I normally start my season with Kingda Ka if I don't go to Orlando during the winter. Since Kingda Ka will be closed because of Zumanjaro, my first coaster of 2014 will probably be Nitro.

Maybe a combo indoor water park and amusement park? Whatever it is I hope it involves a coaster other than a kiddie coaster indoors that can operate year round.

Kidz Bop's Move Along was filmed at Dorney and features Steel Force. http://www.kidzbop.com/video/player/121 Obviously not a fan of Kidz Bop but I found out about it years ago on a Dorney fan site when someone asked why camera crews were at the park.

Maybe they could try to run Trailblazer or some more flats next year. I know they don't run the coasters because of the cold weather but Arrow mine trains have some of the lower requirements compared to other coasters (I want to say its 33 degrees but not 100% sure on that) and just have a disclaimer that if the temperature drops below a certain level, it won't run. That would probably help with crowds.

It really annoys me to see when people take cameras/phones out on rides even after being told by the ride ops to put the item away. Most of the time, the person puts the phone in their pocket then as soon as the train is dispatched and out of the station they take the phone back out. I've never seen anyone thrown out of a park for it either like the signs in the queues say will happen if someone is caught with a camera out during a ride.

I'm surprised it took them this long to raise parking to $20 considering Great Adventure was charging $20 for parking since either 2011 or 2012 and raised it to $22 and then in the middle of this past season raised it to $25 (preferred is $35). Since I have always paid for season pass parking and for 2014, have parking with the gold pass it never bothered me especially since at 20+ trips a year, even at $120 for the season pass and parking last year (both were $60 each) it was still a bargain.

I agree, with so many Schwarzkopf coasters being removed from parks, it would be nice to see a US park add one of their coasters since some are listed for sale on those used ride websites.

I think Six Flags Mexico is also open all year.

I'm not a fan of pre-shows at all especially on days when the park is empty and there is no line. It makes getting multiple rides in annoying when you have to wait 10+ minutes in between rides by the time you walk through the queue again, wait for the pre-show doors to open, watch the pre-show and then go to the station.

I was considering going yesterday with it being warmer out than normal but decided against it. Hearing how crowded it was, I'm glad I stayed away since with such few rides open large crowds, it wouldn't have been fun to wait in line all day.

Yeah those trains look very uncomfortable even if the ride layout was tame compared to a regular stand up coaster.

Yeah it took me a while to get used to the controls/gameplay in GTA V. Especially driving since I usually don't use the R2 to accelerate unless I have to so I kept going to push X to drive. It's a money pit type of game. I bought the first game starter set earlier this year when I saw it for $12 at Target figuring I would give the game a try for that price and also thought the 3 included figures would be enough. I didn't realize that certain parts of most levels are locked unless you have a Skylander of a certain element. Even picking up the figures on clearance, I still spend close to $30 on more figures. I'm staying away from Disney Infinity for that reason.

I didn't realize operations were that slow at the park, now I don't feel so bad about driving right past it on the way to Montreal a few years ago without stopping.

At other parks, I sometimes see people rushing to board the coaster train while the air gates are closing. I wonder how many people have been hit with the gates at that coaster.

My favorite is Runaway Mine Train at Great Adventure. I like how it has individual lap bars which are better for taller riders than the original Arrow Mine Train lap bars and how it only has 1 lift hill. I don't like mine trains with multiple lifts since it seems like every time the ride starts to pick up speed, there is a brake run and another lift hill. The layout is really good too with the double helix at the beginning, the banked drop after the MCBR, the small ejector air time hill and the turn right over the water.

I'm surprised it is 48" to ride alone. That seems kind of high for a kiddie coaster.

Pogs, I had a large collection of them and remember back in the 90's, it seemed like you could get them with any design on it you wanted from sports teams to even slammers at a museum or an aquarium themed to the location.

Cedar Fair definitely goes overboard with the height restrictions. I remember hearing when they bought the Paramount parks the mine train at Carowinds went from a 36" requirement to a 48" requirement. That must have been upsetting for kids who used to be able to ride the coaster and then were no longer able to. Even with the old style restraints for Arrow mine trains, Trailblazer at Hershey was 36" (and still is 36" with the new individual lap bars). It's bad for other parks like Dorney too. The only coaster for anyone under 44" is Woodstock's Express and even if someone is 44" and can ride the Wild Mouse, they recently added a rule that you have to be at least 44" and 8 years old so anyone under the age of 8 and under 48" can only ride Woodstock's Express.

It's always good to see parks that don't have maximum height limits on rides like that Roto Whip so anyone who wants to ride it can.

I had another coaster dream last night. I was in the Magic Kingdom and Space Mountain had reopened up with a new track. Instead of a double track it was a single track, with individual cars that only seat 1 rider. After going up the lift hill, I realized it was a spinning coaster and had some out of control spinning that caused me to get dizzy. Also for being a new ride, the coaster was really rough and gave me a headache.

I have only ridden Green Lantern and like the coaster. The first few times I rode the coaster it really hurt my legs but after I got used to the ride it hasn't been a problem and it's a weird feeling to be standing and riding a coaster. Maybe it's because it is the newest coaster at the park but Green Lantern is very popular at Great Adventure and can have one of the longer waits in the park (they usually have 4 people checking restraints so dispatches aren't too bad).

Dorney: A GCI wooden coaster. It has been rumored since 2008 when the park got Possessed instead and after Hercules was removed, the park could use another wooden coaster besides Thunderhawk. Great Adventure: An interactive dark ride. The park has enough coasters and added some flats/non coaster rides recently and a dark ride would help round out the park's collection of rides.

I was also hoping for a March opening after the website for the park said "See you in March" at the end of the season. April 12th was really late for an opening day and I was disappointed about that so the week earlier is a little better.

I don't think so, the park hasn't posted any updates or mentioned anything. Hopefully they start soon. Also it was posted on Great Adventure History that opening day has been moved up to April 5th. I'm glad they decided to do that since April 12th seemed very late for opening day.

Looks like a fun coaster and after watching a POV on YouTube, it looks good that it appears to be completely dark in the indoor portion of the coaster compared to some other coasters where a lot of light gets let in.
