman clones IMHO! I actually like its placement over the lake there, and think that's one if its best "selling points". However, I never saw the park before it was there, so I can understand if it kind of destroyed the ambiance of what was there before, damaging it in the eyes of regulars.
  19. I loved the coaster, as it was an absolute airtime machine (even dangerously so in some places), thanks especially to the lack of restrictive restraints! It would be at the tail end of my Top 10 wood coasters - though to be fair, I haven't ridden a ton of good wooden coasters yet, so that ranking is deceptive. I'm a big fan of Blue Streak, and I prefer Big Dipper. But as with most wood coasters, opinions vary wildly. It is definitely missed, but what's done is done, so no point in crying over "spilled milk"!
  20. ^Eh... What you say is not entirely true... I don't know how things are in Shelby Township, but here in the Lansing/Mid Michigan area, where I've lived all my life, there definitely is a bit of "are we going to Cedar Point, or Michigan's Adventure" competition for the consumer's dollar. This is from years of conversations with a wide cross-section of people, none of them "enthusiasts." Michigan is the second largest provider of attendance for Cedar Point, and if Michigan's Adventure was even a park the size and stature of Holiday World, it most definitely would hurt CP's bottom line. That was the trajectory they were on under the Jourdan's as the 90's came to an end, and CP was no fool, seeing the potential of the park. Hence, they bought it, and are reaping the dual profits of having both a park providing a large profit margin, and also less competition with CP for Michiganders' dollar. I know many non-enthusiast types here in Lansing, who are far more interested in going an extra hour to CP, than MiA. They cite the lack of anything new or interesting, or any compelling reason to go there. This isn't enthusiast or fanboy speak, this is the cold hard facts here in mid-Michigan. Much like the GL situation, I can't blame CF in the least for doing what they did regarding MiA, as it was good business. But as somebody who was enjoying the park's upward trajectory in the late 90's, and sees a ton of potential in the park, it is a little disappointing, though I don't lose any sleep over it...
  21. This was many years ago now, but I remember riding Rebel Yell and really liking it. At the time, I think it was one of my top 3 coasters in the park! (This was before I-305 and Dominator, and after Hypersonic closed.)
  22. I agree that B&M seems like it's out of Six Flags' price range currently, given how they're operating in recent years. I do wonder, however, how much cheaper one of those new Mack Dive Coasters is than a B&M? That would be a great addition on the cliffs as well! Getting back to the current SF model of operation, I know the lack of large coasters across the chain as of late might be annoying to some, but honestly, I think I'd rather have virtually every park get decent mid-range attractions, including some smaller coasters (I consider S&S Free Flys coasters at least), and fun interactive Dark Rides themed to Superheroes, than have only the top tier parks get big coasters, and everybody else gets old flats, kiddeland expansions, or nothing at all. We all know what the latter business model looks like across a park chain quite well!
  23. I didn't think it sucked, but my overall impression was "Eh, that was ok. Glad I rode it before it collapses on itself someday." I rode it in the front seat though. Maybe it would have left more of an impression on me if I had ridden it in the back seat, from the sounds of it. Having said that, at the bottom of the first drop, right as you head into the second hill, there was a very rough jolt, that I shudder to think of ridding in the back seat!
  24. I've always felt (get it, felt!) that the Yellow train provided the worst ride, myself! Of course, I love green, and hate yellow, so that may have something to do with it!
