  1. Great Adventure probably the 3rd or 4th day they are open. Opening day is on Good Friday this year and from going and I am expecting opening day and Saturday to be very crowded so I'd rather wait a couple of extra days to have shorter lines.
  2. I rarely use them (except at Disney) but I think they are good when you are going to a park that you only get to once a year or even less than that. I have never been to Cedar Point and whenever I get there, I'm not going to even think twice about getting Fast Lane since I want to get in as many rides as possible. I wouldn't use them at my home parks because I go so often and if I happen to go on a day it's crowded when I wasn't expecting it to be, I can always just go back another day. Also because at Dorney, you hardly ever see anyone using Fast Lane so it's a non issue there (and lines are almost always short) and at Great Adventure I like how with all coasters except Skull Mountain and Runaway Mine Train, the Flash Pass lines merge at or before the station so you don't have people going up the exit taking your row. The downside to that for Flash Pass users is that they still have somewhat of a wait. At Kingda Ka for example, it could still be a 20 - 25 minute wait after the Flash Pass merge point.
  3. I hope it happens, it would be fun to go to Atlantic City during the off-season and go to a waterpark and also go to the casinos to play slot machines.
  4. I was really impressed with how fast they were dispatching trains at Batman during Fright Fest. There were times the line was past the tunnel and sometimes into the park area (without the covered switchbacks being used) and it was only a 15 minute wait.
  5. Bizarro would be better off running 2 trains, they would save the wear and tear of running the 3rd train and with the double stacking, the 3rd train doesn't help at all. The few times I have seen the ride running 2 trains, it seemed to work better with little to no stacking.
  6. In early June, in past years Castaway Cove and maybe Gillian's too didn't open until later in the day, around 5 or 6. Once they release their 2015 operating calendars I would check them so you don't end up at Ocean City when the parks are closed.
  7. When I was there in 2012, only the Tiger side was running. Since I really like Lightning Racer and find Wildcat ok, I thought Gwazi would be a good coaster especially with the new trains. I couldn't wait for the coaster to get to the final brake run because of how rough it was. Even if the Lion side had been running, I don't think I would have gone to it. It's a shame they aren't going to demolish it right away.
  8. B&M - Nitro Intamin - El Toro
  9. El Toro at Great Adventure, it was the only coaster I rode in 2014 that was a new credit for me.
  10. Green Lantern and Zumanjaro have them. Green Lantern's isn't until almost the end of the queue so it doesn't save that much time especially if the line is out of the station and on the stairs.
  11. Were the trains on Blackbeard's going out all 10 first row full? If not, maybe they were concerned about the train valleying because of the weather if there were only a few riders and they all went to the back of the train. I have always seen them allow people to sit anywhere on the train even with the train is going out with mostly empty rows except I think last year on a day it was really cold outside and they did the same thing of only loading the front half of the train.
  12. This offseason I am considering buying an annual pass to an indoor water park an hour away. I like water slides almost as much as coasters and it will probably be fun to go to a waterpark in January when it is 30 degrees outside.
  13. On the 2nd page of the thread last December I said Nitro would be my first coaster of 2014 and that ended up being correct. I had hoped Nitro would also be my last coaster of 2014 but hearing how long lines were at Great Adventure today, I went to Dorney instead and Talon was my last coaster of 2014.
  14. Talon around 3 hours ago. I finished the 2014 season with a solo ride on the coaster.
  15. If someone would have said that of the 5 Friday nights the park is open in October, Halloween night would be the least crowded, I wouldn't have believed it. I haven't waked more than a 5 minutes for anything the entire night when I thought by 7, it would be very crowded.
  16. Crowds weren't too bad tonight, my longest wait was around 30 minutes for Nitro. Kingda Ka and El Toro were both listed on the closed rides board before opening, but both rides opened a little after opening. It looked like all ride lines closed 20 - 25 minutes early. By 11:35, Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro both had their lines closed for the night and checking other rides they looked like they had not just recently closed (lights off in the station or flat rides with lights off).
  17. Great Adventure, 120 times since 2008 (first year I had a season pass) and probably around 15 times before that.
  18. Even with Dorney only 45 minutes away from me, without Wildwater Kingdom being open I rarely feel like visiting in the spring and fall. Talon, Steel Force and Possessed are usually the only coasters I feel like I need to ride more than once per trip. Usually I ride Hydra and Thunderhawk once per trip and other than a handful of non coaster rides I try to get in every time I am usually done with the ride side in 2 to 3 hours, compared to a park like Great Adventure where I spent 6 1/2 hours at last week and still wanted to keep riding coasters. I skip Wild Mouse besides the horrible operations, the brakes are painful and even if Stinger was open, it has too much headbanging for me to go to it more than once or twice a season.
  19. They changed the opening to 5:30 on Friday nights a couple of years ago. I don't like the rope drop by the fountain and they had it better set up last year. They didn't open the gates to the park until 5:30 and gold passholders had their own entrance gates which opened at 5:20 so there was no crowding at the fountain with everyone trying to push past each other.
  20. Dorney - Hydra, Stinger, Laser, Thunderhawk Great Adventure - Barman The Ride, Bizarro, Skull Mountain, Scream Machine, Runaway Mine Train I want to eventually get solo rides on everything at Great Adventure except Kingda Ka (since they won't dispatch the train with 1 rider).
  21. Absolutely: Great Adventure Dorney Park Probably: Playland's Castaway Cove Gillian's Wonderland Pier Hersheypark Knoebels Maybe: Busch Gardens Williamsburg King's Dominion I'm hoping to get to more parks next year compared to this year. I only got to Great Adventure and Dorney this year although I got to both parks many times this year.
  22. It looked like rides didn't close early today. I got to Kingda Ka at 9:40 hoping it was still open and it had just reopened either because of rain or a breakdown. Crowds weren't too bad today. I got there at 4:30 and some rides were 30 to 40 minutes and around 7, most rides were no more than 10 to 15 minutes and Zumanjaro was a walk on right before closing.
  23. That is strange they closed Kingda Ka's line early since they also did the same thing at The Dark Knight at 11:15. I'm used to seeing lines closed 2 to 5 minutes before closing but not 20 to 45 minutes early.
  24. Tonight wasn't as crowded as last Friday night and it seemed like lines were only bad from around 7:45 to 10. I'm glad it didn't rain at all. I looked but didn't see you.
