Normally spinning rides like this don't affect me at all, but watching that video alone made me so dizzy and disoriented. I think the feeling was exacerbated by the fish-eye lens the park used to film it (though I'm fairly positive the park made that choice on purpose for that very reason), but I'm sure this ride will still test the limit of how much spinning I can tolerate. Won't stop me from giving this a ride once I make it back to the park!!

Nearly every coaster enthusiast I've met in person at a park falls into one of two categories: 1) Those who seem to have a hard time blending into standard social situations and awkwardly talk about coasters with a little TOO much reverence, sometimes with borderline-sexual commentary. Usually I find these people pretty harmless, but some become awfully clingy, wanted to follow me around and talk only coasters when I display pretty clear body language that I wish to end the conversation and be left alone. I've also seen a few display behavior many would classify as "creepy" (think the TPR story of the guy who would hang around shirtless near the water park kiddie play area) 2) The obnoxious, rude, full-of-themselves kind with an entitled, inflated sense of self. Case in point - when I recently went to SFFT, I ran into a couple in line in Goliath where the guy happened to strike up a conversation with me and, once finding out I was an enthusiast, proceeded to bash nearly every park we happened to talk about, including how he would absolutely NEVER go back to SFA, despite his last visit being fifteen years AND completely free (he was a VIP guest with a friend or some bulls**t like that). Got pretty racist, too. I swear, the only down-to-earth, normal enthusiast I've met in person so far is Josh (JRice) back when he visited SFGAdv a couple years back. Another reason to love TPR - their folks are truly the cream of the crop! Gonna have to meet more of you all in person at some point to help further support that there are in fact normal enthusiasts out there. -

I'm torn who to root for here. On one hand, I like the upstart-team-going-all-the-way story, but I feel like the fans need to earn it a bit more first, especially after learning how the relaxed rules allow for a new team to essentially hit the ground running. Caps fans, though I'm certainly not fond of them, have suffered plenty and deserve to have their loyalty rewarded, especially after coming close year after year. -
That's good to know. I've been excited to ride this ever since we incorporated Great Britain into our honeymoon, but the way the train seemed to meander through some portions of the track had me thinking about the feedback I've heard from people about Helix and Taron. I'm sure it'll be fun regardless, but this news is promising!

^ Fortunately, they reported a 15% attendance increase in Q1 this year. Hopefully it's the beginning of a continuing upward trend. I will say I've noticed more and more of the SeaWorld commercials to actually advertise the coasters and shows of the park instead of solely on their environmental outreach, so hopefully that'll have a lasting impact.

Did they complete the effect by having a collection of crybaby Vikings fans who haven't come to terms with the fact they lost yet? -
wow. . looks like it's gonna be a stunner. I know that Harley at SFoT is right next to Joker. . but I really wish they had themed that one to Cyborg as well (and simply kept the Harley themed troika they already had). really loving the Cyborg theming on this guy at SFGAdv! I agree, the mechanical, robotic nature of the ride really seems to fit Cyborg a lot better. Can't wait to see this in person and finally ride it!

KI appears to have gotten better every year since my first visit the year before Banshee. Most people seem to share this opinion. Just another reason for me to make it back here. My only visit was in 2013, and to see how much the park has added / grown since then is amazing. -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

I've been on Lightning Rod, Wicked Cyclone, and Iron Rattler. Of those, I'd probably go in this order: 1) Lightning Rod 2) Wicked Cyclone 3) Iron Rattler Mind you, these are all INCREDIBLE coasters. Only reason why I put IR below WC is because, though the drop is better on IR, the airtime and overall layout is better on WC. IR tends to meander a bit in the place where the old helix used to be. -

^ Trust me man, I know. I've been there and done that with all of that, including the meal prep and the "I've already paid for this, I'd be wasting money" argument. It worked for about two weeks, then I was throwing out uneaten lunches. The only thing that worked long term has been the Weight Watchers meetings, which is what I went back to, The biggest issue I have is that Rikki and I tempt each other too much. If one of us makes a bad suggestion, the other will say sure (though I've managed to say no a lot more frequently recently). That's what happened on Saturday with a way-too-much-food-for-two-people order from the pizza place. Since then, though, I've been much more on track. Dinner yesterday was salmon with roasted broccoli and brussel sprouts, today was a grilled chicken sandwich (lettuce and tomato only) and side salad with light dressing for lunch and a light Asian stir-fry for dinner, followed by a five-mile walk. I'm beat, but proud that I've been on track since then. I've got to stick with the "one meal at a time, one day at a time" mentality that works for other addictions. -

It's okay, Bert, I struggled, too. We ended up eating pretty poorly on Saturday and I've been paying for it. I gained a pound as a result. I was better on Sunday, but I really need to keep at it to see the results I want in the long run. If I really get my act together, weight would fall off, but I need to get past this mental block first. -

If it's your first time to the area, give Cincinnati chili a try. Skyline Chili may be the most well-known, but it's a chain and generally not held in the highest regard. I much prefer Blue Ash Chili, especially their 6-way style and the "Chili Philly", which is chili on a Philly cheesesteak. -

I really enjoyed my visit back in 2014. Such a shame to see what all others are calling a yearly decline since then. I used to really want to try and make it back, but if it's getting as bad as people are saying it is, then I'm just going to focus my attention (and money) elsewhere. -
What is your next park?
michaellynn4 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hersheypark, sometime within the next month or so. Rikki had requested two tickets to the park as part of her bridal registry (do I need any more of a reason to marry this woman?), so we need to use them sometime between now and the wedding in July. -

Awesome job resisting! Workplaces can be difficult. Friday was a potluck food day, so people brought in all sorts of stuff, including chicken wings, Italian food (including garlic knots - yum), sausage and peppers, cookies, etc. I somehow managed to limit my consumption to one chicken wing, one garlic knot, and some fruit. I'd say that's a win in my book, compared to how I would've eaten in the past.
