  1. So that's a new Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster? Fantastic!
  2. How does GG woodie track design compare to others? It looks more traditional than RMC topper track does. How are they able to do the inversions while GCI can't. The track design looks almost the same, than say topper track does. GCI's can, as stated previously, but they have chose (or perhaps their customers...) not to. For me, construction wise, you can tell the quality difference between GCI and Gravity Group. GCI's are built more robust with what I believe is not only a more dense structure (more ledgers per foot of track), but also from superior track construction methods. This one in particular (Mind Blower) based on the POV's already looks to have sub-par carpentry work for the track itself, causing the shuffling being reported. You can see it in the POV. Yet go watch Mystic Timber's or any other GCI, it tracks beautifully. I don't believe it is the train, just the quality of the design and the work being done by the contractor (M&V or whoever it is). I look forward to riding this in a few months, but it is a bummer that there is already reports of shuffling. Knowing Fun-Spot, they will likely get GCI to do the trackwork properly within a few years M&V did not do the construction of Mine Blower. The thing is, shuffling is part of the fun on a wooden coaster and I think a reasonable amount adds to its intensity (Voyage, Apocalypse, Raven, Beast are some of my favorite coasters). I absolutely love GCI coasters as they toss you around with interesting forces and they are perfectly smooth, but I also like how Gravity Group coasters have that raw feelings to them. Plus Timberliners are light enough that they wouldn't damage the track too much. Gravity Group woodies use a more traditional method to build the tracks yet GCI tracks come from "offsetting" which give them smoother track work but the construction periods are much longer.
  3. Gorgeous looking exterior of the building! I have to go to this park someday!
  4. London looks like a great time! Hope you have a magical rest of the trip with Disney!
  5. Hype looks amazing! Also this name is perfect, love it.
  6. Xcelerator. I read somewhere that the force tops at -1.6G's! The Giovanola hypers' MCBR are pretty bad as well.
  7. Some water cannons will make magic happen. Otherwise this coaster is hilariously unthemed.
  8. Support of the Half Pipe is going up. The bottom track pieces are installed, saw it for 0.2 seconds on Tron's MCBR approach. Edit: Just went near the Toy Story restroom and took this:
  9. Congratulations! Wish Kolmården all the best in all the future plans!
  10. I doubt it's a Golden Horse. Korean parks are not that desperate/they can't get insurance for such a high risk investment.
  11. At this point when bad engineering don't happen too often, the smoothness of wooden coasters almost always depends on maintenance. While GCI coasters stay smooth for a bit longer than Gravity Group coasters because of their track fabrication process, it all comes down to maintenance after a few years.
  12. The park isn't too crowded any day. A Saturday in March would be totally fine. But if you go on Friday you can probably marathon almost everything without waiting more than 10 minutes. Where else in the world can you ride Space Mountain 7 times in an hour?
  13. Look forward to see what they will build with that new height restriction!
  14. MCBR? Lol the operation at that POS park is slow enough to let the coaster wheels develop flat spots while waiting to get into the station.
  15. SHDL: Pirates of the Caribbean TDS: Journey to the Center of the Earth HKDL: Mystic Manor DL: Indiana Jones EPCOT: Horizons. Test Track for the operating ones DCA: Radiator Springs Racers MK: Carousel of Progress TDL: Pooh WDS: Ratatouille DAK: Expedition Everest
  16. ^There's an increasing tension between Beijing and HK and umbrella protestors are affecting the amount of mainland tourists in HK a lot. I'm surprised to see the attendance drop aren't higher than reported, suppose the numbers are correct.
  17. ^I'm pretty sure it's a Zamperla package deal they purchased.
  18. It's kind of surprising that they have backwards car installed right at the beginning, That always feels like one of those things that boost attendance after the coaster is opened for a while.
  19. Love the look of this coaster. Out and back plus lots of low to the ground elements is a very nice combination. Not sure about the backwards car though, it just feels like a very long ride to go backwards on.
  20. Shanghai Disney had its 10,000,000th visitor on May 19th, since the park opened on June 16th, 2016, I would estimate the attendance to be around 11,050,000 because the park will start to get busier soon.
  21. I think it sounds fantastic. If guests aren't bringing their knife to cut the seat belts open this should be a totally fail-safe system. Seat belts that lock aren't anything new anyway, Disney has been making that for decades and other manufacturers have their own versions as well.
