An update on Shanghai Disney... "WALT Disney Co. signed a formal agreement today with a company backed by the Shanghai municipal government to build a long-planned theme park in the financial hub of China, the two sides said in separate statements, MarketWatch reported. Shanghai Disneyland will cost $3.59 billion, making it one of the largest-ever foreign investments in China. The signing of the agreement comes amid broad concerns about the health of the global economy and as Disney continues to struggle with its five-year-old Hong Kong theme park. The Shanghai government said Disney signed the agreement with Shanghai Shendi Group Co., a company set up today to oversee the development of the theme park. "We can confirm the statement from the Shanghai government that we've taken another step forward in the approval process," Disney said in a statement. The Shanghai theme park will be Disney's fourth outside the US, after those in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Xinhua previously reported that Shanghai Disneyland will occupy 116 hectares and have both Chinese and US companies as investors. Sad to hear your not coming to Western Australia, but I dont blame you, we really dont have much to offer here in regards to theme parks other than Adventure World and it really is a long way away from the East coast for only 1 park. Still great news to hear your coming Down Under, Superman Escape wont know what hit it.

And I miss Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster and Giant Drop. Thanks for the comments everyone! Ha ha, shows how much I know. (insert facepalm here) looks like snow, smells like snow, tastes like....oh you get the point. p.s. I'll trade countrys with you for a week if you like.....

Hey PKI MAN, thanks for the photos, lots of pics of my favourite ride MF, glad you had a good time and the crowds were low. Love the blue sky with the snow flakes, considering i've never seen snow in my life, its hard to believe that CP gets covered in it for months at a time. You've made me realise just how much I miss the USA and its awesome theme parks. Deano

Seriously, wtf happened to the kids seat? Is the restraint attached to the chassis or the actual seat? (just wondering if when the seat is dislodged like that, does the restraint move with it or crush the passenger?). Hope those dudes are ok, this sucks balls because I was hoping to ride it in a few weeks.

Here's my entry, (MS Paint sucks, but it's all i've got at work). Introducing 'Howard the Duck's PHILHARMAGIC 3D', conducted by the Dark Overlord.

This coaster looks great, when I visited KD in 07 I was pretty dissapointed with the coasters on offer (except for Volcano) and now this park has potentially got a new number 1 on its hands.

When I went, we stayed at Freehold Gardens Hotel, about 30 mins North of SFGA on the same rd, Monmouth rd. Very nice hotel with plenty of places nearby to eat, shop etc, but it is a little far away. I dont know why but SFGA doesnt have that many hotels really close.

Thanks for the reply Joey. I was having one of those moments where I was actually thinking it would be worth the costs of moving overseas for a job in a theme park. I would love to do it, but after a bit more thought, not Singapore, my preference would be to live in the USA.

Looking at thier website, there are still heaps of jobs available. Does anyone know if a company like Universal would pay to relocate a new employee from another country? Suddenly, a move to Singapore is starting to sound good.
