  1. It's sad to see a near perfect attraction getting treated like this.
  2. That's too beautiful to be even called Soarin'!
  3. ^Germans are also human and human make mistakes. But yes I am worried that there might be some errors with the blocking system because this and the TNT Tren de la Mina accident are both very rare in the industry and I don't think these are caused by human error like Smiler.
  4. I'm worried about the current state of those track and support pieces after they have been set outside for so many years. Wish S&S did enough inspection first.
  5. I just feel like HRRR looks amazing and it gives you an illusion that it should be a very nice and smooth experience with the added spice of music and some pops of great air. I mean it's such a quiet ride and the light package and color combination just look like a high-end product. But nooo once you get on that thing you're just getting bounced around and the train just shuffles between the rails way too much. The disadvantage of the narrow track, wheel boxes, and high centerline is definitely showing on HRRR and the extreme heavy use of Universal isn't helping at all. To me it looks like a coaster that should track flawlessly but the ride experience gives you a sense that there's some kind of calculation error. I was unpleasantly surprised by the helix after the first MCBR, it just felt like a bad driver shifting from left to right violently inside of a lane trying his/her best not to fall off the side of the road. Maybe Maurer did it intentionally but to me that experience is like a Chinese-made mine train. Same with the tilted loop whatever towards the end of the ride.
  6. ^ When my friend was there a few weeks ago, express passes were sold out before the park opened. I would buy it online just to be safe.
  7. It's a good layout that packs a punch and the first drop at the back row would be legendary. But two 8 persons train??
  8. I'm sorry but the renovation just feels like they painted a few places here and there and turned up the saturation of the pictures on Instagram.
  9. Love the pictures! It's interesting seeing how WDW was like since I visited for the first time in November 2015. Also I'm so glad that "hand with the wand" is gone!
  10. There is a line where it starts to get annoying. Generally I love it when people are screaming on the rides, it shows their appreciation and you can learn a lot from that very simple act. But the kind that's pretended and done just for the sake of screaming annoys me because it is not sincere and it can potentially ruin the experience for other guests, just like flash photography on a dark ride.
  11. Looks sad compared to the promotion video, but I bet it is so much fun to be there!
  12. I have to take a vacation there sometime!
  13. That's depressing. The menu they have at the Volcano Bay was the main reasons why I actually wanted to go to the park but now guess I got one more day at EPCOT.
  14. Out of the ones I've been to: Silver Dollar City Fuji-Q Highland Busch Gardens Tampa Holiday World Knott's Berry Farm
  15. Top 5 Favorite Parks 1. Tokyo Disney Sea I had three very brief visits during the 2015 Japan trip. Back then I wasn't even a theme park fan but that view as you enter the park took my breath away! And later at HKDL when I rode Mystic Manor again I found Shiriki and Mr. Hightower in that S.E.A. picture, I was so intrigued that I actually got off my lazy a$$ and did some research. That's how the Disney magic struck me and I started to become a theme park person. The other reason why I loved that place is that everything just seemed so original and elegant without any corner cutting, it's like they absolutely didn't have any budget issue and let the park designers go crazy on even the tiniest details. 2. Disneyland Yes, it is small as hell and it becomes a clusterf*ck as soon as the attendance goes above 20,000. But Disneyland is just charming and it makes me feel like Walt is still there overseeing everything at the park. There are some negative aspects of the SoCal Disney fans but inside of the park, I absolutely love how most of the people are locals and generations of their families have been going to Disneyland. It gives that park a unique feeling that while it is a destination, it has that charming neighborhood-like personal and warm feeling to it. Unlike at MK, the overall atmosphere at Disneyland feels much more relaxed to me. And because the park is small and landlocked, WDI had to be very creative about the ride designs and that lead to some fascinating genius solutions. 3. EPCOT This is a park that grew on me every time I go there. The first and second time I went there was during IAAPA and within the short night visits, I wasn't able to slow down and appreciate just how amazing that park is, didn't even ride Spaceship Earth! And then the third time was during spring break and I spent three days at WDW, I just found myself wanting to skip re-riding some E-Tickets at other parks and simply spend time chilling and walking around EPCOT. The food quality is eye-opening and I love how in the world showcase, the perfect mix of inauthenticity and authenticity makes me wish the real thing I saw at some of those actual sites were the EPCOT version. 4. Silver Dollar City First of all, Outlaw Run is there. Second of all, Powder Keg is there, Third, great staff, relaxed atmosphere and good theme. 5. Cedar Point The breathtaking skyline that made me freeze on my seat the as we were approaching there the first time. Excellent roller coaster collection. Great operation for an amusement park. The only setback is the food quality, otherwise, it would be my 4th favorite park. Honorable mentions in order: DCA, WDW Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Japan, Busch Gardens Tampa, Islands of Adventure. Top 5 Bucketlist Parks 1. Hershey Park Skyrush, Storm Runner, Lightning Racers, and cheap chocolate! 2. Phantasialand It looks like the park designers are trying their absolute best on everything they are doing based on the photos and videos I have seen. I personally feel like their high thrill coasters look better themed than the Universal ones. Taron is very high up my bucket list. 3. Efteling Pretty much the same reasons as Phantasialand, I would love to see how that park is considering that it shares some similarities with Disney's castle parks. 4. Disneyland Paris It is the last Disney resort left for me. I would love to check out the sort of in-between rides that are improved from the original BTMR, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean but not yet Big Grizzly Mountain, Mystic Manor or Shanghai Pirates. Not to mention the gorgeous DiscoveryIPland. 5. SFGAd El Toro has been my dream coaster for a long time and I'm even surprised I haven't been to that park yet. It is close to NYC which means I can spend some time in NYC as well! Honorable mentions in order: Port Aventura, Kings Dominion, Liseberg, Alton Towers, Gröna Lund, Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
  16. Rest In Peace Mr. Sklar. Thank you for the magic and memories that you created.
  17. ^ True, thin sheet metal floor vs rigid arm isn't too likely to cause the entire thing to rip off like that.
  18. I actually like the layout, damn I wish it is made by Gerstlauer instead.
  19. It is possible if the ride is in motion.
  20. Can't wait to go to Carowinds someday. Fury's first half looks like it has the perfect pacing and some funky forces. If Afterburn is anything like Montu I'm totally sold. Also surprised to hear such good review of I-232! Have a fantastic trip everyone!
