  1. And it's nowhere near worth that price, even for a regular family especially since about half the attractions are water park type rides that you can't use all season (though they have them open even in the 60's), and many attractions are playground type ones with a handful of flats and the coaster thrown in.
  2. Playland always has iffy operations early in the season. I'm not surprised the Python was closed but strange to see the Flitzer closed. Was the Runaway Train at Gillian's open or the park open at all?
  3. That's not good to hear, I still hope they manage to get it open this year but from what you said it doesn't sound like it. The park is now advertising 10 coasters so I had thought Laser would be open but not if it is having problems.
  4. 2 hours for Steel Force I would have never expected that, was the line into the 2nd set of switchbacks? I just can't believe it but I guess with 1 train it kills the capacity. Laser is supposed to open by the end of the month. Everyone thought it would be gone this year, it was even left out of the rider guide in 2 spots which seems more than a mistake but the ride will be open at least for this season. I am also not happy to hear about the rain shutting down the coasters. Yeah there was some heavy rain today but it didn't last for that long and didn't seem that bad most of the day (not great perfect walking around weather but it didn't seem to strong). At least you had the chance to get walk ons later in the day.
  5. Sounds like waits were horrible for a weekday in May. 90 minutes - 2 hour waits are very bad considering it's so early in the season. I know it was the opening of TDK and Student Council Day with 4,000 students and some other event but I would have never guessed lines were that bad. Kingda Ka is not worth 2 hours, neither is Superman at 90 minutes (but I don't think either is worth more than 15 minutes) Glad to see you enjoyed Nitro, I think it's the best coaster at the park. Hopefully you'll have better luck with lines tomorrow at Dorney.
  6. Looking at the last picture of the lot, it would appear the park is dead. I guess that's because it was all schools there today
  7. Dorney: 2 adults per car maximum on the Wild Mouse and the added seatbelts. Capacity is around 200 an hour with those rules. Laser, assigned seating even if you are the only one on the train and added seatbelts which slow loading Thunderhawk: trim on the bunny hills Hershey: 1 train only on each side of LR, even on some days when the line is down to the ramp Great Adventure: only opening water rides seasonally, Medusa not opening until 12:00
  8. It's a full day's worth of rides, if there are lines. It's just when you want a break from the coasters, there isn't much else to do. I am worried this summer lines are going to be bad because there isn't a huge selection of rides like there was. The good news is that operations have really been great this year. I have been to the park 4 times this season and Nitro, Medusa and GASM have been running 3 trains except when there are no crowds and they go to 2 trains. I would have liked to met up at Dorney but I have work all weekend Also, if you are trying to get all the credits at Dorney, go to the mouse first if you get there at opening. They have a rule of no more than 2 adults per car, and they added seatbelts so the line crawls. Last week there were maybe 50 people in line and it was close to a 20 minute wait. Everything else should be a walk on
  9. Which is horrible considering they removed a ton of rides from GADV this offseason and for a park with around 10 non coaster non kiddie rides, closing 2 flats in Old Country is ridiculous
  10. ^ That's what I was thinking when reading the post, you could probably get $30 for it on EBay easily.
  11. I have every Tony Hawk game in the main series except for Proving Ground and I was dissapointed with Project 8. It's an ok game, but some the difficulty balance is way off. Each goal has 3 levels, the first one is always very easy, the middle one is somewhat easy and the last one is almost impossible. Some of the objectives are also very fusturating. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it. For racing games, all I have is Ridge Racer 7. It's a fun game especially if you are a fan of the series but it's kind of repetitive.
  12. Good to hear, I remember seeing this sign and thought it was still closed.: http://www.amusementpics.com/SFGANotesSpring08/040508-190.jpg I have been to the park 4 times so far this season and have yet to see it run so I figured it hadn't opened for the season so it's nice that they have been running it, at least a little. Hopefully I'll catch it open before Memorial Day.
  13. The log flume and congo rapids only operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day now. I can understand the rapids but the log flume should have been open by now especially with it getting into the 70's on many days.
  14. The only thing that seems to be different this year is that with all the ride removals, lines for the coasters are getting longer than normal. Superman was almost up to the inside entrance of the line, on a weekday in April! Even GASM was close to the switchbacks. To avoid the food pricing, I go to WaWa and eat before I go into the park, doesn't work so well if you are getting there at opening but it saves me quite a few dollars ($6 or so for a hoagie, chips and a soda versus around $12 for the same food in the park), especially with it being almost weekly trips for now.
  15. Great American Scream Machine around 3 hours ago
  16. ^ Are you sure it was 11:30? I was at the ride at about 11:30 on that day and they wouldn't let anyone in as they said it doesn't open until 12:00. I rode RMT and went back at around 11:50 and they started letting people line up outside the queue. I was the 4th person in line and got out on the first public train of the day a little after 12:00, we saw employees riding while we were waiting
  17. Agreed. Like when BTR at GADV assigned rows, row 2 was flashpass (now it merges. So if you want the front row and don't buy a flashpass, you could end up waiting in a line hours long if people keep coming up with a flashpass.
  18. Hershey got a modern Whip in 1997, it's made by Rideworks and uses cars similar to the new Tilt A Whirl cars. It's not as intense as the one at Dorney and has a ratcheting lap bar that only the opeartor can release with a foot pedal compared to the old ones that you lift up yourself.
  19. No, they stay the same price all day Medusa doesn't open until 12 now, this may or may not change after Memorial Day, Houdini is closed for the season, the Log Flume is closed until Memorial Day (it was 75 and humid last Saturday and would have been nice to ride)
  20. If fire was a concern, I'd hate to see a repeat of the Haunted Castle at GADV even though the situations were different
  21. I filled up today for $3.27 a gallon, crazy that one gas station a minute from my house is $3.49 and 2 minutes away it's $0.22 less a gallon. It's amazing that less than 10 years ago, I remember being in NJ and seeing 88 cents a gallon and then on the drive to WDW, I remember seeing 72 cents a gallon in GA. Now, even $2.00 would seem like a deal.
  22. ^^ Soft Pretzels also went up to $5.99 from $4.99. Butterfly Fries are now $6.99. And new this year is Vitamin Water for $4.00 a bottle. The value deal went up to $149.99 from $99.99. It included admission, flashpass and I think a meal or two plus a game.
  23. Gulliver's Warrington has a policy of no adults being admitted without a kid I am surprised that parks and FEC's have these policies and that they would be willing to lose business because of it. Especially because FEC's aren't just for kids and usually have arcade games and mini golf, batting cages that adults also like. Sesame Place doesn't have that policy though I kind of feel funny going there (last time I was there was when I was 17 since one of my relatives used to be Elmo there and gave us free tickets)
