SFNE removing five rides this winter.....
YoshiFan replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I expect that to get a ton of backlash. If they make everyone use the test seat that will slow down the line and if they make only people who appear to be "questionable" about fitting on the ride, that is also going to cause problems. People are going to be singled out which they aren't going to like, especially those that know they can fit. -
A 20GB PS3 last night from EBGames.com, it was $403.xx with tax and shipping. My PS2 is broken and I figured this was the best deal I was going to get on a new PS3 system that has full backwards compatibility since only the 20GB and 60GB offer that and bother are discontinued.

Six Flags Photo Card Policy Ripoff
YoshiFan replied to milst1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think it was an isolated case: http://www.gadv.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13135 http://www.gadv.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13119 "Next we hit Nitro. Walk on 7th row. Milder today but still fun. Photo lady was misinformed. She claimed we couldn't use the card unless we were buying the photo." -

This will make the ride a lot better. I last rode Great Nor'Easter in 2006 and if it is considered one of the smoother SLC's, I'd hate to ride a "bad" SLC. My shoulders hurt for a while after the ride. Hopefully I'll get there next year and try it out if they are added. -
Hersheypark in the Dark

Last year I went on a Saturday. I heard 13,000 were in the park. Great Bear was 15 minutes, Comet was 15 minutes, SDL was a walk on, Lightning Racers was 35 minutes since they only were running 1 train on each side I didn't ride Storm Runner but it looked like it had somewhat of a line. -

Patriot's Plunge now only has single rider rafts. I wonder if that is why. I'll have to try the red slide next summer. -
At Hershey, Wildcat at 11 years old is a little rough and Lightning Racers at 7 years old isn't really rough at all.

Wild Mouse at Dorney, 8:00 p.m. Sunday night, 2nd to last car of the night. -
Here's some number crunching. Figuring a dispatch of a car every 45 seconds, that is 80 dispatches an hour. I am going to figure 1 out of every 2 cars will be going out with an empty seat so every 90 seconds, 7 riders are dispatched. 40 * 7 = 280 riders an hour. Unless there is a single riders line, this is going to have a 2 -3 hour wait easily.

PTR: Dorney Park 9/28/07
YoshiFan replied to CycloneMan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thunderhawk is closed on Friday nights, Saturday it is open 12 - 6, Sunday I think 12 - 8 (closing) since the Fright Zone is not used on Sunday. As for the cold, it shouldn't be a problem but high winds shut down Talon, Hydra and Wild Mouse. Last year on closing weekend, those 3 were closed most of the day on Sunday and everything was running 1 train. -

Looks like a cool ride. The capacity appears to be a problem. Only 3, 12 seat trains and a capacity at 850 an hour? That works out to around 77 dispatches an hour (figuring an average of 11 riders a train with 1 single rider). I don't see that happening. -

Dorney could really use GL's Bumper Cars. Dorney's current bumper cars are basically bumper boats on land (single rider cars) and are horrible, have bad capacity and lots of downtime due to having to refill the cars with gasoline. -

I have yet to still see one available in any store except for Nintendo World in NYC and that is only because they said they get shipments daily. -

That Moser tower at Fantasy Island is great for a kiddie ride. You get 12 drops a cycle and in the middle of the car, I got that stomach dropping feeling on each drop. Too bad the pricing sucks, $3.75 for the Merry Go Round?! (and basically all of the non kiddie rides) -
I like SUF but as others said, the long line makes it not riding. I went to the park on a weekday in April this year and every coaster I went on was a walk on except that ride, even with a 2 train wait it was over 10 minutes. I'm not complaining about a 10 minute wait but that makes me think that even on a somewhat slow day, the line can be 45+ minutes easily.

Winter break Florida trip
YoshiFan replied to Hobbesx2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Christmas Day at parks besides the Magic Kingdom are not that bad. I was at MGM last year on Christmas day and it was somewhat empty. Rock N Rollercoaster was 30 minutes standby, Great Movie Ride was a walk on, Tower of Terror was a walk on (this was at around 5:00 P.M.), Star Tours was 15 minutes etc. It was the few days after that are ridiculous. On Thursday of that week (the 28th I think), those 3 parks did hit capacity though. It was crazy in the difference a few days made. On the 24th, Everest was 20 - 40 standby, on the 29th, it was 85 - 120 standby. -
I think my choice is obvious (he was a cartoon character in the Super Mario World cartoon series)

Cedar Fair 2008 Season Passes
YoshiFan replied to slither37's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm still hoping that for parks not near CP, cheaper options are available. I thought $92 for a Dorney pass (with free parking at Dorney) or $102 for a Maxx Pass (also with the free parking at Dorney) was a great deal and was hoping for similar pricing for 2008.
