Worst Coaster Ever?

SFOG is the only dual-station one. SFGAm and SFGAdv were built with a single station. -
Just be careful your visit is timed to a not-so-touristy time period. I went to the Pigeon Forge location last year when it happened to be Spring Break, and they were so understaffed that it took forever to get food - several tables around me either got up and left or complained vociferously to the manager, who was clearly your standard "good ol' boy" and was out of his depth. No real complaints about the food, aside from the fact that it took so long. The waitress was really good and hustled as much as she could, but there's only so much you can do when you're one of three covering an entire dining room. I may be willing to give them another shot the next time I'm down there, but I'm hesitant to do so when there are so many other options in the area, chain or not.

Zach, I know you've probably talked about it in the past already, but how is it that you swung free Hyatt stays again? We have a Hyatt Visa card. It's the card we use the most. We pay for almost everything on the card and we pay it off at the end of every single month. We've never paid a dime of interest and we usually stay about 8-10 free nights per year, with plenty of points left over. I have no idea what the interest rates are, because we never put ourselves in a position to have Credit Card debt. I think we have a $75 annual fee. It took us three years to get to platinum status, which comes with perks like suite upgrades. We usually hold anywhere from 50,000 - 100,000+ points on our card at a time. You get double points for food/travel purchases. Hyatt Place: 5,000 points/night Hyatt Regency 7,000 points/night Hyatt Grands are 10,000-20,000 Hyatt resorts 20,000 per night The Hyatt places are like a nicer Holiday Inn. The regencies are really nice, with well stocked bars, better gyms, and nicer pools. The Grands are usually beach front, or destination locations, with all of the amenities. The resorts are just awesome. We also get one free night/year for the hell of it. They also recently added flights, cars, and other travels to their points plan. However, as you can imagine, it pays off the most to use it on their hotels and resorts. I think we tallied up two round trip non stop flights to Charlotte and it was going to take up about 40,000 points. Thanks, Zach, that's great advice. I really need to look into more brand-specific credit card reward systems rather than just my basic cash rewards card.

I am so fortunate to have discovered Melt during my last couple of visits to Cleveland. You guys are so lucky. -

Versions of the ride that I've been on have had Velcro seat belts that are easy to undo. I suspect if they do get added, these are the ones that do. -

Thunderhead was one of the most pleasant surprises of our visits to Dollywood last year. We made sure to grab multiple rides each visit because of how good a ride it is. I'm willing to bet the people who think TH is rough are the same people who think B&M hypers can have OMFG ejector air. -

For the record, it's still $50/night to camp there, whereas local hotels rent rooms for $70-80. That price difference isn't enough for me to justify suffering through the horrific nightmare of sleeping in a tent, but if you're one of those masochists who doesn't mind it, it may be worth it enough for you. Just keep it in mind if you haven't already. -

I wholeheartedly agree, it's the one main flaw that prevents me from going back more frequently. -
It's over an hour away from the park and a completely different style of pizza (cracker thin, not deep dish), but I'd be remiss if I don't at least mention the best pizza I've had in Chicago, Vito & Nick's. They're practically a South Side institution, and you can find videos on YouTube showing the place off, including some Food Network clips. That Italian beef pizza is worth a small detour, even if you end up hitting it on your way back home instead of after the park.

Your comment covers part of the story, but it's misleading. The accident was not a result of "the ride attendant NOT making sure the woman was properly secured", as Jason Maier asked, but rather due to the lack of any kind of "emergency stop" control function at the time (though I'd argue it's primarily due to social Darwinism). She boarded the train after the operator had started the dispatch, which could not be stopped once the motor was in motion. Though the large handles were added for that reason, the more prevalent safety modifications were to control systems on rides throughout the park, adding additional safety features like the “enable dispatch” buttons for both ride attendants and ride operators we know today. Read more here.

^ Rikki and I just had our engagement party there (it was fun, stop laughing, shut up). If you're into it, they have a pretty respectable laser tag arena and solid collection of arcade games, too. If you made your trek over to the park before realizing it's closed, iPlay isn't much farther up the road and is a fun time.

They're pretty good about getting the information out quickly via their social media accounts. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter and keep your eyes peeled for updates the morning of. If it's not raining and you're into art, you can check out Grounds for Sculpture just outside of Trenton. If it's still raining...Quaker Bridge Mall on Route 1 is okay, I guess haha.

Unless you're an indoor coaster/dark ride enthusiast, weather plays a huge part in this hobby. You can say that again! I was supposed to have been to KI with my kids and ridden Mystic Timbers two different times by now, but ended up passing both times due to weather! Still don't know what's in the dang shed! Wow your patience to not visit the KI thread or watch any "shed spoilers" is impeccable! I could spoil it for you right now but I won't I won't spoil it, but I will post a direct link to Robb's full breakdown. I'm a temptress like that. Just envision me as the devil on your shoulder, whispering into your ear, "Click on itttttt...".
