GAME: Finding the Similarities

Both were owned by Funtime Inc (And bought out by Premier) Grona Lund and Gold Reef City? -
Currently on my relatively long list of solo rides are; Skyrush - Had been broken down all day and I decided to go wait at the gate for it to open... Just as it re-opened Hurler, I305, Woodstock Express, and Volcano at Kings Dominion. The park was absolutely dead and everything was a walk-on, I did get really lucky with I305 and Volcano though as I rode both of them after they re-opened after some downtime (This was also just before I305 had its lift cable replaced so I'm lucky I got to ride it at all!) All 4 coasters at Canobie Lake Park. I go to the park at least once a year, previously every weekend, so of course I've managed to get at least one solo ride on everything Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and Goofy's Barnstormer... Three of the most difficult solo credits to get, but when you live literally walking distance away from the gates you get the see the park on some crazy quiet days... Montu and Kumba, these two are always particularly line-less when I go to BGT... Cheetah Hunt and Sheikra always seem to have at least a fifteen minute wait though. Doesn't matter how dead the park is. Big Bad Wolf. Got on the first two rides of the day... This is the only reason I can die happy

The NL/NL2 Preview Thread
Cmbgo12 replied to mcjaco's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Welp... I've somehow done something, something so unusual it might even be worth its own thread entirely. Sp I'll use the old Preview Thread to give you all a sneak peak! -Until Tomorrow -Cmbgo, Accidental Genius. -
^ I apologize, I looked on RCDB and it didn't say they'd built any... At least now we have more pictures to showcase its awfulness!

Wanna know something that just sounds painful? A brand new chinese company attempting a coaster with two loops and three corkscrews. Well it doesn't just have to sound painful anymore... Zhipao has made it a reality Doesn't the Medium Sized City of Victoria Coaster sound amazing! If that ride isn't your type maybe try out the 89 Meters of Ferris Wheel, the "Aloft Recreation", or 66 Meters or Space Shuttle...

Family Kingdom is NOT a kicka$$ park. Well I mean its not in the same level as any major amusement park, but I've been going there for years and I've only had good experiences... The staff are friendly, the rides are pretty good (Swamp Fox especially) and the water park is really good for a park of its size. So while it might not be the most amazing park in the nation you're pretty much guaranteed to have a good (and not too crowded) time whenever you choose to go... I guess if I enjoyed Swamp Fox I would feel differently about the park, but Swamp Fox did not impress me on my two visits to Myrtle Beach. Swamp Fox can be very hit or miss later in the season, but on opening day, after the off-season maintenance its probably one of the best coasters built pre-1970

Top 3 Roller Coasters From Your Birth Year
Cmbgo12 replied to YOLO's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1998 Checking in! 1- Shivering Timbers (Michigan's Adventure) 2- Volcano, The Blast Coaster (Kings Dominion) ... Not counting Texas Tornado 3- Mamba (World's Of Fun) - Probably the best looking Morgan Hyper Great Bear, Excaliber, Ghostrider, G'sengte Sau (First Gerstlauer Coaster), the Mr. Freeze twins, and Batman and Robin The Chiller all also opened in 1998... Twas a great year for coasters -
Yeah, but not good air like a Gerstlauer Bobsled counter-part... Seems more like jerky painful air like on Magnum or any other Arrow Hyper Is that even a question?

Not Chinese, but the Togo Loop and Cork (Looping Wild Mouse, similar to Windjammers) in Japan is insane! http://rcdb.com/1890.htm# I think its the only Wild Mouse in the entire world with 2 inversions...

[NL1] Cmbgo12's Crappy Creations!
Cmbgo12 replied to Cmbgo12's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'm sorry to disappoint you ! There's definitely a learning curve though so even of you only play it for a few minutes a day you get pretty good really quickly... ...•_• What? -
Hello, my name is Colin. I am 16 years old, and I volunteer at Operation Military-Kids. I recently went to Banshee Bash at Kings Island, and had an absolute blast! I had such a fun time that I decided to suggest that my state's (NC) 4-H Military Kids outreach program do a trip to Carowinds and try and do something similar... So that brings me to this forum, and the creation of this thread... I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, no idea who to call, or how to set up something even remotely like Banshee Bash or if it would even be possible so set up something similar for that matter. I need some help, and would be incredibly grateful for any tips or info you could give me on how to go about putting this thing together... To give some additional info this would be taking place approximately mid-July. It would be an all-day thing with hotel arrangements, and transportation to and from the hotel (Don't worry about this, just mentioning it in case it makes a difference). And the rest is still TBD...

Parks Creating Rides In-house
Cmbgo12 replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How about this entire park? There was even an entire documentary made about the park, its creator, and its history... A seriously good watch, but it doesn't really show much of the park itself... -
[NL1] Cmbgo12's Crappy Creations!
Cmbgo12 replied to Cmbgo12's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Today is Sunday and it's super dreary and gross outside... Well, might as well spend it making a NL1 coaster! So I present to you a pretty basic Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. This one is a custom model because I screwed up making a 320+ and just rolled with it, I mean this is called Cmbgo's CRAPPY creations for a reason! Anyways, I also figured out how to make custom supports in-game so be prepared to see more custom supports on my coasters and not just generic looking junk. For those of you who know anything Euro-Fighter 320+'s you will instantly see the mistake I make I made... For those of you who don't know that model very well, there is supposed to be an Immelmann where the Over-Banked turn is Ehh, I kinda like it though... Oh, that lift hill 90° of beauty with 97° of awesome! (Now with custom supports ) Going up? Coming down. Loop-de-loop... Defying the laws of physics with unrealistic supports. 90° banked turn. This turn was a serious pain in the behind, because originally I had it too close to the station and the supports would cut into it so I ended up moving the station back like 4 ft. Hangtime! (Supposed to be zero-g ) High-speed turn into a high-speed S-bend! Somehow the smoothest part of the entire ride HELIX (of death). For some reason this helix pulls a ton of G's... Not really unrealistic when you consider the real-life counterpart, but still weird since I put a ton of effort into making it smooth and comfortable. Magnetic brakes! Lookin' good Aerial View. Welp, not too bad for a third coaster! Still tons of room for improvement, but still OK! This coaster won't be going on the game exchange unless someone really wants it, but I hoped you all enjoyed this little project! -
So what were the best new coasters of 2014?
Cmbgo12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only coasters that I rode that were new was Banshee and a Wisdom Dragon at a Mall... Banshee was really good with TONS of forces and a pretty good layout (Though I didn't really feel like it used its landscape to its advantage). Something that was a bit annoying on it was the really slow B-Roll that killed the pacing, oh and you should definitely not ride in the middle rows, the rattle on 3 middle rows kills the ride in every sense of the word... The Wisdom Dragon was well... A Wisdom Dragon, two helixes and a pretty good ride for $2... Banshee was definitely the best new coaster, but still not my favorite Invert. -
Hmm, unfortunately this seems to have become an argument on how Chinese companies copy other coaster companies... We all know they do, and most of us agree its wrong. However what I was getting at with this thread was weather or not Golden Horse was better quality, or had more potential compared to other Chinese manufacturers. I mean some of their rides actually look decent so I wanted to know if anyone on this site had any opinions on some of Golden Horses rides, not on their, umm... "design techniques"...
-
I've always been interested in Chinese rollercoaster companies, and for the most part the only one that seems to not be complete crap has always seemed to be Golden Horse. Of course I can't say for sure being that I've never actually been to China. So what are your opinions on Golden Horse, could they possibly be the next Vekoma... Or are they doomed to be written off as Chinese garbage? Keep in mind that Golden Horse has dramatically improved since their Space Car days. 2002->Space Car 2014-> Moterbike Roller Coaster (Zamperla Moterbike Rip-off) Link to their website: http://goldenhorserides.com/zh-CN/index.html (Google Translate recommended)
