  1. Hotel is booked. Wish me luck on Sunday! Thanks again for the insight. I would have nixed the trip without it.
  2. Hey, sorry for bringing this up again, but they're calling for a freeze watch overnight saturday. Has this ever affected the rides the following day?
  3. Thanks for the input! This might actually change my mind
  4. Hey, does anyone know if certain rides close down due to cold temperatures or precipitation? I was considering visiting this weekend, but saturday doesnt look good...
  5. I fart in your general direction!
  6. Jays win World Series. All they have to do is not leave 15 runners on base every game in the playoffs. It's that simple.
  7. My hot buttons: - Completeness: any coaster that has a substantial amount of size, speed, and overall forces will always be a favorite of mine - Momentum: maintaining pace throughout is also a key factor for me, as trims and brake runs can be a thrill kill - Efficiency: I have a soft spot for coasters that have that "pound for pound" intensity which can't be measured with numbers
  8. *Bump* After a trip to Silver Dollar City and Texas: Pleasant - Shockwave / New Revolution: This ride was freakin' COOL! Even with the VR headgear, you still notice the awesome forces from the coaster. - Wildfire: very smooth with a good pace - Powder Keg: I really liked the launch in the back row, and it had some surprisingly decent drops and airtime. Unpleasant - Batman The Ride (Fiesta): I was hoping for a more thrilling version of Green Lantern, but we didn't flip that much. It felt more like a flat than a coaster.
  9. Here are my rankings and why I like them: 1. New Texas Giant: very well rounded 1. Wicked Cyclone: aggressiveness 2. Outlaw Run: momentum 2. Iron Rattler: drops 3. Goliath: hangtime
  10. Realistically, I'd think smaller scale, so my vote would be for a Morgan Hyper GTX, an S&S Freespin Winger, or a small launcher like Galeforce. If I had a LARGE back yard, I could even have all three!
  11. With Valravn announced for Cedar Point in 2016, and based on recent trends, here is what I predict for Cedar Fair in 2017... Below are the new major additions since Cedar Fair acquired the Paramount Parks: 2008 - (CW) Behemoth 2009 - (KI) Diamondback 2010 - (Car) Intimidator 2011 - (KD) I-305 2012 - (CW) Leviathan 2013 - (CGA) Gold striker 2013 - (CP) Gatekeeper (winger) 2014 - (KI) Banshee (invert) 2015 - (Car) Fury 325 (giga) 2016 - (CP) Valravn (diver) 8 out of the last 10 have been large-scale B&Ms. Also, the last 4 have been a record-breaking B&M in a different category. Based on the sequential Paramount park treatment, and the current B&M trend, I predict that King's Dominion ought to receive a record-breaking B&M Flyer in 2017. Any other ideas?
  12. RMC-"ifying" a demolished coaster? Next topic...
  13. It's only my opinion and nothing else, but I disagree with the decision to remove the onboard speakers. I know that the ride itself is the reason why we ride it, but music should not be thought of as a distraction, but rather an enhancement to the experience. Kid Rock saying "Are you scared?" at the crest of the lift hill was a really cool when I rode Bizarro... so if they are considering keeping those wrap-around headrests, I would say at least keep the audio intact! Even the classic Superman theme would sound neat at least going up the lift hill in the years to come
  14. ^^^^ And while we're at it, you're
  15. I love small pound-for-pound style parks, with a broad variety of attractions, as opposed to having a single one-hit wonder. A good start: no gigas or hypers. I say let a large B&M looper, a 5,000+ foot modern woodie, and an 80+ mph Intamin launch coaster fight each other for top spot, with a solid supporting cast like an Arrow suspender, an old school Schwarzkopf, an early 1900's classic woodie, and large drop tower etc.
  16. Alpine Bobsled @ Great Escape
  17. Any smaller stand-up like Vortex @ Carowinds, Apocalypse @ SFAm, and Le Cobra @ LaRonde (I don't care what people think, I say it's a B&M) are the worst I've been on.
  18. Hey, what are the lineups like on Sundays at this time of year? There's a chance I might check it out this weekend...
  19. This is where I'll go to bat for the B&M hypers. Most are not forceful, but the seating allows for a very free-feeling experience. Same goes for the B&M Inverts.
