  1. A Schwarzkopf would be a great addition, I had originally hoped they might buy Laser when it was removed from Dorney and with it for sale again, they could still get it or some other Schwarzkopf looping coaster.
  2. Chickie's & Pete's will probably be very popular. Whenever I drive past any of their locations near me they are always crowded and the ones on the Boardwalk like in Ocean City, NJ almost always have long lines for the fries. I wonder how much they are going to charge compared to a non park location. The last time I went to one of their restaurant's, the burgers, sandwiches and cheese steaks were almost $9 without fries.
  3. I've seen a few Lego rides before but never that many different kinds especially all in 1 room. It's cool how they all fold up and into the trucks.
  4. It looks like it will end up being a very nice water park. That kids area looks like it has more slides than others.
  5. I got my box today and there were so many cool items. Thank You Robb and Elissa. Opening the box DVD's, Chap Stick, Intamin Pen, S&S Pen, TPR Pen iTunes Gift Card, Geauga Lake Keychain and Magnets, Ornament, Buttons, Carabiner Clip, and another DVD TPR Bag, Vekoma Shirt, West Coast Bash Shirt and a TPR Shirt. A lot of park brochures and maps. I can't wait to look through all of them. West Coast Bash Landyard, Cooling Towel, Deep South Bash Cup, Premier Landyard, Poncho, TPR Mints, Plush Keychain, Cars 2 Vehicle, Stickers, Insane Coaster Wars Magnet, Money Holder John Carter Movie Poster and Vinlymation Postcard, Outlaw Run Newspaper, Proslide Catalog, Mack Catalog, Maurer Söhne Catalog
  6. That's good to hear, I have Mario Kart 7 but opened it just to get the Club Nintendo code and register the game and only played the game once just to make sure it worked. Once I finish Mario Kart Wii, I'll look forward to playing Mario Kart 7.
  7. Since Mario Kart 8 is be released this year I thought I should play through Mario Kart Wii. I got the game years ago and only played it a few times because I hate the controls with the steering wheel or using the Remote and Nunchuk. Since I got the Classic Controller last year, I decided to give the game another chance and it's a lot more fun using a regular controller but still really frustrating getting hit with a blue shell on the final lap right at the finish line and then dropping out of 1st place. I also got Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence for PS2 around 6 or 7 years ago and thought I should try to complete it (I ended up restarting the game since I was only an hour into it the first time I played it). I don't like it as much as MGS 1 or 2 but still think it's a decent game.
  8. I haven't ridden a lot of water slides ( the only waterparks I have been to are Blizzard Beach, Sesame Place and Wildwater Kingdom). The worst waterslide I have tried is green slide of Wildwater Rapids at Dorney. It's a very short slide, and water is hitting your face almost the entire time and it's usually painful when you hit the water because it is so fast. It's the turquoise enclosed body slide in the picture below. The other 3 slides at Wildwater Rapids and the 3 Patriot's Plunge slides are all great though, especially the red Patriot's Plunge slide with the double down.
  9. I'd prefer forces and air time over theming. I like theming but would rather see the money spent on theming towards a better ride experience.
  10. Awesome photos, it looks a lot cooler than a regular 4D coaster.
  11. I'd agree with Disney being the best. I have never seen anyone turned away from a ride there although they don't have anything really extreme that would force them to use more restrictive restraints.
  12. Great Adventure has a large outlet mall about 2 miles from the park. They actually used to be called Six Flags Outlets (or something similar) until a few years ago. Dorney has Iron Pigs baseball (AAA Affiliate of the Phillies) about 20 minutes away and Sands Bethlehem also around 20 minutes away with a casino and outlet mall. Hershey has a lot of attractions near the park. There is the Hershey Gardens, Hershey Museum, Zoo America (I know some might consider it part of the theme park though since it's free with admission to the theme park) and Chocolate World.
  13. I remember the advertisements for Bizarro. The "all new" Bizarro coaster. It actually did convince some people it was a new coaster from what I remember hearing from other guests in the park in 2009. I was surprised nothing from Adventure Alley was ready for opening day in 2012. I was expecting Air Jumbo and Deja Vu to be open (although I only cared about Deja Vu)
  14. Sesame Place, 30 minutes Dorney Park, 45 minutes Great Adventure, 50 minutes
  15. Now Great Adventure History has posted that opening day was pushed back to April 12th again.
  16. We've also been there a few times with the temperatures in the low 30's, including the last day of the season a few years ago when there was snow on the ground and everything was open. Was that the day you were talking about in your post by any chance? Yeah I was there that day. I called before going to make sure the coasters were still running. Also the Friday night of closing weekend this year it was also in the mid 30s.
  17. I'm glad other parks in the area aren't so strict. Dorney runs their coasters in the 40s and I have seen Great Adventure run all the coasters even when the temperature was just over 30 degrees. With Springtime In The Park not starting until April 12th, hopefully the temperatures won't be a problem.
  18. Dreamflight to Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin
  19. If it was like Possessed's holding brake, it was a lot of fun and scary the first few times to be stopped facing down for a second or two. It's too bad they removed it, maybe one day they can add it back?
  20. I use YouTube the most, almost every day. I don't use any of the other choices except Facebook occasionally (I usually log into my account couple of times a month).
  21. I don't think the number of trains running usually matters since it almost always runs 1 train and the trim is on most of the time. Sometimes the weather is really cold then will turn the trim off, otherwise it just seems random and once in a while you can ride the coaster with the trim off in normal weather.
  22. The trim brake at the bunny hills on Thunderhawk at Dorney. You used to get some decent air time on those hills now you barely get lifted out your seat. I'm not sure if it counts or not but seatbelts being added to all coasters in Ocean City, NJ after the Wild Wonder accident in 1999. Before that accident, the Schwarzkopf City Jet at Gillian's, Miler Mouse and Fliter and Playland all ran without any kind of restraints at all and it was cool to be riding a coaster with no restraint.
  23. Best new credits: 1. Sky Rocket 2. Thunderbolt 3. Racer (Kennywood) Best overall: 1. Nitro 2. Batman The Ride 3. Bizarro (Great Adventure)
  24. It's a shame to hear how badly run the park is. I had always thought that it appeared to be one of the better parks in the chain but after reading the last couple of pages of the thread and seeing what people said when TPR was there this year, it sounds like they really need to change their operations.
  25. Diet Coke
