Michigan's Adventure (MiA) Discussion Thread

Of all of the SLC's out there, I think this is a good one to get as it's easily the smoothest and most enjoyable one i've been on. (out of 5) Also, didnt it just get a recent paint job? if so, no need to repaint it. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
deano replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
'Atlantis' looks like an awesome ride, i really really want a ride on it...........but, im still happy with whatever decisions Cedar Point had to make to end up creating Maverick. Maverick was so much fun, i almost peed in my pants. (although one particular ride on the bronze train in the back right hand seat was seriously the roughest ride ive had on a steel coaster, must have had a square wheel or even 'no' wheel that day, ouch) Apart from the slow loading times, an Aquatrax still would have been sweet at Cedar Point, why arent there that many of these at other parks? -

Im really excited about this 'new' park, ive only ever been exposed to new coasters at an existing theme park, but an entirely new theme park is super cool. -

Dominator is a big score for any park, especially KD, they are in need of a decent coaster, apart from Volcano of course. -

Dreamworld already has 1 yellow (crappy) coaster, why the hell would they make the new one yellow too? -
What parks are you going to? Beware Furius Baco seems to be having trouble running more than 1 train and it was running all week with 1 train with near 3 hour ques. Starting next Monday, i'll be hitting Parque Atracciones first, Parque Warner, then Port Aventura, so your TR is very well timed, thanks. Ooh, a 3 hour wait for Baco isnt good as i've only got one day at Port Aventura, oh well, i'm sure its worth it, Intamin accelerators are my personal favorite. Do the parks in Spain get busier as the day goes on? or are they packed at opening and stay busy all day? Parque Warner used to be a Six Flags, apparently a very nice Six Flags too. Your right though, it would be nice to see other Six Flags parks looking as well themed as this one.

When my wife and i were at CP in October 05, i got straight on MF with no restraint issues the first time. When i tried to buckle up for my second ride, i really stuggled to pull the belt tight enough to satisfy the ride op, so i switched seats with my wife from the right side to the left side and i buckled up just fine, with like 3 inches of slack. This tells me that the belts are definately, randomly different.

Awesome TR, and some really good coaster photos as well, thanks for sharing.

Australia's next coaster construction

Adventure World is too busy coming up with more 'packup' thrill rides methinks. They have bucket loads of land; how much would a small to mid sized woodie cost? Your right, they've got the land and in my opinion are busy enough in summer to justify it. We'll just have to keep dreaming though because Adventure World is owned by the same company that owns Dreamworld, and i'm sure that right now, they are concentrating on competing with Movie World and Superman Escape......(daydreams about SE for about 5 mins). Where's our new theme park in Melbourne! but your closer to QLD than we are, it's a much cheaper flight for you. Plus you've got Luna Park................. um, well, at least your closer to QLD. -

37 Injured In Fairground Enterprise Fire.
deano replied to Kumali-'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Those poor people, how terrifying for them. I can honestly say that i will never ride an enterprise again, I know that this is an isolated incedent, but i have always felt unsafe on these things, in fact i dont even think i can put them in my RCT3 parks anymore after seeing that video! This doesnt mean that i will never ride a stand up coaster after the death in Japan or anything that drastic, it's just that i have never been comfortable with the restraint system & the fact that your locked in a cage on the enterprises. Seeing that video just sealed the deal for me.
