Whizzer is still alive and kickin' at SFGAm.... Great ride for kids/mild thrill seekers! The bobsled coaster you are thinking of there was Rolling Thunder and that was pulled out in the mid-90s. -

2nd the suggestion on waiting on Fast Lane... It takes 5-10 minutes at most to walk up and buy a FL+. Start your day and make a judgment by 1p or so. If lines aren't >20-30 min (or whatever your threshold is) by that point odds are they won't be for the remainder of the day. This early in the year, there is no incentive to plunk down cash ahead of time. (This is assuming there is NOT a price break for advance purchase) -

Yeah, good move. I have the same setup at work, so I end up taking a couple of trips usually. Others are correct about TTD. Ride Corkscrew last; it's the only genuinely bad coaster there. Also, you can't ride Wilderness Run unless you have a child with you. Or you could be a complete credit whore and ask Town Hall for a pass to ride. But only if you care that much about creds; you're better off getting re-rides on Vengeance, the Intamins, Raptor or Magnum. I was denied such a pass for Wilderness Run. They said they only give those in clear cases where an adult has special needs. And there are people here that don't find this weird/creepy -
Umm, they ran Bull with multiple trains during a good chunk of HitP, up to and including 12/30... Same thing with X-Flight.... And Batman... But I'm sure you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night The event was tremendously well attended. Until the public quits showing up on "good weather" days, this event isn't going anywhere. Yes, the park will close due to "weather" (low attendance) several times each HitP season... But the park will make $TEXAS on days where it's 30*F and sunny....

Tickets like this are like Gift Cards in the eyes of Six Flags: They are hoping that people buy them, then forget to use them. The new weather policy aids in that. They hope that you tell yourself that you'll reuse your ticket for a rainy day in June sometime in August, but we all know how our lives can conspire against plans like that... It's a simple step that keeps money coming in and allows a simple mitigation step in dealing with customer complaints/anxieties.

Interesting choice of words... SF always has a huge "MSRP" on their passes that you NEVER have to pay... I'd say that this is just an empty marketing threat. But you might see a ~$100-150 increase in the season FP rate come January. It will cost more, but still will be at a discounted rate compared to the "MSRP" of Season FP...

Depends on your definition of "big".... I can promise that whatever they get in 2020 will be too big to fit inside a 5-gallon bucket... That's pretty big to me -

Again, I don’t disagree that it’s not acceptable. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that when this continues to happen year after year after year (see your post from last year that I just linked to) at some point you need to adjust your expectations or vote with your wallet and stop going. If enthusiasts who should know better keep going and keep acting surprised by this at some point it becomes partially on them. I really have to wonder how many people are speaking with their wallets though... I mean, you figure for every 1 of us (enthusiasts) there are 10-15 "GP'ers"... Those are the people that will rip Guest Services a new one with an experience like ThrillRider's. But the parks are still packed to insane levels, so why should parks raise payroll? It's just flushing profit down the toilet if they are not losing guests because of unsatisfactory experiences. I honestly don't believe that the public has spoken with their wallets yet, so parks will keep on moving forward with the current plan. -

It would be most prevalent when you have significant temperature differences between Lake Erie and the air temperature. Cool air and warm water up the odds significantly, but you also need little wind, and that is the weakest link on the peninsula...
