  1. Thanks, guys, for the encouraging information! I'm looking forward to getting on my last coasters of the season tomorrow, even if the waits are long, and getting my second RMC under my belt as well! Hope you enjoy the park! Just curious if you could provide a comment on the crowd levels today at some point? I get off work at 2pm and am wondering if it'll be worth the 60 minute drive for 3.5 hours at the park. Perfect weather has me wanting to go, but I believe I'm not alone in thinking that. Thanks in advance !
  2. I've used my bottle for two seasons and given little thought about it getting stolen. I do make my bottle look ratty by half-assedly ripping off the label for ID purposes. Also chew the heck out of the straw. I figure it's easy to ID in the stand by looks in case I forget a number. Also, it just doesn't look "clean". Figure that keeps most Billy Badasses away...
  3. I'm sure the insightful posts from direct sources will be argued by someone who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night shortly....
  4. Well, Chairlift season is upon us, so..... WHEEEEEEEEEE!
  5. ^^^ ^^^ Happy to see you enjoying the success of your club I'm still living/dying with the US Men's team. I still dunno if I should be happy or disappointed with a 4th place finish in Copa America over the Summer. We won the games we should have, but didn't bother to show up in two games vs Colombia and we got spanked in the Semifinals against Argentina. In 13 days the US starts their journey through "The Hex", the final stage of World Cup Qualifying in CONCACAF. And we start with our biggest match on US soil, Mexico. I'll be journeying to Columbus, OH for that and will be proudly flying the flag. It's going to be insane and I couldn't be happier to be in attendance!
  6. Honestly it doesn't really do much... People say that Dragster and KA are "one trick ponies". Superman is 1/2 trick since it's just a shuttle. Big factor would be how much of a rush you get from pure speed. Some people go bonkers, others are just "meh". I tend to lean towards the latter due to snowboard/automotive speed experiences, but YMMV. Definitely check it out and form your own opinions. I still got it as a "must ride" if I make it out to LA at some point.
  7. Just keep doing your thing Robb... "Nerd Culture" has a downside and this is a perfect showcase of that crap... It's amazing how the internet has allowed these people a soapbox over the last 10-12 years.... Just keep letting the haters hate. Jealousy is a wonderful thing to observe from afar
  8. Because there are racist D-bags that live in the Chicago area?
  9. I'll take a double of American Honey while I dig out my slide rule
  10. "I'm 1200 miles away in FL." And people wonder why stuff like this isn't taken seriously...
  11. Why do y'all hate America? P.S. There needs to be a boat simulator between the station and lift otherwise this is garbage
  12. http://www.rockymtnconstruction.com/ibox-track.php An explanation of Topper Track can be found under the "Services" tab.
  13. Well yea... When you hit a kicker at 40+ MPH and actually fly through the air 60-80 feet, yea, I'd say that qualifies as "ejector air". I mean you actually defy gravity and fly through the air. Don't think riding a boat on flat water and coming off your seat an inch is comparable.
  14. I don't think you understand what airtime actually is...
  15. That's an interesting idea regarding Navy Pier. Don't think it'll ever happen, but it's a cool idea on paper at least.
  16. That actually is what happens in the playoffs. The 7th umpire on the crew is sitting in NYC watching the game. During the regular season, the Replay Umpire is following just two games. They know when they are about to get called and the wheels are already turning in their heads when they see a play. They know exactly what angles they want to see. The issue comes in when these ideal angles aren't available. The time gets consumed when they need to take "S" & "E" from the 1st replay and "A" & "F" from the 2nd angle to get "S-A-F-E".
  17. LOL..Nobody asked for anything of the ridiculous things you mentioned. So like i said before it is b/c you said so. No I don't believe you over reports. Also, reports on other conversions costs. You were at most a college kid who the hire to run a ride for the summer and they would never tell a minion what the cost was, you're self described inflated importance is laughable. Schoop (Or is it BBD this week?), can you drop the act?
  18. Agreed. As I said earlier, it's hard to shake the idea of a conventional construction timeline. That's your baseline and it's hard to alter it to fit the timeframe things are currently progressing along at.
  19. Clearly this "being nicer" thing isn't working out so screw it. Based on his sign up date, post count and the fact that he finds a way to mention me in just about every single post he makes it's obvious that Wisco Woody is a troll, probably someone who was banned before who signed up pretty much exclusively to express his butthurt over the fact that I exist. This has been especially true ever since I completely schooled him in the Cedar Point thread over his typical enthusiast bullsh*t rant about how the park should only build rides that he specifically likes as if the world revolves around him. As always, stay mad. I don't know what this little witch hunt you're on is about but I don't particularly care either. You've had a toxic attitude from day one. I've tried to be nice, tried to laugh it off and diffuse it over and over again but it's obvious that you just enjoy starting problems and being an a**hole. Nobody was talking to you. Piss off. And sorry Larry, I tried. I feel I should apologize on behalf of any SFGAm fans that are present on this board because Wisco, Eugene (or Schoop or whatever he's calling himself this week), and others came onto TPR as a result of an anti TPR thread on a SFGAm message board. Unfortunately our dumpster fire over there spilled over to here and the stupidity proliferated here...
  20. Me too, but now I just punch myself in the side of the head while I'm riding so that I can be reminded of the good ol' days. You're lucky... Seems like some people need to get into chains, whips, hot candle wax, ect. to get the job done it seems
  21. Post Count Argument... I remember the 1st time I was on a message board! **grabs popcorn** Bill doesn't post to post. He's always giving his opinions (which he's allowed to do so, just as you are), but his opinions are helpful, insightful, and aren't viewed as being pulled out of his arse. I'd wager most people around these parts see his posts as insightful and add to the forum. Other posters, however aren't viewed as positively... It's how message boards work, whether you like it or not...
  22. I'm in the 2017 camp, but with an *... Why can't CP have their cake and eat it too? I see them possibly opening the ride late in 2017. Maybe opening with Haunt. Play it like SF does and say that a 2018 pass gets you Haunt 2017 and the New/Improved ________ Streak/Hawk. It's quirky marketing, but could bring a significant increase on Friday & Sunday traffic. And then you would still get a push on 2018 passes, similar to what you get when a ride is coming. Bill makes some valid points, but I just can't shake the timeline. 19 months of SBNO Streak is a long ass time for standard construction. Has any modern ride taken that long without delays or a deliberate, prototype/R&D type build?
  23. Welcome to TPR eguenecd!! I know this comes back every time someone mentions something about the 150th in 2020, but do people honestly think that they won't do anything big to celebrate the ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTIETH anniversary of the second oldest theme park in the US? Yes. That is exactly what is going to happen. It will be just another year of development. Nothing more than maybe some special Coke cups and maybe a banner or three.
  24. No. If you do this you create a DC area, now you have Justice League, Dark Knight, and Superman out of place. And this is the exact thing you're complaining about... This doesn't fix anything and is a solution to a thing that is only a problem to enthusiasts. Justice League was put out of place b/c of pure bad design. Then they tried the silly notion of the Metroplis area nonsense, which consists of 1 attraction. This would be a start to correcting horrible themed areas i the past. Mardi Gras has been essentially stripped of rides and needs retheming. They could extend consistent themes and just link previous Mardi Gras and Yankee to 1 giant DC area. Giant DC Area: Superman Dark Knight Retheme King Chaos to "Two Face" Add Zamperla Endeavor (Catwoman Whip or Lasso of Truth)to previous Mardi Gras Area Add Zamperla Hawk possibly too as it doesn't take much space Combine the above with Joker - 4D coming in 2017 Batman - V2 - paint it electric blue and call it Mr. Freeze Yankee Clipper - retheme to Penguin Slide Whilygig - relocate it to County Fair in 2018 or 19, replace with Skyscreamer themed Catwoman Whip or Wonderwoman Riddler's Revenge - Zamperla Discovery added in 2018 or 2019 in the area near the flumes/picnic area. The only DC ride out of place would be Justice League. Eventually if they takeout maybe Dark Knight in mid 2020's they could add a launch coaster extending from its' site running behind Raging Rapids. By then Raging Rapids may have run it's life cycle, so a launch coaster could take it's space with that of Dark Knight. Name the launch coaster the Flash. So 1/3 the park becomes DC Land? Yea, not happening. Also, do you think that Six Flags will shell out the extra $$$ to use ALL the DC characters? There are limits to that ya know... It's totally possible and they already have done something like it at SFOT. 7 DC themed rides in Gotham City..Batman, Batwing, The Joker, Riddler Revenge, Catwoman Whip, Harley Quinn, and Mr Freeze. It's one of the most popular areas of the park. They have 3 more DC themed rides..Aquaman Splash and Justice League both in the same area, leaving only Superman Tower not with another DC themed ride. Even the 3 rides not in Gotham City are very close by it and on the same side ofthe park. So having a large part of 1 side of the park DC themed rides is not good design and theme continuity. GP don't care. GP pays the bills. Six Flags cares about things the GP cares about. Having a DC Land won't add money to the coffers. If the GP gave a rats ass about themes the park would be a very different place and would have been for the past 20 years. If you want theming, go to Disney.
