Dude, you've answered your own question already... Lines can range from nonexistent to packed in, depending on what day you visit and what ride it is. In the five times I went last summer, Dark Knight generally has horrendous operations so if you want it, ride it in the morning. By afternoon it will have a full queue. Goliath right away will have a the first major switchback area full but that's it, and Superman always extremely close to spilling out on the walkways. X-Flight gets big lines as well because it's a wing coaster. Raging Bull can get long lines, but I have yet to see a line longer than 30-ish minutes. I'm sure it happens though. Later in the day, the lines can absolutely horrific even during the week and probably approached about an hour or more. The rest of the lines were pretty evenly crowded, with Superman of course taking the lead.

Anyone going to venture out to see Ghostbusters this coming weekend? The path this movie has taken is one of the strangest I've seen. It blew up the internet with everyone wanting to kill it with fire, yet most reviews (that I'm seeing at least) seem to be in the "B- to B+" range. Most seem to call the movie a good popcorn flick where you can shut off your brain for two hours and have a good time doing so. Basically what most seem to want out of a Summer movie. Just seems like the haters were out to get this movie from the beginning.

To be fair, Yeungling gets higher props than it probably should since it's not available here in the Midwest... The grass being greener on the other side of the fence so to speak... I was that way for a while and know a lot of people who follow suit... -

How dare someone have fun at a park instead of worrying about getting Woodstock Express for their 479th credit! For shame... -
Is American Eagle still flash passless?? We went two years ago in July, and if it hadn't been for Flash Passes we would have had a miserable time, the only line we actually had to wait in besides the food lines were the ones for American Eagle though. Yea, no Flash Pass on Eagle... If you're getting FP, just do Eagle first if you really don't want to wait...

I vote VIP Hobo... Like he found a twenty walking along the street one day This has been one of the more interesting threads for the Summer so far... Kinda amazed at the different presentation you get in Europe. Makes me want to make a trip over there at some point. Just curious, how are you guys traveling from park to park? Mix of rail and air travel or mostly air?

Bill beat me to the punch... Took the words right out of my mouth.... -
Actually, I purchased a pair of video recording sunglasses so it isn't so obvious. I waited to get out of the station then start recording. None of the attendants here OR at KI suspected a thing As someone who had a chunk of a day at a park ruined by some twat-waffle losing loose articles on a coaster last Monday, I'll echo the notion that you shouldn't be a dumbass. There isn't a single noteworthy ride in North America that doesn't have a P.O.V. already filmed. And its P.O.V. is done at a much higher quality to boot. Don't be a typical Billy Badass teen and brag about breaking rules....

Ya know, I wanted to ride the Skull and was going to, but then I got pissed off after getting hit on my 2nd Nitro ride, so I wandered back to Toro. Never went back to that side of the park. So next time. Although I did enjoy Skyride in all it's glory early in the day before it went down for good. That was bueno

So, rides: - El Toro - Worth every bit of hype this ride gets. It's a blast to ride and 100% rerideable. The airtime is insane in the back. I also have to give props to the "twister" section. As a former semi-pro snowboard racer the 90* banking & transitions between turns is a close reproduction of the forces you experience doing a carved turn on a race course. That was really cool for me to experience on a ride. I got a kick of Ryan's pleas to get people to fill in the back rows of the station. Not the best station design but I'll gladly push my way past people to get to a 1-2 train wait back there. - El Diablo - Honestly the surprise of the trip. After riding, I think these are solid additions to the parks that got them and I hope we get one at SFGAm. It's a fun little flat with both hangtime and some positive g-forces. I also like how the ride is loud. - Bizzaro - Really kinda sad this ride is tucked back in a useless corner of the park. I rode this early in the AM, shortly after riding a few laps on El Toro. There was not a single person on the ride. I walked up to the station and saw the ops just standing around BSing. I even got a laugh when I asked if the ride was down. I got to ride in the first row as the only person on the train. I then moved to the back for the next train. I found the ride much more enjoyable back there. With a full train, I'm sure there is some force even. - Kinda KA - The ride is a one trick pony. However, as someone who hadn't seen that trick since 2013 w/ TTD, I was blown away. I can see how it would get old if you rode 15+ times over a Summer. Did Row 1 and it was worth the 80+ minute wait. I did feel a little restricted by the OTSR's. Because of that I do give the nod to TTD. Also not sure what the point of the airtime hill was. - Chang O'Lantern - Been awhile since I've had my ears boxed that hard on a coaster. About the only redeeming quality is that this ride has a "roar" that can be heard across a good chunk of the park. I do think it's a pretty solid attempt at theming by Six Flags too. - Joker - Fun as hell, but also short as hell. My waits were in the 15-20 minute range. Anything significantly longer and I think I'd be completely let down. Rode Purple Rail facing backwards and Green Rail forwards. Green Rail wins hands down. That ride was delightfully disorienting while the Purple Rail just rocked back and forth. I did leave with a smile both times however. - Nitro - Got two back row rides, one of which was with a loose slot machine in front of me. Overall I was disappointed with this. I'm used to Raging Bull, so Nitro seemed significantly less forceful. The only solid pop of air I sensed was on the left hand turn back in the woods. - Batman - <3 Quick and snappy <3 It seemed to have a bit quicker pace and a bit more force than our version at SFGAm. Only did a single ride since I've done our version so much, but I'm kicking myself for that.

Mind if I ask how the hell you got there via public transit? I took SEPTA from Jefferson Station to the Trenton Transit Center. From there I took Uber to the park. Going back I used Lyft to go from SFGAdv to the Trenton Transit Center. It made for a long day (7am train out of Philly to make park opening). Uber was all over the Trenton Transit Center, but non existent around the park. Lyft had a single car going in the area of the park a little after 7pm so I took it. I didn't want to have to call a $80+ cab so I didn't chance hanging at the park for more rides. Uber/Lyft ride availability seemed hit or miss at best. It wasn't cheap, but it's doable.

Had the opportunity to visit SFGAdv this past Monday. Overall it was a very solid day at the park and well worth the journey from Philly on Public Transit. I'd give an overall grade of "B". I'll start out with the negatives: Line Jumping seems to be part of the culture at this park. Given that I saw this 6-7 times before lines died around 5pm, it seems to be par for the course. Not only was it 14-16 year old school kids meeting up with their group already in line, but also people well into their 20s. They just push their way through the line and meet up with their buddies. There would often be a security person at the Flash Pass entrance but they can't do anything for the main line. Also had a crappy experience on Nitro. Was riding back row later in the day. Some twat-waffle decided to ride towards the front of the train with $34.79 of change in their pockets. From the initial drop onwards this twat-waffle was paying out like a loose slot machine. I was hit twice, once in the cheek and once just to the side of my right eye. The entire ride you could hear coins clanging through the train. I get that stuff comes out of pockets but this was ridiculous. One of the crappiest rides I've ever had. There were positives from the park as well. Ride ops were solid throughout. Saw Ryan doing his thing on Toro. Didn't see any ops that looked like that wanted to shoot themselves. Food service was also adequate for the day. Panda's "Bigger Plate" was a ton of food for $13. Quality was also on par with what I expect from a Panda Express. Park layout was also easy to navigate, although a bit spread out, once I learned the layout. The park was decently kept. I don't expect much when I go to a park, but SFGAdv met all expectations. I'll do a follow up post with ride details later when I have some more time.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

El Toro at SFGAdv on Monday... -
Why assume that? It's a readily marketable attraction, Six Flags doesn't need any additional justification to add this and attract customers. For Six Flags? No, this doesn't add to their customer base really. But for Samsung, it puts their product in front of 1 million people instead of say 450-500k if this was installed on Demon. That is the factor that is driving this. It's a collaboration between Samsung AND Six Flags. Both sides want to benefit. This is where Samsung is getting their benefit. Samsung is the one who pushed for this to be used on marquee attractions like Bull and Superman in all likelihood.

Tallest coaster you've been on.
RaceBoarder replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. KA 2. Dragster 3. Millennium Force 4. Nitro 5. Raging Bull Wood 1/2/3 - Whatever is taller between Mean Streak, El Toro, and American Eagle. I don't know/care about those stats. -
Hoping crowds are back to "normal" (whatever that is) for today... I got one shot at the park and this is it. Ideal weather (80F and Sunny) has me a bit worried, but it is what it is and I'll manage. Quick question: Is there anyplace to charge a phone in the park? My battery has been acting up and may need a boost at some point today. I don't have a car, so kinda need the phone to get a ride back. If there's not a chance of charging, I guess I get to go back to the 2005-era and take on a park while disconnected from the outside world... OH THE HUMANITY!

I think your math is off on the parking lot.... $20/car x 50,000 = $1,000,000 That would mean that the average day would see over 100,000 people in the park.
