  1. I remember the advertisements for Bizarro. The "all new" Bizarro coaster. It actually did convince some people it was a new coaster from what I remember hearing from other guests in the park in 2009. I was surprised nothing from Adventure Alley was ready for opening day in 2012. I was expecting Air Jumbo and Deja Vu to be open (although I only cared about Deja Vu)
  2. Sesame Place, 30 minutes Dorney Park, 45 minutes Great Adventure, 50 minutes
  3. Now Great Adventure History has posted that opening day was pushed back to April 12th again.
  4. We've also been there a few times with the temperatures in the low 30's, including the last day of the season a few years ago when there was snow on the ground and everything was open. Was that the day you were talking about in your post by any chance? Yeah I was there that day. I called before going to make sure the coasters were still running. Also the Friday night of closing weekend this year it was also in the mid 30s.
  5. I'm glad other parks in the area aren't so strict. Dorney runs their coasters in the 40s and I have seen Great Adventure run all the coasters even when the temperature was just over 30 degrees. With Springtime In The Park not starting until April 12th, hopefully the temperatures won't be a problem.
  6. Dreamflight to Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin
  7. If it was like Possessed's holding brake, it was a lot of fun and scary the first few times to be stopped facing down for a second or two. It's too bad they removed it, maybe one day they can add it back?
  8. I use YouTube the most, almost every day. I don't use any of the other choices except Facebook occasionally (I usually log into my account couple of times a month).
  9. I don't think the number of trains running usually matters since it almost always runs 1 train and the trim is on most of the time. Sometimes the weather is really cold then will turn the trim off, otherwise it just seems random and once in a while you can ride the coaster with the trim off in normal weather.
  10. The trim brake at the bunny hills on Thunderhawk at Dorney. You used to get some decent air time on those hills now you barely get lifted out your seat. I'm not sure if it counts or not but seatbelts being added to all coasters in Ocean City, NJ after the Wild Wonder accident in 1999. Before that accident, the Schwarzkopf City Jet at Gillian's, Miler Mouse and Fliter and Playland all ran without any kind of restraints at all and it was cool to be riding a coaster with no restraint.
  11. Best new credits: 1. Sky Rocket 2. Thunderbolt 3. Racer (Kennywood) Best overall: 1. Nitro 2. Batman The Ride 3. Bizarro (Great Adventure)
  12. It's a shame to hear how badly run the park is. I had always thought that it appeared to be one of the better parks in the chain but after reading the last couple of pages of the thread and seeing what people said when TPR was there this year, it sounds like they really need to change their operations.
  13. Diet Coke
  14. I normally start my season with Kingda Ka if I don't go to Orlando during the winter. Since Kingda Ka will be closed because of Zumanjaro, my first coaster of 2014 will probably be Nitro.
  15. Maybe a combo indoor water park and amusement park? Whatever it is I hope it involves a coaster other than a kiddie coaster indoors that can operate year round.
  16. Kidz Bop's Move Along was filmed at Dorney and features Steel Force. http://www.kidzbop.com/video/player/121 Obviously not a fan of Kidz Bop but I found out about it years ago on a Dorney fan site when someone asked why camera crews were at the park.
  17. Maybe they could try to run Trailblazer or some more flats next year. I know they don't run the coasters because of the cold weather but Arrow mine trains have some of the lower requirements compared to other coasters (I want to say its 33 degrees but not 100% sure on that) and just have a disclaimer that if the temperature drops below a certain level, it won't run. That would probably help with crowds.
  18. It really annoys me to see when people take cameras/phones out on rides even after being told by the ride ops to put the item away. Most of the time, the person puts the phone in their pocket then as soon as the train is dispatched and out of the station they take the phone back out. I've never seen anyone thrown out of a park for it either like the signs in the queues say will happen if someone is caught with a camera out during a ride.
  19. I'm surprised it took them this long to raise parking to $20 considering Great Adventure was charging $20 for parking since either 2011 or 2012 and raised it to $22 and then in the middle of this past season raised it to $25 (preferred is $35). Since I have always paid for season pass parking and for 2014, have parking with the gold pass it never bothered me especially since at 20+ trips a year, even at $120 for the season pass and parking last year (both were $60 each) it was still a bargain.
  20. I agree, with so many Schwarzkopf coasters being removed from parks, it would be nice to see a US park add one of their coasters since some are listed for sale on those used ride websites.
  21. I think Six Flags Mexico is also open all year.
  22. I'm not a fan of pre-shows at all especially on days when the park is empty and there is no line. It makes getting multiple rides in annoying when you have to wait 10+ minutes in between rides by the time you walk through the queue again, wait for the pre-show doors to open, watch the pre-show and then go to the station.
  23. I was considering going yesterday with it being warmer out than normal but decided against it. Hearing how crowded it was, I'm glad I stayed away since with such few rides open large crowds, it wouldn't have been fun to wait in line all day.
  24. Yeah those trains look very uncomfortable even if the ride layout was tame compared to a regular stand up coaster.
  25. Yeah it took me a while to get used to the controls/gameplay in GTA V. Especially driving since I usually don't use the R2 to accelerate unless I have to so I kept going to push X to drive. It's a money pit type of game. I bought the first game starter set earlier this year when I saw it for $12 at Target figuring I would give the game a try for that price and also thought the 3 included figures would be enough. I didn't realize that certain parts of most levels are locked unless you have a Skylander of a certain element. Even picking up the figures on clearance, I still spend close to $30 on more figures. I'm staying away from Disney Infinity for that reason.
