  1. Sounds good, looks like Saturday is definitely the day for us then!!
  2. I'm trying to figure out if I should visit the park on Saturday or Sunday this weekend. Who's going which day? TPR meet-up?
  3. ^ I'm with you. When I go with Rikki or my brother, we never stop in retail outlets unless out of necessity. However, if I go with my aunt and cousin, they want to stop and make one ridiculous impulse purchase after another. As inconvenient as the closed paths may be, my inner capitalist dances gleefully at the thought of moving more product. That said, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the Old Country path is open again full time. I imagine they may wish to wait until the section is fully renovated before doing so. I don't blame them for not wanting people to walk past more abandoned buildings on a daily basis.
  4. I know it's just one photo, but based on that one above of Kumba, I think Bill's dead-on with his assessment of the extended downtime for the ride in August being for a new paint job.
  5. No, the photo is of the pathway out front of where JL is located. Hopefully it's more than just the insignias that they installed outside their other versions, but odds are that's all it is.
  6. I had to do a double take here because at I swear at a quick glance, the center piece looked like a dreidel to me.
  7. ^ Yep. "Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west and Alabama in the middle."
  8. OMG, this is one of the best posts I've seen in a while.
  9. What I'm looking forward to most is seeing this section fully lit at night. That, to me, is what will really sell the "County Fair" aspect - how closely can it replicate the flashing lights, neon, and sounds of a typical fairground?
  10. Trying to display your pictures in that manner won't work here. The issue is the particular website hosting the photos; you have to find another site or just upload them to this site. Glad you had a good time!
  11. Wait, they're only just NOW starting construction? I guess I can't say I'm surprised...
  12. Oh man, this is probably a bad time to bring up that I'm going to WWE Raw in Philly on Monday.
  13. That's not a bad guess (and is a pretty good editing job). Seems like the best location.
  14. That's the main thing I noticed. I still have yet to look at past maps to see if that's a new thing or I just never paid enough attention.
  15. He's a Knoebels virgin. Don't worry, his opinion will change soon.
  16. Mean Streak. Sorry, Bill. A strong trim brake on the first drop? SMH. My ex and I couldn't stop laughing at how terrible it was.
  17. While you may have lost Iron Wolf and Ragin Cajun to SFA, you in turn received Goliath and Joker, both of which are significant improvements (especially Goliath). Even if V2 does end up coming east, you have still made out pretty well on your end of things overall.
  18. While no one should ever lose one's "poo-poo", El Toro being down the whole year is a much more valid reason than freaking out over a new ride's prospective name or getting pissy over Larson Loops getting called coasters. That said, I trust the moderator of that group; he's an excellent and reliable source for information. I'm sure it's just an error.
  19. Me too, including an obstacle course, Discovery Zone-style. If SF started putting those things in, I'd go through them in a heartbeat!
  20. I used to go to SFGAdv all the time back when I lived down the street from it. I was in a long-distance relationship at the time and usually didn't have anything better to do in the evening, so when I'd get home from work I'd quickly change and drive over to the park. I lived so close I could leave the house at 6:50PM and be standing inside the park at 7:00PM. I enjoyed the freedom of being there by myself; it helped clear my head after some long days in the office. Some nights I'd ride everything in the park within two hours, some nights I'd take my time and grab some dinner, and some nights I'd just walk around talking on the phone to my girlfriend at the time. I used the park as my exercise routine that summer, easily walking at least two miles each night. If I still lived close by, I'd definitely still be doing it. Now, I rarely if ever go alone, but that's mostly because of where I am in life now. I'm usually at a park with Rikki, or occasionally my brother. The only recent exception was when I visited SC for work and I made a road trip up to Carowinds one night. I would agree with those who've said that it's more fun to experience new parks with others. A big reason for why I enjoyed Knoebels and Dollywood so much was because of getting to expose Rikki to non-SF environments. That said, I'm someone who's known to enjoy his alone time, so popping over to SFGAdv if Rikki is tied up for the day isn't out of the question.
  21. If they do end up getting V2 from SFGAm, my only hope is that they fix whatever issue caused them to turn off the holding brake on the one tower. It's a small thing, but those couple seconds of being held up there make a difference.
