  1. This sounds like good news for them. I could imagine a few more coasters going from that park too, in the next few years.
  2. I can't decide if i'm happy or not. I wonder what S:ROS and Mind Eraser's names will change to. I'd imagine Boomerang will have to drop "coast to coaster". I don't think Viper's would have to change....and Predator is the only Predator, so I don't think they'd change that one.
  3. Cedar Point from the other side of the water is beautiful, especially at night. Also, when you're on your way there, and you can see the taller rides testing. Darien Lake (i know it's a little bias) is also cool because you're absolutely in the middle of nowhere and then S:ROS just pops out of nowhere.
  4. It's like when people say the Georgia Mindbender has three inversions because of the horizontal loop.... Actually though, that little overbank right there is IMO the least painful element of the SLC layout, other than maybe the drop.
  5. Darien Lake....obviously Superman, by a huge margin. Then in number two, Viper, also by a huge margin.
  6. I'll be going to Virginia this year. Busch Gardens is definitely on the list, but i'm hoping to be able to do Kings Dominion too. Already been to SFA, no thanks. And then of course at least one trip to the parks around here (Darien Lake, Martin's Fantasy Island, Seabreeze, Marineland) I wish I had waited a year to get to Cedar Point becuase now i'm not going to be able to try the Maverick any time soon. If we go to Florida, maybe Universal, but that's doubtful.
  7. It actually just happened to me on my last visit to Darien Lake. It was the last day of the season and of course, only S:ROS, Viper, and Boomerang were running, and running one train each. This made for some lines.... But anyway, on Viper, two people asked if they could get in front of us. We said yes, but then the train stopped on the MCBR for about a half hour. Good call on that one.
  8. I can think of some.... Viper at Darien Lake- It may be an old Arrow Looper, but it still runs smooth. For being so old, it has an interesting layout and decent length. Easily Darien's second best coaster. Iron Dragon at Cedar Point- Yes, it is a bit boring on the first half....and nowhere near as good as the one at PCW. Still, it's not bad for an "intermediate" thrill ride, as CP's site calls it. It's not rough or painful either.
  9. Definitely Iron Dragon....^he gets it though right?
  10. I would do Corkscrew first at Cedar Point. It's a little rough, but there are more painful Arrow loopers than this. It's just more boring than anything. It would be a good one to start your day off with though. I didn't find Mantis to be nearly as rough as people say it is, but Raptor is still the better of the two Sandusky B&M's.
  11. The only things I can think of when I remember Shockwave are "big" and "rough". I was only 12 and not so into coasters, but that was probably the worst coaster of my day at SFGAm. It's funny, Demon stands out in my memory as being on of my favorite rides of the day, when it's just a smaller, themed version of Shockwave.
  12. Millennium Force is number one for me. I found there to be much more to the ride than "just the drop" (the best floater at at Cedar Point), but the drop definitely still is the highlight.
  13. That's definitely not a stupid question....He just wants to know, that's all. It's more than just B&M though. Any company can do that. Even Arrow, even though they always seem to go dip THEN turn (like they're designed in RCT or something). It just helps the ride to fit in the alotted space.
  14. Mantis and any Boomerang i've been on are extremely forceful. Millennium Force had a decent amount of forces to it as well.
  15. Wow cool to see Shockwave in it's prime. That ride sure was a beast, painful as it was. It looks like they did a great job of running three trains, at least.
  16. 1.Millennium Force 2.Magnum XL-200 3.Superman: Ride of Steel (Darien Lake) 4.Superman: Ride of Steel (America) 5.Top Thrill Dragster 6.Raptor 7.Joker's Jinx 8.Gemini 9.Batwing (SFA) 10.Raging Bull
  17. Wow this sounds like it will be great fun. I'll probably be sending my deposit soon....for the midwest trip that is.
  18. Oh I love that coaster. It's the only looping Schwarzkopf i've been on, and when I went to Hershey in '97, that was actually probably the best coaster they had. Although I loved Comet too....and Wildcat.
  19. ^^ Haha yeah, hopefully they'll remove Kumba or Montu instead. (Dripping with sarcasm, for those who couldn't tell) Maybe they can sell Python to some small park and those with Arrow Corkscrew fetishes can still get their fix. I can't imagine who would want it though.
  20. Darien Lake's Viper does that to me every time I ride it. I try to leave myself a bit of room, but they always click again in the loop. Those are the worst cars on the planet, even the Cedar Point Corkscrew has more padding than that. Either your shoulders get it, or your back does. What a poor design.
  21. I've done Batwing and Tomb Raider Batwing wins, but I don't like how they stuck regular inversions in it, and make it so you're like laying down more than you're flying.
  22. A lot of older coasters have it too, like some of the Arrows and Vekomas from the seventies and eighties. The main drops are better when they're taken quickly like that, there's no dragging on the lift.
  23. I thought every coaster at Cedar Point looked very nice and was in a nice setting. Magnum and Wicked Twister by the beach are probably my favorites though.
  24. 1.Raptor 2.Batman at SFGAm Then come the Mind Erasers
  25. The only things that actually get me "Scared" as in actually nervous would be launches. Dragster comes to mind.
