  1. You have no idea how badly I would want to see that ride be made.
  2. I've only got 54 credits to my name, but here it goes. #1: Mighty Canadian Minebuster (PCW) #50: Top Thrill Dragster (CP) I'm hoping to break 100 this coming season. If all goes according to plan, El Toro will be number 100.
  3. It doesn't look like my cup of tea, but I'd probably give it a shot just to say that I've been on it. The whole hanging upside down part looks painful.
  4. I'm pretty sure the S&S Screaming Squirrel has the most hangtime. Link to RCDB
  5. My ride on Wild Beast at PCW in 2006 was the WORST ride I've ever been on. It jackhammered like crazy and was extremely rough all over the course. I got off the ride with both an extremely bad headache and sore back. I grudgingly rode it this season, and it was slightly better...but not much. They should just tear that POS down and put in a GCI woodie. Or an Intamin pre-fab. But that's everyone's dream for any park.
  6. I'll probably be running right along side you. That's my plan for riding this thing too. On the plus side, it should free up quite a bit of space in the Vortex queue. I can never get enough Vortex.
  7. That, and those weird metal bars that are supposed to keep your legs in place. I've never felt so restricted on a coaster before. Don't know what they were thinking with those.
  8. Top Gun, an SLC is easily the most popular ride at the park. During peak season, its not uncommon to see two hour waits for the ride. And CW thinks that a B&M hypercoaster only needs 45 minutes of queue? This summer is going to be messy.
  9. You know...I wouldn't be surprised if I saw that. Not surprised at all.
  10. Having only been on two stand-up coasters, my experience is fairly limited. However, from the two stand-ups I've been on, there has been one TOGO (Skyrider @ PCW) and one B&M (Mantis @ CP). I would actually take Skyrider over Mantis. It has some fun little pops of airtime without being too rough or extreme. Its only downside is that it has really really really reeeeaaallllly long load/dispatch times.
  11. And coming in a solid 4th...me! WTF is with Darien Lake though? Last I checked, I didn't have to drive to NYC to ride ROS. EDIT: Also as a random plug, join the "Theme Park Review Fans" group. All the cool kids are doing it.
  12. I got in about 20-25 rides in a day on Top Gun at PCW back in 1998. Why? I was young and naive at the time.
  13. Personally, I don't think that PKI really needs a new coaster at this point. Other parks in the former Paramount franchise are in desperate need of a new coaster *cough*Carowinds*cough*.
  14. Something about Banshees being demonic or related to death or something stupid like that. Cedar Fair took the politically correct route with the name. Banshee would have been better than Mantis, IMO.
  15. Exactly. Doesn't Eejanaika roughly translate into "what the hell"?
  16. Sometime next June/July, a couple friends and I are planning to hit PKI, CP, Kennywood, Hershey Park, SFGAd, SFNE, Martin's Fantasy Island and PCW in one glorious road trip. Dorney may or may not be added depending on how we really feel about it. Ambitious? Yes. Possible? Definitely.
  17. I think something like Tivoli might be able to do well in the Ottawa area. Something garish like Wonderland or La Ronde wouldn't fit well with the general tone and feel of Ottawa, which I always felt was more...dignified than Toronto or Montreal. Although, I would ideally like to see the CFL return to Ottawa, but that's just not going to happen.
  18. I've been stuck on quite a few rides over the years. I was stuck on Splash Mountain at WDW for about 1/2 an hour, Spaceship Earth, the Haunted Mansion, The Great Movie Ride, the top of the lift of Ice Dragon at IOA, ET at USF, Jaws at USF, the top of the lift of Vortex at PCW, and probably some others that I'm forgetting.
  19. And of course, by enthusiasts, I really mean the TPR community.
  20. OMG...I'm getting sick just watching the video. That's just plain ridiculous.
  21. Desperado? WTF? Really? Seriously, newspapers/magazines should get some serious enthusiast consulting whenever they put a list together. ...although TTD did scare the bejeezus out of the the first time I rode it.
  22. Awesome as usual, Chuck. I also got a good laugh at the Engrish on that kid's shirt. "This is big fruit. Is it very sweet?" Awesome.
  23. I hate it when old Arrow Corkscrews show up in my toilet too...
  24. I've only been to WDW. The first time I went was in the fall of 1993 with my family. My parents had wanted to take us to Florida for years and that was the best time to go. Since we lived in Southern Ontario in Canada, it was easier than going to California. And well...it still is. And really, after being to Disney World, Disneyland doesn't really interest me...it seems like I would think "oh...seen this before".
