  1. ...wow. Words cannot say how amazing a park this is.
  2. Dragon Fire at PCW is highly underrated. Its by far the smoothest Arrow coaster I've ever been on. The last time I was on it in October, there was no banging at all, it was smooth as glass. There's never a line and most people forget the ride even exists.
  3. Its like that with anyone's home park. The people who go there all the time actually know what the park is like and can make good statements about that. Just because I've been to a park once or twice, does not mean that I am an expert and can comment on anything that is not related to my visit. Take Cedar Point for example. I've only been there a few times, and each time was a different experience. I have no idea what the park is like most of the time, and as such, shouldn't be able to comment on it. Although, I still would like to see SFMM. You know, to see if everything is true or not...and Tatsu.
  4. To me, that doesn't really seem to make sense for SFMM. I mean, they just did a full out repair to Freefall, why would they get rid of it now after spending so much money on it?
  5. The roughest coaster I've been on is Wild Beast at PCW. The last time I went on it, I thought I had broken a rib or punctured a lung...it was absolutely brutal.
  6. ^^^ I know the one you're thinking of...the lift and first drop kind of looked like Millennium Force. I thought the kid only had the lift and drop done before he had to take it down. Either way, the thing looked absolutely amazing (and smoother than most TOGO coasters), its a shame he didn't get to finish it.
  7. I was there in mid-July, so it could be them kicking into high gear for the summer. But, it was probably just a good day, Darien Lake is never that good.
  8. In contrast to shesaidboom's experience at SFDL this year, mine was fantastic. The ride ops were friendly and massively efficient. Everything was running multiple trains (well, except Boomerang), which made the waits nice and short. I even saw characters wandering around the park and in restaurants. Compared to the last time I visited in 2001, the park had made some very dramatic improvements. Well, except Viper. That still sucks.
  9. Mine was Alpengeist at BGE way back in 1997. I was so terrified going up the lift, but ran around to get back on after the ride ended. I was hooked.
  10. Well, they're moving so slowly right now, I doubt that they'll even have the track put together by next July. Seriously, slowest construction ever.
  11. PCW is my home park, and I would have to say Vortex is their best coaster. I love that Arrow suspended coaster, I do.
  12. The last concert I was at was Metric in September. They played a quick set at my university for Frosh Week. I've got tickets for The Trews at the end of the month, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in November and tickets for two Billy Talent shows in Februrary.
  13. Monty Python's Holy Ail. I saw it at the Beer Store on the weekend and said "oh hells yes". It actually wasn't too bad. Better than I expected. But then again, I wasn't expecting much. It also had an awesome label, complete with the caption: "Tempered over burning witches"
  14. You can also build medium slope zero-G rolls with the extended coaster. For inverted coasters, I make a steep slope up, the level off, barrel roll, steep slope down, level off. I hope that made some sense.
  15. You know, I'm going to laugh my butt off at you guys if its not an Aquatrax. Personally, I don't care what the ride is, as long as its fun. I just like seeing people look stupid time to time.
  16. ^ Surprised? Nope. Definitely not. Marineland's new attraction, a topple tower! New for 2010!
  17. Well...the only flying coaster I've been on is a Zamperla Volare (Tomb Raider at PCW). So...yeah. That sucked. I can only assume B&M and even Vekoma flyers are much better.
  18. Its being built as soon as the topple tower is done.
  19. I was at SFDL about a month ago, and I had roughly the same experience as you. Except the pain machine that is Predator was closed (had the credit anyways, not about to go on it again). Viper also banged me around extremely hard, especially through the batwing element. My sister had bruises on her arms from the ride. I also agree that the park needs a new (stress new, not the Batman stand-up currently in storage from Astroworld) coaster badly.
  20. The farthest I've gone JUST for a roller coaster was 5 hours to Cedar Point when TTD opened in 2003. Any other trip that's longer (i.e., Florida, Virginia) are for reasons other than coasters. They just happen to be part of our trip, but not the main focus.
  21. A ride doesn't have to be insanely tall, fast or a record breaker to be a fun coaster. Look at the rides at Disney parks, they are in no way record breakers, but are some of the most fun you can have.
  22. Lectures for the fall term start on September 11. However, I'm doing the whole frosh week leader thing again, so I have to be on campus as of the 4th. At least I don't have to move again seeing as how I already work on campus.
  23. I'm really hoping that PCW will finally get a decent new coaster. It doesn't have to be big or fast or anything...just good. I think a Maurer Sohne spinning coaster would be a great fit to the park. But, that's just my opinion. I'm not a Cedar Fair board member. Yet.
