  1. Ughhh... Really sorry to hear that, Zach. Hope things end up working out.
  2. No, they haven't done that in many years. However, discount coupons aren't hard to come by (McDonald's, Wawa, Coke cans, etc), so you should still be able to easily save at least a little money.
  3. I visited the park in late July 2014, during the initial phases of construction on Fury and a few weeks before it was even announced. Fury opened as planned the next spring with no issues.
  4. Ahh, that makes sense then. Ride ops were looking for two riders, and after Rikki and I volunteered, we realized it was for the front row. Here I was thinking that was actually an awesome thing! Still was a great view, and I'm glad to have experienced a little piece of my home park's (SFGAdv) history.
  5. Glad that you had a great time! Sucks that the rain ended your night a little early.
  6. We ended up missing you by only a couple days. Rikki and I were there on Monday, having decided to make the drive up after her sister's wedding the day before at Bear Mountain. She was so annoyed that the sky ride was closed (she loves those things), especially after learning of the idiocy that shut it down to begin with. Love the charm of that place, especially compared to the corporate feel of the other Six Flags parks that I've been to. Alpine Bobsleds was running a couple days later just fine (and tried to kill me). Looks like you had a great time, though, awesome pictures!
  7. Having went to school down the street from it, I'm very familiar with Trenton Airport. We even had a banquet there, once. It's small and conspicuous, but it serves its purpose well. Haven't flown out of it yet, though, but I'm sure I'll have to take advantage of those flight prices whenever we decide to make the trip to Florida again. Can't wait for Part 2!
  8. Sorry to hear that, Larry. It seems that food operations at SFGAm seem to be consistently poor.
  9. For the record, Bojangles is the s**t. Bo-berry biscuits FTW. I'm more and more tempted to get a Cedar Fair season pass next year as the news behind this coaster and the changes to Hurler at KD become more apparent.
  10. I love this forum more and more each day.
  11. Well, as I said, I had the exact same amount of time as he will have, and I regret every minute I waited in line for that thing. And that was without Fury being open. As someone who had the exact same experience, don't ride that trashy trash trash hunk of junk garbage pile. Ride a better coaster.
  12. Oh, then it must be 100% true. Nothing unusual there. Carry on.
  13. I was in your exact same boat about three years ago (work trip to Columbia, drove up to Carowinds, spent 7-10 at park). Fury was just a pile of dirt and a "Centurion"-sized dream in enthusiasts' minds then, so it wasn't a factor in my planning. I wanted to take the loop around the park and get on all the coasters and managed to do so with extra rides on Afterburn and Intimidator. However, if credit whoring isn't in on your agenda, I agree with Bill - get a ride or two in on Intimidator, then a few on Afterburn, then make your way around the loop and stick to Fury for the rest of the night. DEFINITELY don't ride that ever-loving piece of s**t Nighthawk - not only does it suck ass, but it'll have the longest, slowest-moving line of the night. The three hours will go by a lot faster than you may realize (it did for me), and It's more time that could be spent on Afterburn or Fury. If you were gonna be there the whole day, maybe, but you need to focus on what counts.
  14. It was posted by a forum user trying to show construction progress. It's not published by a brand trying to push content. If I took a construction picture of a coaster, I wouldn't give a shit where it gets reposted. I'm just trying to show progress of a cool coaster in a relatively dead thread. You should still give credit where credit is due. No need to be defensive about it.
  15. It's a red herring. It's definitely a B&M. Don't believe what you see! WRMC, that LOW RATING FAKE NEWS station, says only LIES to discredit good, hardworking coasters. Sad! #MAB&MA
  16. I spend most of my day at work now correlating various data in order to identify causalities and trends, so I totally appreciate the information and effort. I'd be interested to see what it says once a more robust sample size is available.
  17. No one was on it at the time, and I rode it with Rikki and my brother. TBH though, the operator was too busy playing with his phone to even care. He didn't even check the restraints.
  18. j/k Interesting approach, but I'm not sure there's enough data to adequately make that claim yet. You'd really need some data from colder months, even maybe an extra year's worth before you can really tie the two together.
  19. This piece-of-everloving-s**t at the Freedom Fest in Cream Ridge, NJ, last weekend. God f**king help me.
  20. It has to be some version of a water coaster at this point, there aren't any other options. Now to just see what kind. I'm leaning towards Intamin.
  21. There are "See Something, Say Something" posters in the park with the number for Park Security. If line-cutting is observed, then you should calmly let Park Security know of the situation, either by speaking with a guard in your locale or calling the number. No one should ever directly confront someone; it compounds the issue. It turns line-cutting into a fight, which makes the jobs of park officials that much harder.
