  1. I cant belive that your comparing these two coasters, I guess it shows how different people prefer different aspects of coasters. Personally, i've never had a good ride on Mantis and being 6'5, I have no choice but to stand my 'lazy butt' up. It's shame that Millenium Force didnt live to the high 'stand'ards of Mantis.
  2. That was great fun, I really liked the way the ride used the terrain. It was much faster than I thought it would be too, but the turns handled the speed really well, felt very smooth considering the 40mph average speed. Whats next?
  3. I wouldnt say it's horrible, just a bit too rough than it should be, not due to the layout (which is above average IMO) but due to the fact that it feels like it has square wheels. I guess it's expensive too, but considering how much it actually costs me to get to Vegas, i'm not gonna complain about $15 ish.
  4. As much as it hurts me every time, I still need to ride Manhatten Express each time i'm in vegas, you just cant beat seeing the Vegas strip at night while upside down.
  5. Thanks for the pics Chuck, Dominator is a sweet addition to KD. The new paint job looks good, it's a shame they didnt paint the rails though, that overspray looks average. BTW, I think i'll never be able to ride a floorless now without singing Squeeze Box to myself......
  6. I have to agree with most tall people here, Vekoma SLCs have caused me the most pain on a coaster. I'm 6'5 and have have no problems with any other steel coasters. I find some wooden trains (e.g. the restraints on the Mean Streak trains) are really uncomfortable on my legs. I love the newish Intamis OSR trains (Ka, Superman Escape), they have plenty of room for my shoulders.
  7. Thanks for the tips thrillrideseeker, I have fixed the bugs you mentioned and have uploaded the new version. Cheers for the comments.
  8. That rocked! How long did that take you? I really enjoyed the back seat ride, it was so unpredictable and fast. I think I put my back out just watching it.
  9. Hello, please enjoy a ride on Genesis, my latest coaster. I am very happy with the result and think it's ready to share. Any tips you guys have are appreciated, e.g. how do I stop the second car from sitting at the top of the lift for ages? Genesis.nltrack
  10. I wonder if there's an opportunity for them to manage this park similar to SFGA with the 'Zoo/ Wildlife' area separate to the theme park. This way, the zoo could still manage and maintain the animals and thier welfare, and the theme park could be managed separately. Either way, ANY new coaster in Oz is very good news to me, I can only dream of a 200 ft + Intamin or B&M. p.s. The 'Big Wheel' in Melbourne is not enough to attract my hard earnt dollars for a trip to Vic, but a B&M dive coaster, book me in.
  11. Thanks for the tips.
  12. I finally got NL about a week ago and here is my first coaster, it's an attempted copy of Ka. I'm sure this has been done before, but I felt that it would be a good start for me. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks p.s. I wish NL had a hydraulic launch for Intamins! Kingda Ka V1.nltrack
  13. Nice work, i really liked this coaster, good airtime and a good pace throughout the entire ride.
  14. A fence sitting 10/20 for me, but admittedly, I guessed about 4 of my correct answers.
  15. You guys are right, I guess that the age of these coasters would likely put them in front, they've been charging per ride for a LOT of years. I'd still like to know the number 1, wood or steel, but what if we were to ask the question again of each type (wood and steel)? My thought would still be Manhatten Express for steel, but Cyclone for wood.
  16. Maybe they're adding a third track to Superman?
  17. Why does it have to be more JR's, how about a Dennys or Chilli's in a theme park, or am I just being too hopeful? Panda Express wins over JR for me, an overpriced, boring hamburger with no flavour?.....i'll pass thanks.
  18. I am interested to hear anyones thoughts on which coaster actually produces the largest amount of revenue for it's owner. I think it would have to be a coaster operated as a pay per ride deal, as coasters within a theme park may be too difficult to work out. My thoughts are that the Manhatten Express at NY NY (or whatever it's called these days) would make more money than any other coaster. This thing operates 12 hours a day, charging $14 per rider and every time i've been there, there is a massive queue (especially at night time). I think others that may need to be considered would be rides like the Cyclone at Coney Island or the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz.
  19. I'd love to ride it with all the snow everywhere like has at the moment, it looks superb, (but then again, i've never seen snow before, so my judgement may be a bit off). ^^What Rumors???? Please let there be rumors.
  20. I went with Griffin as it offers a bit more airtime, plus, its beats Shiekra for the best night time ride as well.
  21. My first trip to the states was in 1992, we went to Disneyland and thought it was awesome (I was 13, everything was awesome). In 2005, my wife and I hit up all of the Disney parks, East and West and since then, i've been back to the states and Disneyland/ DCA another two times. (The only reason i go into DCA is California Screamin) For us Aussies, Disneyland is heaps easier to get to as all of our direct flights land at LAX.
  22. Wow, how busy was Movie World in the aerial photo in the report? ^^^ Adventureworld installed a new 6 lane racing water slide in '05 and have put in another new water slide for the coming season, a waste of time IMO. I'm just waiting for Turbo Mountain to fall off its tracks one day, that thing just can not be safe these days.
  23. ^Wasnt that locker hire figure you quoted just from Superman Escape alone? If only Adventure world would stop putting in crappy water slides and actually spend thier money on a decent coaster................
  24. I wonder how Dreamworlds attendance figures compare with Movie worlds? It's sad to see no new coasters on the horizon for Movie World, my dreams of a MF clone have now been shelved.
  25. For me.... 1. Montu 2. Dragons, ice 3. Talon 4. Alpengeist 5. Raptor This should be a poll, i'd be interested to see a tally of everyones top 5.
