  1. SFGAm has done well with those Nov. weekends, pending weather. Two years ago saw moderate waits for most rides with temps in the 30's, but sunny conditions. I was honestly surprised at the amount of people that came out. (Random Pro Tip: Ski Goggles work wonders for coasters with temps <40*F ) The Member Appreciation deal is something new for 2019, so not sure if that will bring in more people. They will advertise it to many people so if the weather is decent, I'd expect moderate crowds.
  2. Early October crowds will be significant, especially with weather being nice. As mentioned, the Flash Pass will allow you to "keep moving" but it won't eliminate all waiting. I would go a step further and mention that you are probably looking at 15-40 minutes in real time from when you enter the Flash Pass entrance to when you are walking down the exit ramp. This works quite well with Gold since Platinum FP has the same wait in real time. For Maxx Force, your strategy sounds solid. It's one of those deals where you will just have to bite the bullet and wait 60-90 minutes. Also of note, you might want to head to American Eagle right after Maxx since Eagle doesn't have a Flash Pass lane. With expected crowds, it WILL get a line, possibly over 60 minutes. Since you are traveling with kids, you are going to want to plan your meal strategy in advance. Food service at this park is putrid. During Fright Fest, it's common for food queues to be 60+ minutes. Usually you can leave the park, hit a fast food spot (most major chains are within 10 min of the park), and return in the same amount of time that you would spend inside. Food is almost guaranteed to be higher quality going this route as well. You also have nicer, sit-down options if you want to add an additional 20-30 minutes and relax a bit. Your bill may still come out ahead with the sit-down options. Packing a cooler is also a viable option, as you will see tailgaters here for the above reasons.
  3. No. No one is building another park in the Carolinas, especially after Hard Rock Park crashed, burned, the ashes reignited, and then had someone piss on the ashes...
  4. That's Columbus Day weekend... Historically that is one of the worst weekends to visit any theme park...
  5. But CP is licking their chops at the idea of "Selling Out" of $200 FL+
  6. Putting this here since it pertains to all SF parks: - The chain seems to be discounting the Flash Pass season pass a stupid amount. It's really going to be interesting to see what this does to stand-by lines. You're going to have a huge chunk of people that will have a FP Platinum that didn't before.
  7. If it is indeed an RMC: 90% - Single Rail clone 10% - Unique Ground up construction Seems about the likelihood, no?
  8. None of the Giga's have "ejector" airtime (my opinion) on the drop if that's what you are asking. They are more drawn out, so duration may seem longer. You also have to account for the obvious psychological impacts the sheer height will throw in there if you haven't been on something that tall before.
  9. That's exactly how it works. with passes vs daily admissions. Sacrifice a quarter to make a dollar.
  10. I was laughing so hard at that Falcon's Flight animation. Imagine hitting 200 mph only to hit an unbanked turn directly after. Um, it's not 200mph.... You do know the difference between Kilometers per hour and Miles per hour right? Or have we not gotten to that class in high school yet? ...oops, genuinely thought it said mph instead of mph. My bad, I didn’t even see that. Do you really have to be rude about it though? So what if someone makes a mistake once in a while? You're picking apart an animation of a coaster that is a minimum of 3-4 years away from construction starting. I think your mistakes are fair game to pick off...

  12. How do the economics of Middle Eastern parks work out so they can stay in business? I get that there is money, but that wealth seems to be spread among very few people. Do existing parks draw a reasonable amount of patrons or are these parks just put there to show the rest of the world that the Middle East is "cool" like the rest of the world? (in the same vein as China's expansion over the past 30 years).
  13. Enthusiasts gonna enthusiast.... Another RMC isn't happening at this park... Eagle is starting to really show it's age however, so that is where all this is coming from. The fact that it appears we're just getting a water park addition for next week is also throwing fuel on the fire because enthusiasts are entitled morons. God forbid a park doesn't install a coaster that rips your face off every season
  14. You have seen American Eagle's queue, right? Yes. And Viper, Superman, Raging Bull, Maxx Force, X-Flight... Scream, X2, Goliath, Riddler... The Boss, Mr. Freeze, etc., etc. Notice a pattern? It’s not a space issue, it’s a Six Flags design feature. And a horrible way to treat paying customers. You're right... Every queue should be 10' long... And have the line spill out into the midway and clog up the midway... We get it... You hate SFGAm. You've repeatedly posted that you're "Done with SFGAm" for the next few years. Please stop bitching just to bitch.
  15. They ain't gonna have two RMC's a 30 second walk from each other... Just sayin'
  16. I dunno if that would be logical from an engineering standpoint. You would basically be splitting the current structure in half since you would have significant differences in the tracks as far as location and height. From there you have to consider structures ability to take the loading. Not saying engineers can't come up with something, but on it's face it seems like quite the task. Yeah, as a non-engineer myself, that's what seemed likely to me. It was just this vision that came through my head as I was watching that video, of half the track behind him being RMC, and it made me go "hmmm..." Definitely seems very unlikely to ever happen. It's be an interesting concept for sure... Do the 1st lap in "classic" mode, following the current layout, then in lap 2, go full RMC. Basically 2 distinct rides in under 5 minutes. You couldn't race with this, as you'd have 2 very different layouts. I'd also wonder if the switch to I-box or Topper Track would change the "classic" side as far as speed and forces generated. I mean, you could have a ton of fun with a glass smooth, quick helix on American Eagle for sure.

  18. Um nothing? I'm not sure why this rumor of stripped down to them just getting rid of passes is still out there. In fact they added some extra perks to the passes this year. Such as? What was added? They've shown that they prefer memberships over passes...
  19. I'm curious to see what perks they stripped away from the passes. Specifically if a season pass will become usable at just a single park.
  20. I don't think you can change your park because each park sets their own price. You would probably have to cancel your current membership and purchase a SFStL one.
  21. Woof. Wonder if that brings $200 into the discussion for Haunt
  22. FL+ appears very valuable today as according to queue-times.com, Maverick, Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Valravn are all pulling 90+ minute waits. Also, several rides that usually don't have much in the way of lines, such as Corkscrew, Gemini, Iron Dragon (which doesn't have Fast Lane), Magnum, and Rougarou, are each pulling around 45 minutes. Yep... I'd have gotten my $$$ worth by using it, but it gave an inch, so Karen is gonna Karen the hell out of it and try and take a mile... Just her wording she used and the fact that she had a 48"+ kid with her made her fit the stereotype to a T so I had to point it out
  23. Apparently the entire value of FL+ is tied to Steel Vengeance according to the Karen in the comments on Twitter
  24. TPR does a pretty good job of keeping the most "enthusiastic" enthusiasts away and we're all fine with that
