  1. It is supposed to be for passholders only. During the day, it is Physics Day (and some music competitions as well) and they allow those groups to stay into Coasters After Dark but it still isn't crowded and usually by around 7:00, they have their award ceremonies for the music competition in the stunt arena in Movie Town which makes the coasters even less crowded. Most of the schools leave before the event starts though.
  2. I was also there today. It was a little more crowded than normal for Sunday of opening weekend but crowds still were light. My longest wait of the day was 15 minutes for Nitro. They really added a lot more places and choices to use the season dining pass.
  3. Batman The Ride at Great Adventure around 2 hours ago.
  4. Every year I hope they fix the broken effects but if none were working that's even worse. The hologram billboards at the end of the hairpin turns haven't been working for years. Same with the Bat Signal at the end of the ride.
  5. Thanks, I'm glad I don't have to worry about the pass not working or having to re-process the pass to get the new style.
  6. Did anyone go to the park today with a pass they processed last Fall? I was wondering if it was an issue with the biometric scanners using the old style pass with the picture on it (I'm guessing no but just want to try to plan if there will be a problem on my 1st visit to the park).
  7. For Gold pass holders, the gates open at 10:20 instead of 10:30 but rides don't open until 10:30.
  8. The roughest coasters I have ridden are Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, Hercules at Dorney Park and Python at Playland's Castaway Cover (A Pinfari Looper)
  9. SFGAM only allowed 3 adults per car for that reason. Dorney's standard mouse also has a similar weight limit and only allows 2 adults per car.
  10. It does seem strange it isn't getting more attention. Usually the media is all over any kind of ride accident. Maybe because it really isn't park season yet? (not that it should really matter).
  11. Yes Nitro had them for a short time, there is a picture here: http://coastergallery.com/1999/GA67.html
  12. Flash Pass shouldn't be needed. Crowds are usually low until mid June during the week. There are class trips but not many other guests there, you could always get a Flash Pass at the park if it is more crowded than expected.
  13. Most have been moved. The elephant ride moved to Adventure Alley. The ladybugs and kiddie scrambler moved to Safari Kids. The train is supposed to be rebuilt in Looney Tunes Seaport. The kiddie swings probably weren't reinstalled because there is another kiddie swing ride in the Seaport and the only other thing there was the play structures.
  14. They actually have had this sign out at the entrance to the park before the ticket booths since late May or early June last year:
  15. It's a good family ride and very low capacity. When you could drive your car it had almost unlimited capacity. Now with the ride taking up to an hour, and 18 trucks seating 35 riders that's only 630 riders an hour with no empty seats.
  16. The tube slide with the lights looks really cool. I have seen videos of slides with them on YouTube before and it was always something I wanted to try.
  17. I like interactive dark rides because they make me want to try it multiple times a trip to a park (if lines were short enough) to try to get a better score compared to a regular dark ride that I would probably ride maybe once a trip. If a local park that I get to multiple times a season were to add one, I'd probably ride a few extra times a season and not worry about the game play during those rides and just focus on the scenery and theming since I would have so many chances to go to the ride. Of all the interactive dark rides I have tried, the only one I can say that I didn't like at all was the one at Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, NJ but I don't know if it even counts considering it was in the old non enclosed kiddie bumper car ride area and the targets were just lights on monsters that didn't move. It was a Zamperla Alien Invasion ride.
  18. I didn't know Thunderhawk is getting individual lap bars. Yeah they never seem to follow the rules right at Wild Mouse. I have even seen it where there is a parent with a 1 kid boarding 1 row and a single rider sometimes will go to the last row since it's only 2 adults total and then they are told they have to wait for the next car. Also with both magnetic gates opening at once, it looks like you are supposed to go to the row in front of you and not the entire car. Last year I skipped the coaster completely on all my trips because it's not worth waiting for especially when I can ride The Dark Knight at Great Adventure as much as I want.
  19. I like that part of Talon too. Right after that drop is the highly banked turned and then it goes into the final helix. A new wooden coaster would be great, especially if they could somehow get a wooden coaster with a lower height requirement than 48" since they really need another coaster for kids besides Woodstock's Express and Wild Mouse.
  20. It will depend on the weather, if it's warm out everyone will be in WWK and the ride side shouldn't be crowded.
  21. I'd prefer an interactive dark ride over a new coaster, it has been something I have wanted to see the park add for years.
  22. I agree with that, WWK is really a great waterpark for being included with admission to the amusement park. Also very rarely having any lines also is nice knowing that you can go almost anytime and never wait more than 5 - 10 minutes for a coaster.
  23. It wouldn't bother me if they raised prices on peak days. I will never go to a park on a summer weekend or a Saturday when there is a Halloween event running at the park since I have seen enough pictures of those Saturday's and I'd rather not be at a park than stand in 2+ hour lines for a coaster.
  24. RCDB says 1430 riders an hour but I don't think that is accurate. To get that number it would have to dispatch 1 train a minute with no empty seats.
  25. That's good to hear it's not a bad game. I remember the N64/Playstation/Dreamcast South Park games were horrible.
