Got ya, but I'm a dad of 2 little kids...don't tell me that your on a 90 minute wait for a ride, your on line for about an hour, your 3 year old says she has to go the bathroom really, REALLY bad and you, being a guy that goes by the rules, do the "right thing", GET OUT of the line and lose that whole hour. I'm courteous...but a REALIST. I don't wanna hear that "entitlement" baloney. Your right Ginzo..either she's looking to either sue Disney or score herself some FREE annual passes for the next 5-10 years for her "inconvenience".

I remember when this incident actually HAPPENED over a year ago & there was a good discussion on these boards. There was also a thread in which I claimed I sometimes go to the bathroom or get a drink & join my party back on the line & some of you TPRs REALLY got heated about that since I was (and STILL) "line jump" as you guys defined it. If its ONE or at the most TWO people (especially if one is a child, which is usually the case with me), I think that's really petty. It must've been a hot, humid day at WDW & the lady was in a BAD mood. A shame really. Dang, but if she gets YEARS in jail over the incident...wowsers! I have a feeling there was some "smack talk" on BOTH ends which led to the fight. U don't just start swinging because someone ONLY cut you off. Judging from the 2nd article, I believe Disney is as much to blame as the crazy patron. The police should've been called in...period. Either that or the "victim" is GREATLY exagerrating the fight & her injuries. I honestly can't see ANYTHING on those pictures.

Dang, for an indoor theme park, I find it a bit outragous! Shoot, I average about $89 a year for my PREFERRED Universal Annual Pass and that INCLUDES both parks (USF & IOA) & free parking. the guy has every reason to have a fit over the price increase. Especially if he was a pass holder previously. Just another victim of inflation? Maybe. Its getting hard to "enjoy" yourself nowadays isn't it?

The place is "typically" a ghost town. But on a weekday in February no park in Florida is ripping at the seams. Great pictures...its still the only theme park in Florida that has rides that give me motion sickness...I guess I can't hang with the carnival style rides anymore. -
Paint me ignorant, but I've HEARD of Dubai in news & articles here & there, but never really knew WHERE it was (I knew it was near Iran somewhere) & what the "deal" with the country is. Been doing some reading & it looks like this is a BIG score for BEC to build on that island. the publicity alone is gonna make 'em that much richer. I always picture myself retiring in some (safe) foreign country & living somewhere "different" like this...having a BG so close by would make it feel like home (Tampa).

Shame on you...you never read Dr. Seuss' the Sneetches?!?! Great story, even for adults, it has a great moral that applies to real life that I won't spoil here. Great pics...Yes, late January & February are THEE times to come to Florida..the theme parks are just a liiiiitle emptier. Come late March its over like Rover! I just went this past Saturday for the Mardi Gras (mainly for the parade). Got there at about 11:00am from Tampa & the place was surprisingly empty...but as soon as 8pm rolled around the crowds were CRAZY! I was like "where the heck were these people earlier?" The Go-Gos were playing and the crowd from the stage to the street near the Monster's Cafe was literally overflowing...for the GO GOs!?!?!? I can only imagine the crowd for bigger acts like Heart & LL Cool J. -
How do you save money at a park?
freestylenut replied to palmerleeberry's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice "ice water" tip...though if an attendant is not too busy, it doesn't hurt to sometimes ask them to "give" you some ice once the cup is empty. When I worked at BGA I did it all the time...its a bother if there are 20 people in line though. Also, if you got kids...BRING them snacks. Make a microwave popcorn, bring some Oreos (they fill the kid's up more than other cookies), some fruit & fruit juices...saves you a bundle on "I want popcorn!", etc. Usually we limit ourselves to at least ONE meal within the park...we usually wait til after we leave to grab dinner. -
Cypress Gardens has new managment
freestylenut replied to CoasterJunkie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Universal? Why Universal's attendance? They're currently offering an annual pass for $79.95. I'd bite if it included parking...and a guarantee the park won't CLOSE from one week to the next. Something that stuck out last time I visited (Dec 06) was the bathrooms. The MAIN bathroom (near the front entrance) looked like a public park bathroom. -
Orlando's Dixie Stampede CLOSES!
freestylenut replied to pianojohn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What a shame! Its not like that dang outlet has really good deals anywho. They're comparable to any local mall as far as prices go (maybe a couple of dollars saving at most). Oh well, people be shoooooppppiiiin'! You can't stop people from shopping girl! -
If the guy DID in fact pee his pants, his friends were kind of jerks for laughing & bothering him the way they did...not to mention the video is on the net. Jeez! All of us have our embarrassing moments...hasn't anyone had a cold before & laughed out a booger at the most embarrassing time? It happened to ME once.

Orlando's Dixie Stampede CLOSES!
freestylenut replied to pianojohn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, how shocking! Never been, but I always drive by the place on the way to the Orlando theme parks from Tampa. I always looked forward to their beautiful Christmas Tree during the holidays. I wouldn't be surprised either the Outlets will extend or a Time-Share condo will go up. R.I.P. Dixie Stampede -

I'm new to all of this...is there something wrong/corrupted with the European Walt Disney World's? What gives? -

Still, it looked like it was just you 3 guys in the WHOLE park that day. Great time for re-rides. Though I can vouch, we went to Universal mid week early Deember & the place was eerily quiet. -
People Watching.....
freestylenut replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That was a hilarious commercial. I've seen Goths actually come out of the water rides looking like that...makeup running and all. I noticed a GREAT time of year to people watch is THIS month at Universal during Macy's...U know how U have to kind of get dibbs on your area before the parade? Well we got ours an hour before the parade & just watching all the people walk by for an hour...its great! Hotties (always the best), a bratty kid giving his mother a hard time (even hitting her at one point...looks like "time out" isn't working), MORE hotties, guys with funny looking pants & yet even MORE hotties. -

Hey, you were there the same day as me & my fam! We went mainly for the Grinchmas & Macy's Parade! I thought I saw some of your Yellow loud shirts around the park. Did U do the Grinch show? Looks like they based it off the broadway play moreso than the Jim Carrey movie...still, it an upgrade from last year & the new "if U have a child, you get to sit up front" thing worked out PERFECTLY for us. -
I went this past weekend (even stayed overnight Saturday). The ride itself was OK... (spoilers) ...lots of in-movie footage which is basically a shortened version of the movie. I guess I was silly for thinking maybe some unique train type footage would be used. The SETS were the best part of the "experience". Lots of giant gifts, boarding the PE also was a kick due to the sights & sounds (outside the kid's house was awesome) & getting to the North Pole was equally as nice. Complete with Christmas Tree right out of the movie and Santa with sled & giant bag of Toys. (end Spoilers) All in all, a good experience. Warning though, my daughter couldn't ride (and, unfortunately, she loves the movie) as the height requirement is 42" (bummer) & bring a sweater...it can get pretty cold in there. I only waited 15 minutes, but I'm sure as the month wears on, that wait time will change.

http://www.terrorinorlando.com/index.shtml I stayed in Orlando over the weekend and was glancing over my visitors booklet (on my way BACk to Tampa unfortunately) and ran into an ad for these guys. 2 Haunted Houses under 1 roof! I can't get enough haunted attraction goodness and since Orlando has lost Terror On Church Street & Skull Kingdom, I thought they would've gone the way of the dodo. I see that I was (gladly) wrong. Anyone hit this yet? Or even heard of it?

BGA and IOA: A photo trip review
freestylenut replied to jten11's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great TPR! Looks like U had a blast! I was at IOA & USF Wednesday Nov 14th & the place was EMPTY! Man, I love going on days like this. There was NO wait for anything. Including Spider-man, which always has a minimum of 15 minutes whenever I go there. Me & my daughter had a blast...riding & re-riding rides all across both parks. -
BAD Hotels/Motels near parks
freestylenut replied to piers's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pretty much any Days Inn around I-Drive & parts of Kissimmee are pretty seedy. The one across from Universal had some black cornered ceilings & spider-webs. And of course, the bathrooms are always pretty disgusting. I usually stay there as a last resort. -
I've been going to HHN since HHN III and indeed, the alcohol stands have been OUTRAGEOUS over the last few years. Universal must make a ton of cash because it almost seemed EVERYONE was drinking when I went on 10/7. And like Jew says, I dug the Thing house, but it was hardly my favorite & didn't offer me any scares at all. The sets & props were probably the best of all the houses (next to Dead Silence).

As an Universal AP holder, one of the things that keeps me from riding this thing everytime I'm there is the semi-boring pre-shows. If there was a way to skip some of teh rooms & just ride the train, I would've done it more. Though this was indeed a sudden closure. I was planning on going there this coming Monday and experiencing "the big one" (no sexual remarks please). So I guess Charleston Heston is 86'd for Steve Carrell or something?
