Theme Parks on Television
deano replied to Bubba83's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I only just recorded this on DVR today off Discovery. Any ideas on the best way to share it? -
^I actually remember riding on that train many years ago. Your right, it is well spread out, theres a lot of space for new rides though. The latest news is that the coaster will be demolished in a year or so and that there's a water coaster going in. I hope this is true, but i'll believe it when i see it.

Thanks Rabid Disney, maybe you could lend us SupermanEscape for next season??? Rampage is heaps smaller than the one at Dreamworld, i dont actually fit in it being 6'5 so i've never ridden it, i've ridden the one at DW though. Wow, that must be one lazy bulldog. It sure is a pedal yourself skyride, hard work, but good fun. Thanks for the comments guys.

As our summer is coming to an end here in Oz, i thought i'd better take the 10 minute drive to my local theme park and take a few photo's before Adventure World closes for another season. Adventure World is the only park in Western Australia, in fact, it's the only park for about 2000+ miles in any direction. It has two coasters and a couple of flat rides, but its mainly known as the best place to cool off in summer with it's waterslides. I've been coming here for about 20 years now and although the park is lacking any big coasters, i still enjoy a few visits each season. I'll finish off with this picture of the bumper boats and Bounty's Revenge. Thanks for checking out my Adventure World TR. All of the old go-cart and paddle boat bodies, how sad. Whistlestop Express has seen better days. My dad took me to the rear of the park to show me the dump, otherwise known as the 'grave yard for all of the old rides'. ...and saw these guys getting their Dominoes Pizza delivered to the park entrance, respect. We then jumped into the golf buggy for a drive around the park. Please dont throw up on me. We went into the fenced off area of Rampage while the ride was operating for some close up action. I'ts all smiles here, but when the ride started, i have to say that having all that weight screaming down on top of you so close, was damn scary. mmmmmmm, control room. The Rampage, it was here that i met up with my dad, who works maintenence at Adventure World. He took me on a little 'behind the scenes' tour of the park. Next up, the Power Surge, one of Zamperla's contribution's to the park. This coaster isnt too bad, it's just a shame that this is all we have. "yo yo yo, wasssup"? Hello Turbo Mountain. The 'Rampage', more of this ride a bit later.... Some good views of the waterslides. Now we're on the worlds slowest chairlift. The kiddie area is pretty good, theres plenty to keep them occupied. Getting back to the park, what do we have here? Yep, it's a credit, just not a very good one. "I'd like to peck out your eyes now please". Will someone please get these guys a beer? Emu's, ducks and Kangaroo's, a deadly combination... .....so, when i'm being lazy, i'm really just conserving energy and maintaining my hydration levels? So, what do Koala's do exactly? well, nothing really, just like the next featured lazy Aussie icon...the Kangaroo. "Hi Elissa, take me home please, all i need to live is a Gum tree, a nintendo wii and the occasional cuddle". The Koala's, look at them go..... Adventure World also has a wildlife section, are you ready to witness the energetic and busy lives of Australian wildlife? Life through the eyes of a big scary rock. "Hello, i'm Skull Rock, i like to eat little children, Koala's and Cinnabonns" These are fun, but the uphill walk in a pain in the a$$. The speed and racing waterslides. The pool and some water slides. The go-cart track with the bungee tower in the background. Bounty's Revenge. Beware of pirates in purple ships. The paddle boat lake, ooooh pretty. The park entrance.

Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
deano replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Good Call, that guy should NOT be in possesion of a video camera, worst - filming - ever. PLUS, he was holding on to the hand rail on the lift hill......? Loco, thanks for the link, Medusa looked like pretty good coaster to me, maybe a bit rough, but it was hard to tell. Superman looks pretty good too, i'd like to get to this park one day, but like Elissa said, theres plenty more to do before this one. -
Still alive, so i.....

Thank you so much for your help guys, it's a relief to know that i can get them once there as they will save me about one thousand dollars in entrance fees. I am definately able to get there early and in some cases the night before. I'll be there in mid July and i believe it's the busiest time of the year so i dont want to waste any time. Thanks again.

Hi there, I am looking at getting a Six Flags season pass as well as a Cedar Fair Maxx pass for my holiday to the states this year. The websites are great but dont answer these two questions, - Can international visitors get Season Passes? - If so, what are the steps i would take to get them once at the park and how long does it take to process them? My first Six Flags park will be SF New England and my first Cedar Fair Park will be Dorney. Thank you for any help. Deano

Redesigned trains in the works for X
deano replied to kraxleRIDAH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Your not wrong! the hours i've spent in X's queue, surely a reduced number of cars would only mean more hours in the sun waiting in line for the neck injury that is to follow a ride on X. By the way, i am so confused now about whether or not heavier trains go faster/ carry more momentum/ have less wind resistance etc etc. After hearing some of the intereresting points raised, i'm now leaning towards my initial thoughts that a lighter train will carry less momentum and travel at slower speeds. -

I never thought of it that way, it just seems natural to me that more weight would mean more speed, but your right. Do you think they'll actually drop the amount of cars on X though? -

Wouldnt lighter seats then change the whole ride experience? If the seats arent as heavy, surely the speed of the train will be affected, therefore the turns and drops wont be taken as fast. It could mean a smoother ride already, as long as the train makes it back to the station of course. -

Busch Gardens have done well with Shiekra and Montu, good stuff. Awesome, my first coaster on US soil on my next holiday will be Superman ROS, this result only makes me want to go sooner than July. p.s. GO SUPERMAN ESCAPE AT #16 !!!
