  2. I had a blast at this park when I visited back in 2013. Great weather, no lines, very clean, everything was running, got multiple rides on the coasters that mattered, and even had time to spend a couple hours in Hurricane Harbor! I actually enjoyed my rides on the Boss and loved having a chance to ride Evolu...I mean Excalibur again (I actually was able to snag a few rides in during its short life at Great Adventure. Looks like you guys had a great day!
  3. A Sausage McGriddle and large black iced coffee at McDonald's.
  4. I've bought a two-person Flash Pass before for four people and we just rotated using it throughout the day whenever we saw fit. You should be just fine. Key thing to remember - once you have your device scanned for your ride reservation, immediately schedule the next one. This way the countdown on the new reservation while you're still in the station and riding. It'll make sure you maximize the value of it. Didn't used to be that way. Ten years ago, I'd have told you we had a great layout. Unfortunately, management changes through the last decade have closed off a bunch, primarily Old Country in 2008 and the Golden Kingdom in 2011. It seems as if the park is slowly working to reopen the Old Country path with JL this year and Cyborg next, but no word on GK.
  5. Yea, this policy is new to this year. It's not just on El Toro, either; Joker and Kingda Ka each have similar rules. They station security guards outside of each entrance in order to check and direct people to the lockers. Zippered pockets are no good, either, they want nothing in your pockets. My brother and I have just walked past the coasters and not ridden them on a few of our visits as a result. It's really unfortunate and is a major step backwards for the park IMO.
  6. Apollo's Chariot at BGW, last weekend of August.
  7. *shrugs* Guess it wasn't as creative as I thought.
  8. Now, at work, reviewing the work of investigators who apparently are so bad they can't find their asses with both hands in their back pockets. When was the last time you broke something?
  9. Here's the direct link to the article in Popular Science.
  10. That's great to hear! I'm sure we'll get there in the next year or so to check this thing out. It looks like a great little ride, it definitely has a "Wooden Warrior" vibe and we loved that thing. Note - He's saying you're okay to go because at least you have a female with you! As a parent, I think I'd still be creeped out a bit seeing some single male dude wandering around riding rides at Sesame Place.
  11. 46" for single riders seems a bit steep when similar coasters like Wooden Warrior and Coastersaurus have 42" restrictions, but at least it's offset by the 40" requirement w/ a companion. Should help make sure this ride is accessible to pretty much everyone in the park's targeted audience.
  12. Lol I've also heard these rumors and may have seen a thing or two
  13. I've honestly found the opposite with Twitter (which is why I no longer use it). Most of what I see is people complaining and ranting about their lives. It may just be the people that I followed, but it just had such a negative vibe. Like Robb said, it all depends on who you follow. I don't actually follow any friends or family on Twitter. That's what Facebook is for. I follow accounts of organizations and public figures (TPR; sports teams, players, commentators; political groups and trusted pundits; and a few comedians and celebs from various backgrounds whose comments I enjoy). I also tend to change it up regularly to keep it relatively fresh. It's the only platform I feel I have a direct line to the account holders. It's also, IMO, the best way to follow events as they happen in real time. The "trending" features function the best among all social media platforms. Although I still use Facebook a little bit more, Twitter has become my favorite social media platform.
  14. ^^ What's your favorite subject in school and why?
  15. Glad you had a blast! Keansburg is where my family would go when I was still too young for school. I have memories of an old Wacky Worm and train ride. It became really seedy in recent years and got hit pretty hard by Sandy (destroyed their old coaster). It's rebounded a little bit as it recovered from the hurricane, but it still has a ways to go. I, too, balked at the price of Hydrus and only rode it once. During the week, the park will occasionally have wristband days; if I'm ever back on one of those days, I'll ride it multiple times, but any other time there it'll be a one-and-done.
  16. ^ Thanks!! I plan on that TR. Really looking forward to it. Our family friend goes over to Amsterdam a few times each year for work and has been helping us out with some of the planning.
  17. 1) FB 2) Twitter Facebook is how I stay in touch with friends and a few groups I follow, Twitter is used to sty up-to-date in news, politics, and sports. Truth be told, I use each as much of the other nowadays. Tumblr is a distant third. I have Snapchat and Instagram but I never use them.
  18. Man, I didn't realize just how spoiled I was when I was still living right down the street from the park. I'd have after-work El Toro marathon sessions at least twice a week, if not more. One of the few things I really miss from living up there.
  19. ^ Glad to see you guys are doing okay!!
  20. Having been on many of the wooden coasters that normally can be considered the "best" (El Toro, Phoenix, Boulder Dash, Voyage, Lightning Rod, just to name a few), I can safely say three things: 1. All are worthy to be considered one of the best coasters around. 2. Any preferential differences are based on the subjective likes/dislikes of that particular rider. 3. What is considered the "best" really could not possibly matter any goddamn less than it already does.
