  1. All could happen but a Giga.. V2 and 1 of the flumes could go. In fact 1 of the flumes should go! Yea... Enthusiasts keep saying the same stuff year after year after year, they're bound to eventually guess something right...
  2. I have a feeling that V2 isn't going anywhere... But hey, let's all dream that we'll lose V2 then drop 1 or both flumes and replace them with a Giga.
  3. Part of me wants this to hold true just to watch enthusiasts lose their shit...
  4. Enthusiasts always say dumb shit! It's what we do!
  5. Already done... Giant Drop is Platinum Flash Pass only. It's stupid as hell. VR needs a 3D environment to work and a drop tower is only 2D. Also you'll have 5-10 minute dispatches for a ride that is literally 30 seconds total.
  6. This proves the point about "perceived value"... They don't want to sell a $135 pass and then have someone come back and complain. Yea, the 1-hour wait is better than the 3-hour wait, but that is a tough sell at that point. Also, we're talking about 3-5 days out of what, 125 operating days? More and more, it seems that you'd probably enjoy your day better if you had a Skip the Line pass. And by making it relatively cheap, you're gonna have more people using it. Kinda sounds like what Six Flags pushes with their cheap season passes doesn't it? Obviously it's scaled down in raw numbers, but you may see a particularly high percentage of pass holders jump on this and as a result you see a jump in wait times. I don't think they'll go from station waits to 60+ minutes right out of the gate, but a ride might go from a walk-on to 10 minutes the first season. Then 20 min the next season. Then 30 min. It's a slippery slope that Cedar Fair has to balance on.
  7. I think the pricing is an interesting dynamic given how Six Flags is 3x the cost for their Season Skip the Line passes. At the same time, however, I don't think the parks that are offering this require a FAST LANE day in/day out like some Six Flags parks do. It'll be interesting to see how this develops. The more people use these passes, the longer wait times get. The longer wait times get, the lower the passes' perceived value becomes. It's a dynamic system that will ebb and flow with use. Seems like we are starting a downward trend in the perceived value since more and more people are acquiring the Skip the Line passes each year.
  8. And look at the people that have lost their shit over the one element... It's a "Hollywood Marriage" scenario with Cedar Fair and RMC working together... That doesn't always result in a Fairy Tale ending...
  9. Fixed that for you. Statements like this make me look forward to the bitching that will come about in the future.
  10. Wait, so... someone was killed/sterilized by the broken beer bottle? If it was broken "under water" yes, they have to drain it... Some may not like it, but that is the sue-happy world we live in... Sadly this is a totally understandable precaution that the resort took...
  11. So the main takeways here are that 1) The international deals are licensing deals. We kind of knew that already. They're Six Flags parks in name only. 2) They have no intention of adding to their current level of CapEX spending (percentage-wise), and in fact they may lower it. The good news is that with the additional revenue from the licensing deals and the fact that they're currently investing a ton of money into a water park in Mexico they may have more capital to work with, but I don't think they're likely to spend it. - Finally, they're tremendously happy with the performance of Holiday in the Park and their retention of memberships. The large number of people who keep the memberships beyond the 12 month point was a major point of the conference call so they seem to be very proud of it. They attribute a lot of this to Holiday in the Park and see a lot of value in extending their hours because there seems to be a correlation between the number of months the guest doesn't "receive benefits" from their membership and their retention rate. This is great news for us. I'd be curious what this means for "Round 2" of their ride clones then. I feel that the 4D's and S&S's were solid additions. Curious what they choose for this round. I'm also curious if they put an emphasis on infrastructure in the parks.
  12. Claim you have the runs?? "Yes hello roller coaster ride op. Yes I must carry a loose article that is a roll of toilet paper onto this roller coaster because I have the runs and might have to wipe my A$$ while still on the train immediately after I sh*t all over your roller coaster. I heart CP."
  13. I'm sure it's happened. No doubt that CP has been the site of massive stupidity at some point...
  14. Another thing to note with Uber/Lyft is that you'll be adding at least a couple bucks in tolls to the fare as well. It's something to consider.
  15. I couldn't tell if it was an insult, if he was agreeing with me or if it was something in between so I just let it go. I didn't really read it as an insult. You don't have to be a marketing major (though I actually do have 2 marketing degrees) to understand the concept of not being a dick though. No insult intended. I agree 100% with what you posted... Just really amazed that people are having such a hard time grasping what is going on at CP. It's not life or death.
  16. While I can't speak for TPR, it seems pretty straightforward to me so allow me to chime in on that... 1) The rules of the site are the rules of the site and the fact that you don't understand or like the rules doesn't mean you're not obligated to be respectful and follow them. Let's get that out of the way first... 2) But if you really want an explanation, look at it this way... Cedar Point is pretty good to TPR. Tony is a member of the forums, Club TPR has access to their coaster club events, they send TPR footage to share / press releases to post and send them invitations to media days and similar events. This is mutually beneficial to both parties of course, but if the website and the park / chain have a good relationship and the park asks for a small favor regarding Mean Streak then it makes perfect sense that Theme Park Review would respect their wishes. Not only is it good for business, but more importantly it's just a nice thing to do as decent human beings. I see that Bill passed P.R. & Marketing 101... Or he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Either/or.
  17. Is anyone else having flashbacks to MYSPACE
  18. Seeing as that the Boss of this webpage said no, those photos would not be allowed......
  19. So would this mean why Valleyfair, Michigan Adventure, and Dorney Park have been taking so long on cronstruction of all their coaster projects is to have it over serval fiscal periods? Exactly... Every year CF puts a $20 in the jar for these parks. They'll get their coaster soon enough If my math is correct, Dorney should be.... Last new coaster- 2005, hydra. This year- 2017. 2017-2005= 12 years. So, at 20 dollars a year, there will be 240 dollars in Dorneys jar right now. Basing this off of a B&M coaster, going to say the cost of said coaster will be 30,000,000 USD. 30,000,000-240($ already saved)= 29,999,760 dollars to go. 29,999,760/20(money saved per year)=1,499,988. So Dorney will not see its next new coaster for another 1,499,988 years.
