  1. I agree the park has gotten better. I had such a bad trip to the park in 2002, that I stayed away in 2003 - 2006. Then I decided to give the park another chance in 2007. I had the total opposite visit compared to 2002 that I decided to get a season pass in 2008 and have gotten a season pass every year since then. Now it's rare to see 1 train on any coaster that has multiple trains except on days the park is so empty that even with 1 train, it isn't going out full and the park is a lot cleaner than it used to be.
  2. Burgers, burritos are good too though.
  3. I don't know how true it is but a while ago I remember hearing that before Red Zone took over, the plan was to retheme.or add to the theme a section of the park each year. They had started with Golden Kingdom in 2005 and then Plaza Del Carnaval the year after but that was the end of it after the change in management. If it was true, it's a shame it didn't work out because if the entire park was themed as nice as those 2 sections it would have been awesome.
  4. I saw Coheed and Cambria at the House of Blues at Showboat in Atlantic City. It's one of my favorite places to see a concert because it's a small venue so all the seats are good. Plus parking is usually cheap at $5 and even better they had a promotion that month for free parking at Showboat.
  5. Amazon is where I did all my Black Friday shopping. I will not go out to the stores and fight the crowds or wait in line for hours to get a doorbuster. Last Thanksgiving on the way home from dinner at my Aunt and Uncle's house, we drove by Best Buy and even 3 hours before opening the line was wrapped all the way around the building. No item was worth that line. I shop for gifts all year and can generally find deals that are just as good as the ones as on Black Friday if not better by going to sites like SlickDeals.
  6. Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry
  7. As long as you avoid Saturday's, Hersheypark in the Dark is one of the best times of the year to go to the park. Almost half price admission compared to the summer and other than the water rides everything is open plus low crowds on Friday or Sunday.
  8. Yes, when the ride opened for part of the first year they had seatbelts that attached to the lap bar from the seat. A picture is here: http://coastergallery.com/1999/GA67.html
  9. I'm hoping that the B&M hypers at the SF parks don't get seatbelts. On my final trip to Great Adventure this year, I couldn't believe how fast they were dispatching the trains at Nitro and I timed it to see how long it was taking. It was averaging 70 - 80 seconds. The line almost never stopped moving and even with the line to the entrance (with no switchbacks used) it took 25 minutes. With seatbelts, it would probably take twice as long to dispatch the trains.
  10. I missed that credit by a few months when I visited the park in 2000 before it opened. Even though I drive past the park many times each year on the way to Atlantic City, I can't get myself to pay the $22 to get in just for the credit.
  11. Also Skull Mountain and The Dark Knight. With Road Runner Railway with a 36" requirement, Blackbeard's with a 41" requirement, The Dark Knight with a 42" requirement and Skull Mountain and Runaway Mine Train with a 44" requirement there are a lot of good coasters for kids to start out with and work their way up to the more extreme rides compared to other parks in the area like Dorney where the only coaster for a kid under 44" is Woodstock's Express and then there is Thunderhawk at 48" (and Wild Mouse but even if a kid meets the height requirement there was a rule added last year you have to be at least 8 years old to ride the coaster).
  12. My favorite dark ride is Peter Pan's Flight at the Magic Kingdom. I have always liked the ride since I always look forward to the part of the ride where you fly over London at night with all the buildings lit up and the cars moving on the streets.
  13. All that flipping looks amazing but there is no way I would try it. I won't even try a regular Top Spin. It would be cool to see in person though.
  14. They should have never painted it yellow with Nitro right next to it and just kept the track black.
  15. I don't know if they would use a single rider line well. When I rode Skyrush, I was a single rider and there were 3 people waiting for row 2 so I thought I would be put in their row when I got to the ride op assigning rows. Instead I was told to go to row 7 and no one else was sent there so I had the whole row to myself. If there had been a long line, I could see that being annoying to see all those empty seats going out.
  16. It's like that with Nitro's lifthill too. You can see log flume boats, rafts from the rapids, some of the old Looney Tunes Seaport figures, a Glow in the Park parade float and some other stuff. I don't mind it too much but I hated seeing the parade float out there all rusty since I was disappointed when the got rid of the parade.
  17. Out of all of the decisions that have been made at this park over the years, this is by far the most disappointing for me. There is a ton of potential over there. Heck, even if they just opened it up just so there is another route to get over to MovieTown that would be great. I really liked the feel of the area walking through there. It was like old Great Adventure, and now it is all closed off. It is really disappointing. I agree. Even without a lot of rides in the area I really liked the Old Country section of the park. I know they aren't going to reopen Autobahn with new bumper cars and Music Express isn't in operating condition but it would be nice if they bought a couple of flat rides and put them in those spots and re-opened the area.
  18. I would buy a lifetime pass for a chain like Six Flags or Cedar Fair. Even if they charged over $1000 - $2000 it would be worth it to me. If I buy a Dorney pass for 2014, that is $810 I have spent so far since 2006 on season passes (averaging $90 a year) and I don't see myself not buying season passes to the local parks anytime soon.
  19. Cedar Fair: Talon Six Flags: Nitro SeaWorld Entertainment: Montu Universal: Dueling Dragons Fire Disney Parks: Expedition Everest
  20. Boomerang? - Sea Serpent at Morey's, August 2005 Invertigo? - Stinger at Dorney, April 2012 SLC? - Great Nor'Easter at Morey's, August 2005 Roller Skater? - Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom, December 1996
  21. I have only ridden coasters in the US and Canada. Unfortunately I was just starting to ride coasters when I went to Canada so the only coasters I rode in Canada were Ghoster Coaster at Canada's Wonderland and a Zamperla Dragon at Centreville
  22. Definitely: Great Adventure Dorney Gillian's Wonderland Pier Playland's Castaway Cove Likely: Hersheypark Hopefully: Knoebels I'm also hopeful I'll get some unplanned park trips in next year. Like this past season, I ended up going to Kennywood when my family took a trip to Pittsburgh which was a last minute trip.
  23. That's how the lift was when I rode the coaster at the end of October as well.
  24. I have ridden a bunch of kiddie coasters, sometimes as solo rider. That's not too bad I guess since they have been coasters that don't have a maximum height requirement. I need every credit I can get.
  25. All I bring is my wallet, keys, and phone. I have shorts with zippered pockets so I don't have to worry about losing anything while riding a coaster.
