  1. Are you referring to Storm Force Accelarator? If so, I agree. When it was added, I was like "WTF?" I honestly didn't notice it until MUCH later on since its kind of in a corner between the Fantastic 4 restuarant & Hulk coaster.
  2. Ha, I got punched in the face last night! It was an accident , the guy didn't see me + he was REALLY, REALLY sorry so I just let it go, but it woke me up for sure!
  3. MAN! Just wanted to VENT! Last Friday one of the guests stepped on my foot...it was legitimate accident but my foot has NOT recovered since last week and it hurts to walk on it, much less run or "jump" (which is needed for my position). I called my stage manager tonight to see if they can switch position to one with a little less "footwork"...she sends me to Health Services and she says they might accomodate me at ANOTHER house or even make me a HOST! Argh! I'll quit before that have me wearing one of those red shirts for more than one night!
  4. Let me be the first to say it, but most of these "themed" restaurants sound like snoozers to me. I am interested in that T-Rex one though...my son would LOVE that!
  5. How were the crowds on Saturday? Did you get to see at least 4 houses? I used to do Saturdays, but about 6 or 7 HHNs ago I said "fuhgetaboutit"! I can't imagine spending over $120 each (admission & express) to go on a peak night...Universal has gotten RIDICULOUS on the pricing! Just wanted to comment that many HOS scare actors had the same idea of going on the ONE night HOS is off and HHN was going...10/7! I met at least 4 other fellow HOS scare actors that night. We all knew each other because we wore our staff HOS shirt. We didn't even PLAN it like that. Great minds think alike I reckon.
  6. Brave little tike! He looks HAPPY to be on those coasters! My now 3-year old girl goes back & forth...the other day at BGA she wanted to ride Scorpion! Of course, she was 2 inches too short (42 inches req'd), but when we go to Seaworld she won't ride the Shamu coaster! I can't understand toddlers man!
  7. As a scare actor at HOS, Thursday would be IDEAL for anyone to head to HOS! The crowds on THIS day might be heavier than most other Thursdays (since its the closest to Halloween), but at least HALF the crowds on ANY Friday or Saturday. Great pick! And if you're there early, you should have plenty of time to do houses again or do some nighttime coaster riding.
  8. Chance doesn't lip-synch either. I found the show entertaining, personally. Certainly moreso than The Arrival or Terra Throne. Saw the show I missed on YouTube...I know, its not the same as being there in person, but I honestly don't think I missed a whole lot & am glad the Jack show is the one I skipped that night because Rocky Horror SO kicked a$$!!!
  9. True, but the walls, the paintings, the costumes...I've been to several 3D houses at HHN in prior years, but this is the closest its come to HOS's 3D house. Ready for work tomorrow? I'm NOT! I get so TIRED doing my scare...I'm usually a zombie at work the next day.
  10. I have no idea...the lights seem to have gone out in a section or something. Its a first that I'VE seen in 14 years I've been attending HHN. It screwed up my night and made me miss the Jack show I mentioned above. Thanks thefitness...I didn't even think of youtube. I'll look for it & see what I missed. slayrate is right, F13 AND Club Vampyre are NOT good if there is still daylight!!! (luckily I did F13 at night, but Vampyre has an outside scene that would've benefitted from nighttime).
  11. *SOME SPOILERS* I went to HHN Sunday 10/7 WITH an express pass. The good news...I did all the haunted houses. The bad...Jack's Funhouse "broke down" for an hour...because of this it messed up my ENTIRE plan schedule and we had to miss ONE show, which happened to be Jack's Carnival of Carnage...if anyone who saw it can give post a spoiler review here or PM me on it, I'd appreciate it. LOVED: -Dead Silence (my fav, maybe I'm biased cause I love the movie) -Elm Street -Texas Chainsaw Massacre (gave me ONE of ONLY TWO legitimate scares all night) -Friday The 13th (loved the 80s Harry Manfredini score playing throughout the house) -The Thing (great props/sets). DIDN'T CARE FOR: -Psychoscarepy (Christmas isn't scary) -Vampyre (they did it better when it was near Twister a few years back. Seemd to take a cue from After Hours at HOS at BGA.) -Jack's Funhouse (not only was THIS house the one that messed up my schedule, it wasn't even that good. Too bright and TOO much like 3D at HOS as well.) -B&T show was good...but I've seen better. Too many TV references (I swear the audience didn't recognize Sylar from Heroes as no one reacted...an NBC shameless plug). -Freakshow freaked me out. The EVP part was my OTHER scare of the night. There was some kind of fight or something at the show I was at it distracted a lot of us for about 5 minutes. -Rocky Horror kicks a$$! I LOVE the music and this was right up my alley. I HATE, repeat HATE Universal's midnight closings on offpeak nights. What gives???!!!??? If I had done Jack's Funhouse when I planned it, I would've been able to see everything HHN, but one goof (Universal's fault by the way) and I miss a show. Again, the place was mad crowded and it was humid as heck...it made for an uncomfortable evening. If U've never been, HIGH recommend. Now on MY 14th year...I might start skipping a year or two.
  12. Just went to HHN this past Sunday (10/7) and I think they kinda ripped us off. Club Vampire is After Hours 3D Clownhouse is 3D Radiation Alert! What gives?!?! And yes, Slacking, this past Saturday (10/6) was one of the slowest Saturdays I can remember. I'm sure this next Saturday is going to pick up.
  13. It was retarded of BGA to do LAST weekend for 3 days, and THIS weekend for only 2 (and no Sunday). Last Sunday (9/30) my stage manager said BGA didn't even make its budget back for Sunday, so they actually took a LOSS. Today might be pretty empty too...its raining in a lot of parts of Tampa today. Less work for me I reckon. I was gonna hit ZooBoo tonight...but decided against it because of the weather. I just checked their schedule and their open Thursday 10/11!!! I'm all over it!!!
  14. I saw this and had to recheck my "scare" schedule again. I was like "say what? I'm working this Sunday?" If U can go tonight the park should be pretty bare. Tomorrow will be another story...Saturdays are always packed.
  15. Sorry to hear some employes gave you a hard time. It sometimes add to your "non-enjoyment" of the event and sets the tone when your treated like a child. The event is a little unorganized this year. My wife & family came Saturday and they let everyone through the gate at 7:10....only to be "barricaded" at the shops area in the front of the park (???) She said after about 15 minutes the incoming crowd just overcrowded that little spot and she was none to happy...I think it set the tone for the rest of the night because they said they were simply "dissapointed" with the event this year (despite my scaring them in MY house). As for the 1 or 2 scare actors comments...our stage manager has already brought it up to our attention, the scare actors at my house really held back Friday & Saturday and they were called out on it! We've had more than 1 complaint about hardly any scares in our house (not sure about the others). I know the "redneck" that works the Alien in the 3D house (those of you who went know what I'm talking about) has a GREAT scare and she straight up SUCKS at it which is a shame!!! As for this... Its probably because they're not getting paid for doing it...they're volunteer hours.
  16. So what did U think of HOS Florida420? Man, if there was EVER a night to go to HOS, it would've been yesterday (Sunday), the place was a GHOST town (no pun intended). Great for scares. Just to cry on everyone's shoulder, I'm sore as heck this morning. I need to pace myself going forward. Quick tip...do Catch Your Breath after DARK! Had soem family that did the house (which is in a tent) with the sun setting and it ruined a lot of the scares. i did it at my brake yesterday (at about 9pm) and I LOVED it!
  17. I would've gone this Friday had the AP event been FREE or INCLUDED for Preferred AP holders (I think Premium APs are free). Well, I just spent me a crack over $400 for 6 tickets and 6 express passes. I'll DEFINITELY be going 10/7/2007. Here's hoping for good weather, etc.
  18. 1. Don't know yet, never did my walkthrough of the other houses (it was on Thursday..and UNPAID. So I said "fuhgetaboutit". 2. Weather so far is fine outside. Looks like the opener should be neato. 3. I wish I can hook MYSELF up with a nurse dag nab it!!! Hey Homer, I've gone to ZooBoo the last 3 years. Its a fun event. Although it doesn't look like much is changing this year from last. I see the Living Mannequin house is back (cool house) along with the Midway and the Museum (another cool house). I'd be going just to do the new Pirate themed house...I was supposed to go tonight with my kids in tow (yup, I was contemplating calling in at HOS), but my honey is sick and other family members had other things to do. High recommend if your in Tampa AND/OR have kids you wanna get used to scare houses. My 6-year old was really BUMMED when he found out we weren't going tonight. I might do it next week. Check out the link people: http://www.lowryparkzoo.com/zooboo/index.html
  19. Dead Silence the movie was bad??? Different strokes for different folks I guess as I found it to be one of the BEST horror movies in the last 5 years. The mood, the atmosphere, the music...reminded me of the good 'ol days of horror where it wasn't an all out gore fest or a torture flick. Needless to say its the house I'm MOST looking forward to.
  20. I've been reading up on WWW's plan, opening & eventual demise and it seems like a sad story indeed (especially for those owners who now have to sell their restaurant and home to save face). I found some pics online of the park...and I thought Cypress Gardens was bad. Putting myself in those opening day pics, I'm not a bit surprised the place didn't stay open a whole year. As many have said, $25.50 is a little steep for a couple of carnival rides. The fact that it was raining on media day made my heart go out to the owners...God didn't seem to want people to go WWW either. I think it simply boiled down to BAD business decisions. Not necessarily 2 months of bad weather. U can't expect your park to have near sell-out crowds every day...I sometimes think that's what the owners expected.
  21. I TRYYY to hit the BG garage just because its a shorter walk and since I'm originally from NYC, I am VERY impatient when it comes to waiting for that Tram for anything more than 5 minutes. But during the event I usually park at Tree Tops anyway. Speaking of After Hours, aren't U guys supposed to do a walkthrough of OUR house and vice versa? My stage manager mentioned it the 1st night, but not this past Saturday.
  22. Me again...ha ha! Got the last dress rehearsal tonight. Is yours tonight also Slacking? I'm wondering if I should try to find parking the BG garage (which is small & only 2 floors). What shift R U ? 1 or 2? I'm shift 1.
  23. Did my 1st house walkthrough on Tuesday. The 3D house got about a 60% overhall. Looks good. A lot of the corny pictures are gone...and lots of DOORWAYS have been put in their place. I'll be a "polka-dot"..meaning one of the guys that mixes with the background in the dreaded polka-dot area (lol). I'll be more "exposed" to the public than last year, so here's hoping I don't get assaulted by drunk guests.
  24. I was lucky enough to do Skull Kingdom more than once. The last time, sometime early last year. We even took my son with us on the last visit who was 5 at the time (the scares were tamed down due to him being with us too). I remember getting a BIG kick out of it the first time I did it about 4-5 years ago, but last year...it just felt "plain". Like a hamburger with no cheese or ketchup. You know? We stayed at Gaylord Palms about a month ago and when we were driving to an outlet plaza (the one at the end of International Drive), I told my family "look to the left for a spooky house"...lo & behold to our surprise, the building was GONE! After my return to Tampa I HAD to get online & see what the heck happened & was saddened to read it closed & all props went up to auction. There's even video of it being knocked down on YouTube if you look for it! R.I.P. Skull Kingdom.
  25. Awefully nice of the costume actor to comply, but with the proper editing of that video, it STILL makes for a potential lawsuit...especially if there are no witnesses to her asking Pluto beforehand.
