Are Alpine Coasters credits?
Cmbgo12 replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Personally I count them. I mean, saying you don't count them would be like saying you didn't count Mack or Intamin bobsled coasters because they didn't have any track... Even though they are both very much rollercoasters. However, I won't/don't count Alpine Slides, Mack Water Coasters (Or most other water rides), or log flumes. Since they aren't rollercoasters. Oh, and to me racing rollercoasters definitely count as one credit. -

I swear I'm the only one that likes Boomerangs... Even the "roughest" ones like those at Hershey and SFNE -
Pretty unconventional top ten, but understandable due to the low credit count 6/10

[NL1] Cmbgo12's Crappy Creations!
Cmbgo12 replied to Cmbgo12's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
For this one I just used the premade element Alright well its currently been over a month since my last update, so today I bring something that ended up taking way longer than expected. An updated version of the Schwarzkopf SilverArrow! Creatively named the SilverArrow 2.0. Anyways, sorry for the long wait here it is! (Now with video!) The first thing you might notice is that this version is much taller standing at approximately 78 ft compared to the original at 60 ft. It also features a larger loop than the original. The turnaround after the loop is also different from the original as it is only a turn around and doesn't go 360 degrees as the original did. However, after the new MCBR is still threads the loop! The the train goes through a banked turn, over an airtime hill, through another turn, and into the brake-run. Making this version about 400 ft longer than the original while still fitting in approximately the same perimeter. Lifthill Porn. Curved first drop! Tons of head choppers (But still plenty of a factor of safety!) Through the loop! More head-choppers! From above From the good side! From the not-so-good side And from the other good side! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Hope you all enjoyed this coaster... And while the next coaster is already finished I won't be able to post it until I get back from Christmas Vacation. So until then Ill give one hint: The crow caws from the creek bed. -

Nearly a mirror image of Grizzly at Kings Dominion. Uses Morgan Trains. Was rated as one of the worst wooden coasters in the world for a while. Next Coaster: Fahrenheit at Hershey Park -
I'm not sure why not either but in any case whatever they did with that ride worked. I don't know if they sold their soul to the devil, prayed for guidance from the Intamin gods or what but that ride is ridiculously awesome and smooth despite some really bold, fast paced elements that would be nightmarish on any other Arrow. Arrow sold its soul to the devil to bring us Alan Schike, which isn't a bad trade in my opinion. He's also the reason that Road Runner Express at Fiesta Texas is much better than all other Arrow Mine Trains...

^ Would that make the one in Austria the Weiner Tickler?

When I rode it, it was terribly rough, one of my least favorite coasters in the park I would agree with this... I usually like Arrow's (even Anaconda that's hated by pretty much everyone) but Vortex is terrible and that wild-mouse style turn into the mid course shouldn't be allowed to exist. ^This and that god-awful transition into the batwing are possibly the worst moments on any coaster that I've ever ridden. And thats including Anaconda, Mind Eraser (SFNE), and Hurler... That being said Hurler is still by far the roughest coaster, and I would not wish it upon even the most vile of my enemies...

Soo... I finally got around to building a woodie. I've named it Airshock, hope you all like it! Its a custom GCI woodie with 3 Millennium Flyer trains, its max speed is 58 MPH (93 kM/h) its 4160 ft long and is 126 ft tall (38.4 meters). At max it pulls 4.2 G's, both at bottom of the first drop and during the 360 degree helix about mid-way through the ride. Whooo airtime on the first drop! Its quite quick... And not afraid to get forceful Take the tunnel! Artsy I went back and added steel for the many, many cross-overs Under-the-over-banked-turn The only point of ejector air on the entire ride... Helix of intense G-Forces, and a little bit of death. This... uhh... thing. ~Mind your head~ I kinda messed up the banking here, so while it looks pretty good it has some insane laterals (Like 1.2 G's ) Over-the-under-the-over-banked-curve! I banked the airtime hills, just cuz... Into the brakes! Now for some overviews of Airshock Station and the second half The first half from on top of the lift hill... Looking down the lift hill Aerial Overview of the first half Aerial Overview of the second half Hope you all enjoyed Airshock! -

Wow, that video is incredibly painful to watch. Agreed But in one of the pictures it looked like they planned on keeping Cliffhanger so at least we can all look forward to that! -
How do you watch full-length videos/movies?
Cmbgo12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. How do you most often watch videos? (DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital Download, Streaming.) Streaming 2. What streaming services do you use the most? At the moment none, but I'm thinking about getting Netflix 3. How many DVDs or Blu-Rays do you buy a year on average? Maybe two, probably less... 4. Do you use a device like Apple TV, Roku, or Chromecast? Nope 5. How much do you watch videos on YouTube versus all the mediums listed in the poll? I almost exclusively use YouTube... -
Ghost Town In The Sky Discussion Thread
Cmbgo12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ghost Town in the Sky, home of Cliffhanger (The bizarre Hopkins terrain looper on the side of a mountain), quietly reopened this July with some kiddie flats and the original chairlift, and in September its western show reopened with Phase 2... Phase 3, which hopefully includes attractions on top of the mountain is slated to be finished in late 2014 or early 2015... Park website: ghostowninthesky.com/ Any thoughts or comments about the future of the park with its new management? -
Ironically Hershey is probably the most lax park in the US as far as re-rides go... Lax as in 17 re-rides on Skyrush lax, sometimes they'll even let you wait at the exit if a big group comes in and takes over the queue.

Maximum RPM or Round About or whatever they ended up calling it... It had had problems since day zero and was a logistics nightmare. They tried to combine a Ferris Wheel and a Roller Coaster, and while they succeeded it had a capacity next to none, a very boring layout (Similar to a Vekoma Junior Coaster), and above all it was probably the most unreliable coaster in existence! From what I've heard they've sold it to somewhere in Asia so while I'm glad to see it still in operation, I feel really bad for whichever park has to deal with it...

The Off-Season Survival Thread
Cmbgo12 replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Go to school, practice guitar, eat, sleep, etc during the fall and early winter... -Pause in the Off-Season- During Thanksgiving vacation I'm going to Florida and possibly hitting up both Fun Spots (At least one) -Resume Off-Season- Then during Spring Break, which for me officially marks the beginning of the season, I'm going to Myrtle and while I'm there I'm gonna go to Family Kingdom and maybe get the one credit at Boardwalk at the Beach (A Wacky Worm... I'm a whore, I know.)
