Moreys Piers Discussion Thread

For real this is one of the most epic amusement park commercials along with the Titan MAX one. -
Mine would be Space Fantasy (most confusing one) Thunderation at SDC, Adventure Express at KI, Surf Coaster Leviathan, Mummy USH/USO, Everest backwards helix, Tron indoor section, BTMR, Big Grizzly Mountain, Space Mountain DL/WDW/HKDL, Gringott's, Legend at HW, Whizzer SFGAm and there must be a lot more I can't recall.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
gerstlaueringvar replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Stakotra makes the track for those manufacturers except for Mack. Mack builds their own track and their version is very similar except for the shape and direction of the cross ties. Switching between two, three and four tracks is to be more cost efficient and to make the ride look better. The more tracks there are, the longer span the track piece has. At a lower altitude it's cheaper to build more supports compared to more complex track pieces so the flat two-track style is often used in that case. And then think about the main towers of TTD and Kingda Ka, it would cost a lot to have two-track style tracks because that would require a lot more supports not to mention it would result in an extremely high wind resistance which is very bad for tall structures like those. Four-track style tracks are being used because of that. And now that Intamin has the Y shaped track, 4-track style will most likely to be phased out unless they are building clones. -

Hey that's not fair, I've been there and I know for a fact that Dodonpa's capacity isn't that low! 32/h more likely. -
Stand-Up coasters= A failed concept?

If the manufacturer makes it right, stand up coaster can be amazing. Milky Way and Riddler's Revenge are both kickass rides. -

Probably the most ghetto thing I've seen coming out of any company this year. Hope the vehicle won't be skidding the side of the "road" through the whole course because the engineers screwed up the drawings. -
It's just one of the many things that make the amusement industry as safe as it is now. Just like in aviation, you used to be able to smoke on a plane and cockpit doors weren't bullet proof. I am not sure when or where the standard of double checking restraints started, but safety critical positions are not the place to give your guests 100% of your trusts and I'm thankful for that standard being in place.

^Falcon's Fury has two pneumatic cylinders and a magnetic brake on the counterweight for 4-rider vehicle, Ikaros has two cylinders for an 8-rider vehicle and no magnetic brakes. Also another thing, this is probably the first drop ride in the world to use chain lift since Intamin's first gen free fall! -

I like how the swinging motion range is much bigger than Falcon's Fury's. Also, I swear this has nothing to do with Sweden at all but when I see the name all I see is IKEA.
