  1. ^Or severe brain damage from riding too many... I kid! Togo Stand-Ups are awesome
  2. Oh yeah, I'd mentioned it in the longer version, but forgot to add it to this one Basically its because that texture is pretty close to Sidewinders actual train and I don't know how to make skins for NL1 trains... So for now cars are going to be either standard or once of the skins NL1 comes with
  3. As many as possible before it gets boring Alright so today I bring you a recreation of Sidewinder at Elitch Gardens, Denver, Co... I had written out this long thought-out post, but unfortunately the website reloaded and it deleted most of the post . So this coaster will just be Screen-shots, however if your interested in the coaster or want to see it in action I'll upload it to the Game Exchange. So this recreation is unique in the it is realistic, the first launch pulls .65 G's, the max speed is 45 MPH, max G-force is 4(.3), and the height of the coaster is 56.45 ft. Some of those are just happy accidents, but in any case it turned out beautifully. The loop is a little messed up though, so if someone could give me some tips on how to work with inversions I'd be really grateful. Anyways here are some screenshots... Enjoy! From above Side View, looks really good far away First Launch, this one is a winch (Chained) launch while the second one is a drive-wheel launch/brake combination Another overview, this is my favorite Screen-shot of this coaster Shows how messed up the loop is, seriously, if you get how this game works and could give me some pointers I'd make my day (or night) At this angle the loop looks pretty good . REALISM The second launch... Oh yeah, at this point the coaster also crashes about 1/50 times due to how the game works. Its a small bug, but if you reload the coaster typically it won't do it again for a while. The loop also looks good here, maybe I didn't do too bad of a job on it? The final pop of airtime going into the brakes/station/launch... Well that's all for this coaster, if you liked it it'll be in the Game Exchange. If you didn't comment and say so and I'll try and make something more difficult next time
  4. Wow! These are all great . Everything seems to scale and for the most part the supports are correct! The only thing that stood out to me was the lift supports on Diamond back, but besides that it seems pretty spot on! I don't even mind if Diamondback's lift was messed up since its so increadibly wonky in real life anyways
  5. Well I've taken a major break from RCT3 to move onto an even older game! I'm of course talking about NoLimits 1 the best piece of software I've had the pleasure of using! Since I'm still REALLY bad at using it don't expect anything spectacular for a long time, but I'll use this thread to periodically post coasters that I've created or designs I've copied from existing coasters... The first coaster I'm going to post is an Intamin LIM Launched Coaster Second Coaster: Sidewinder Elitch Gardens Third Coaster: F'ed Up Euro-Fighter 320+ Fourth Coaster: Airshock (Custom GCI Woodie) Fifth Coaster: SilverArrow 2.0 (Custom Schwarzkopf) Sixth Coaster: Iron Man? (Working Title...) General Overview, its pretty basic but onride it has all of the elements that make great coasters (Ejecter Air, Floater Air, G-Forces, and the train almost stalls at the top of the loop, who doesn't love that! ) There's that wonderful loop stall I was talking about! A dash of ejector air 120 Degree over-banked curve that's very reminiscent of B&M hypers... 87 Degree Drop after the MCBR, the back rows get a good amount of ejector air here too! The evil Zero-g Roll that originally pulled like 2.9 Lateral G's . Now pulling an acceptable .8 G's and being run at an appropriate speed... And the final floater hill into the brakes! Not bad for a first coaster, but I hope to get some feedback to get better... Or to get some ideas for future coaster creations. Next I think I might move onto an Arrow or Vekoma of some sort, maybe a generic Double Corkscrew or a custom looper if that ends up being too difficult... Well, I guess this will start the thread. I hope you all like it and would like to see more!
  6. Behemoth also means monstrously large or intimidating... So I think what the guy was saying was "What's that huge coaster with the Superman logo?"
  7. Cedar Fair: Diamondback (KI) Six Flags: Bizarro (NE) Hershey Resorts and Entertainment: Lightning Racer (HP <-Obviously) Seaworld Entertainment: Montu (BGT) Palace Entertainment: Polar Coaster (Story Land, the only park I've been to that's owned by Palace) Disney: Space Mountain (WDW... For being forty years old as of this coming January its still such a kick-a$$ ride) Universal: Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket (USF) Merlin Entertainment: Coastersaurus (LF) Independant: Yankee Cannonball (CLP)
  8. The Incredible Hulk... I was 8 so I rode it back in 2006. I ended up riding Dragon Challenge later in the day, but the Hulk was my first B&M. It also happens to be my least favorite, but that's due to an incident that happened in 2011
  9. Well alrighty then May 25th, 1985- Hey there!, 1985 is finally here after what feels like forever! The park definitely delivered with the new tallest rollercoaster in the Carolinas! Take that Carowinds... The view from the parking lot has a very welcome new member However the front entrance still has its same classic charm. Its hard to believe that this park is 35 years old this year and still looks so good. Peace and quiet until opening day crowds arrive I noticed that the park put up some signs on refreshment stands... I don't know why they put one up on this building though, no idea what they were thinking there... (Note to self: Take down sign on building! ) Kiddie-Land still as colorful as ever! I'm glad you love Voltage, Bush... Now this is interesting, its a Scrambler on the Roof. There are bathrooms downstairs too, its an interesting combination. Oh yeah, the scrambler also gets like a foot away from the edge so it feels like your about to get chucked off the roof every time your on the outside... Its awesome! Dodgems and food. A match made in heaven... There it is! The parks baby, Voltage . You can only see the "Batwing" in this picture, but since its the best part of the ride you don't really need to see the rest... Just kidding The station is a little sparce, but its clean and nicely landscaped... Fortunately since Voltage had zero line running THREE trains the queue didn't need much shade. Voltage is a looks a lot taller up close! That loop has to be at least 60 ft tall... Batwinging across the coast! Complete overview of the ride, with stats... As you might notice the design of this ride borrows heavily from Viper, another Arrow Mega-Looper. However the batwing next to the path is from Vortex. This coaster is shorter than Vortex in height and both in length though, at 2,900 ft long and 122 ft tall. With a max speed of 52 mph its also faster than Viper... In my opinion it does have a very Arrow-y design though so it feels realistic! Turbo-Looper with its typical long line A better picture of the Scrambler. A "full train" getting off of Voltage... Don't let it fool you, its a bit of a crown muncher. Kiddie-land absolutely packed! Even the Antique Cars had a line... The park started to get really full at about 1 PM Voltage showing the signs of a crowded day The teacups ended up getting a wait time of about 35 minutes or so... Insane for a kiddie ride The Dodgems were slightly less bad with only a 20 minute wait And speaking of wait times here comes the CCP king! Turbo Looper! Which ended up breaking down Well I ran out of film here . The night got progressively better though, Wooden Warrior closed and reopened at 8:15 so I got rerides until about 8:45 when I ran over and rode Voltage at night... It was amazing! Can't wait to see what next year holds! - Michael June 3rd, 1985 Well, I went over to the library and they had the latest aerial photographs from the park! Here they are... The first seems to be an offset picture to show the relative height... Voltage is almost as tall as the Observation Tower! The second one shows how massive the new expansion was though... Holy Cow the park looks like it almost doubled in size! Oh yeah, my mom also got me this postcard from the park... Its pretty awesome
  10. ^Seems like it unfortunately... I'm really glad Kings Dominion is keeping their stand-up for at least a little longer... Carowinds also has a stand-up BTW
  11. Epcot (Food and Wine Festival) has the best food of any amusement park ever, although they always seem to mess up German and Japanese food. Super sweet potato pancakes and prepackaged sushi aren't really ethnically accurate, but overall the food is by far the best!
  12. The actual translated name of this coaster is "Long Steel Roller Coaster of Suspension"
  13. No problem, just hit post reply and then post an update... Remember to only post no more than one update per day (24 hours or so) and to add at least three pictures per update... As far as I know answering questions/adding to discussion on the thread doesn't count as posting an update, but try not to excessively post/bump or else its just annoying for all of the forum members (We like to see CONTENT!) Oh, one last thing. If you want to start a discussion on something make sure to search for it first to make sure you aren't starting a new thread for something that already has one. -Glad to help Cmbgo12
  14. Storm Runner at Hershey Park... This was before Fahrenheit was built so somewhere around 2007 or so
  15. Just post updates here: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=68954 Then you won't be banned...
  16. I agree with both of you on Hershey's Wildcat, a lot of people on this site bash it, I can't see why since it's a pretty solid woodie... That being said Gwazi (A coaster with a similar history in a different climate) and Hurler are the roughest and worst woodies I've ever ridden. Vortex or Anaconda take the cake for the roughest steel coasters even though they aren't that rough, it's those transitions that really kill ya.
  17. Canobie Corkscrew... I also rode it 21 times before that My last "new" credit was the front row of Beast during midnight ERT at Banshee Bash. It was also the best ride on any coaster I've ever been on.
  18. 1900's- Leap the Dips (Lakemont Park) 1930's- Yankee Cannonball (Canobie Lake Park) 1940's- Comet (Hershey Park) 1950's- Big Dipper (Camden Park) 1960's- Swamp Fox (Family Kingdom) 1970's- Tie, between Loch Ness Monster, and Beast (Busch Gardens Williamsburg & Kings Island) 1980's- Big Bad Wolf, Why did Busch Gardens get rid of this coaster?!? Grizzly would be my favorite woodie though. (BGW & Kings Dominion) 1990's- Montu... Hands down the best invert ever built even after riding Banshee about a dozen times. Honorable mention to the Bat/Flight Deck and Apollo's Chariot. Wildcat would be my favorite woodie from this time. (BGT, Kings Island, BGW & Hershey) 2000's- Diamondback, also probably my number one steel coaster ever... This coaster kicks so much butt, I can't wait to get an amazing B&M closer to me though (Fury325 is only 2.5 hours away ). Lightning Racer is my favorite woodie from this time, also my favorite woodie ever. With Wildcat and Grizzly following close behind... (Kings Island and Hershey) 2010's- I305, mind blowing speed form start to finish... But a very one trick pony if you ask me... Wooden Warrior is the only woodie I've ridden from this decade (Kings Dominion and Quassy)
  19. Wow! From the pictures I've seen from Tivoli Gardens I though the ride was just a themed Screamin' Swing and went all the way around... Holy crap was I wrong about that
  20. 1- Art 2 (Intermediate) 2- Honors Chemistry 3- AP Human Geography 4- Spanish 1 ...It's only been 5 days so far, but I already regret the decision to take only Honors and AP classes this year ...
  21. Nokia Lumia 1020, honestly one of the best phones I've ever owned. Windows Phone 8.1 is by far the smoothest, cleanest and least battery draining of all the OS's. And the 41 MP camera (7728 x 5368 pixels) is always a plus ... The downsides are - 1. Because the camera is so bulky the phone has an awkward mound on the back and the phone won't lie flat 2. It's a bit expensive and difficult to fix if you crack the screen (Fortunately Nokia (Microsoft) is amazing with repairs and will often just fix it for you)
  22. Invertigo at Kings Island made me increadibly dizzy, like so dizzy I could barely walk straight... It's the only ride that's ever done that to me. It also gave me a pounding headache, but that just because its a Vekoma
  23. The new teaser posters on the parks fence are making me very excited! Yes I'm ready, just tell me the name of the new coaster already..! Ooo, this new coaster looks really tall... and is that a loop I see? Whoo, a name has finally been released! Looks like the coaster is themed to electricity? That should be interesting to see...
  24. Best- Wood: Lightning Racer. Hands down best ending on a wooden coaster ever. Twisting crossovers and bunny hops into dueling helixes then a race up an airtime filled double-up to the finish line... Perfection in its greatest form Steel: Tie between Shockwave, Intimidator 305, and Montu. All are great in their own ways... Shockwave is great because of how cheap and primitive it feels compared to most other coasters, those two little bunny hops before the brake run were just so bizarre feeling I couldn't help but laugh. It also helps that I absolutely LOVE stand-up coasters, especially Togo's Intimidator 305 is great because of how unrelenting it is all the way up to the brakes, I seriously can't remember most of the coaster from the first hill after the drop to the surprisingly quick slowdown right before the station! Montu is probably my all-time favorite Invert, and it's totally unique ending definitely makes it the cream of the crop. Lamest Wood: Big Dipper at Camden Park had a pretty lame ending, just starts picking speed then a pop of airtime and whoosh into the brakes. Fortunately the ejector air in the back row on the "Big Dip" totally made up for the lackluster rest of the ride... Steel: Verbolten has a pretty poor ending, it was great on Big Bad Wolf, but on Verbolten it just feels out of place. Would've been better if they'd came up with a more unique second half. Storm Runner also has a pretty poor ending, but that's more because it feels super short not really that lame...
  25. I don't think so... Its actually almost identical to Grizzly at KD. The only differences are the settings and the trains they use (KD uses PTC and CGA uses Morgan), although I personally believe that if CGA switched to the lighter PTC trains then their Grizzly wouldn't be a complete snooze-fest and most definitely wouldn't be rated as one of the worst wooden coasters in the world...
