  1. You should just stop on the MCBR so you can look to your left and admire the boats
  2. Word... Some friends and I actually got quite the positive reaction at a local bar a while back when we put on some Warren G and Tupac... The place was in full 90's-revival mode the rest of the night thanks to us... One of those rare nights when everyone in the bar was on the same page...
  3. On a coaster like this, are the spins mechanically triggered? Just wondering if each ride is unique or uniform....
  4. Where is the Boat? Can someone please ask Tony where the damn boat is? At some point, I think we need to face that the boat had come to a tragic end to its life if it doesn't come back soon. A new boat shall come once spring has sprung!
  5. Six Flags Gold Pass for 2016.... Convenience and price are why I go this route.... It'll probably just be a day or two at Cedar Fair parks, so day passes work fine...
  6. Ok, so a commute between the park and either city is an option... That opens things up a lot for this trip...
  7. Big thing would be to mention what part of the US you're looking to travel to and how long you have to work with... It's a 4+ day drive to go from California to New York... Your best bet is to pick out the parks that are "Must See" for you and then plan from there.... Every "region" of the US has several stops that can be made and will make a worthwhile trip...
  8. How accessible is SFGAdv from Philly and NYC by car? I'm spitballing plans for Summer and SFGAdv is on the radar... Any plans would be centered around being in Philly for the US Men's Copa America match on June 11th... Flights to NYC from Chicago seem like they might be $80-100 less and more numerous vs going into Philly... Curious if dealing with traffic headaches from NYC might negate that however...
  9. Step 1: King's Island Step 2: Hookers Step 3: Blow Step 4: Step 5: PROFIT!!!
  10. It's cold out there today... Won't somebody think of the boat!?!?!?!?!?
  11. Well, it is essentially TTD, so I'm sure they were going for the "clone" angle... **note** Yes, I know there is an airtime hill and the stats are slightly different... Most GP won't realize that however..
  12. Does anyone have any numbers for the actual sale of an up and running park? Just given that a single marquee coaster will be $10+ million, the value will add up quickly... It seems like a $1 billion + investment to buy an established Six Flags or Cedar Fair park....
  13. Thanks for the insight guys... I'll be honest on that I never considered CGA... I'm a Six Flags guy by default, ha ha... It would be interesting to see CGA and compare it to SFGAm, my home park... The Santa Cruz Boardwalk also sounds interesting... One of the first things I did when I started looking into this trip was look at the Giants and A's schedule... Unfortunately both teams are off/out of town June 2nd-6th... I'd love to check out the Giants' stadium, but it just ain't happening here... The Quakes are also out of town during my window... From there, I figure I can fill a day on the shores of SF Bay... Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge would be must see things... Fisherman's Wharf also seems interesting... Probably some good food to be had down there as well... I'm sure there is no shortage of things to see on the waterfront... Like I said earlier, I'm still kicking around ideas and just starting to do recon...
  14. So I'm working on coming up with my Summer travel plans... Still just in the idea phase, but I'm considering going out to the Bay area... Just had a couple questions: - How driveable is the Bay area? If I go, the main reason for the trip would be the US Men's National Team's Copa America match at Levi's Stadium on Friday, June 3rd... Santa Clara seems to be on the South End of SF Bay... SFDK seems to be on the North end... Based on maps, it seems like 880/580/80 would offer a straight shot of ~55 miles, but I hear driving in CA can be a total bitch... Am I nuts for considering this drive between the two? I'd also do some tourist stuff around San Fran, so I got points of interest all over the area... - How about the park itself? 1st week of June is the 1st week of daily ops... Schools still in session? Anything to watch out for during that time? Weekday or Weekend days are options (obviously weekday is preferred)... Weather at the park? Also weather in general? I know the Bay Area is pretty screwy and a few miles can make a huge difference in temps... - Airports? Seems that OAK, SFO, and SJC are all accessible from Chicago... Anything to consider here? Thanks for any insight! It's appreciated
  15. To use your car analogy: Say an owner of a Bentley calls a Ford Focus garbage? Sure the Focus doesn't have wood inlays and seats that massage your butt while you drive, but 98% of people don't care about that stuff in a car... Does that mean that Ford should just stop producing the Focus because the Bentley crowd doesn't like them? Same thing with enthusiasts and parks...
  16. Dumb but simple one: Whoever was the first to have guests line up for individual rows in the station vs letting everyone through one entrance in bulk....
  17. Not something you come across every day... Looking forward to hearing about your experience
  18. It was waterboarding before waterboarding was even a thing Although we did get this as a result: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  19. Meh... I love me some Republica.... But I liked the song long before I ever cared what TTD was, ha ha.... Stadium Anthems FTW!
  20. Just kinda realized realized something with Valravn's location: Think the back of the park will be deserted till after lunch now? You have 3 coasters that are very popular with the GP right inside the entrance... It'll probably take 2-3 hours to get all 3 done if you arrive at normal opening w/o Fast Lane... That should really keep people stacked at the front of the park... Also, think the cat will be let out of the bag n regard to using the Marina Gate for early entry? It'll be right in front of Valravn, so it'll be more visible...
  21. Iron Wolf or Batman at SFGAm sometime in the mid 90's....
  22. Except they are moving the entrance to SW Territory towards the restrooms & concession stand down by Ricochet and River Rocker... The area will be its own thing... This area has never had a "Southwest" feel to it anyways, even with SWA there...
  23. Back seat about 95% of the time for me... Only exception would be a launched coaster like Dragster or Vertical Velocity... Also opt for the front on GIB's... Have yet to try a full circuit launched coaster so the jury's still out on that, but feeling the back is where I'd want to be...
  24. That's taking "overbank" to the next level... Like it a lot
  25. I like the idea of the Q-band shown above.... Much better than the Tomogatchi that most parks use... Less likely to lose it and more convenient.
