  1. 1. Beast (7359 ft) 2. Fury 325 (6602 ft) 3. Millennium Force (6595 ft) 4. California Screamin' (6072 ft) 5. Desperado (5843 ft) I'd really love to get Voyage on that list sometime soon!
  2. ^If both Carowinds and Kennywood get Mack multi-launchers in 2019, I will be a VERY happy camper!
  3. Quoting this because I pretty much have the same questions! Although I'll be there on Monday July 23. Also, is Vertical Velocity open? Any chance it will be open late next month? I'm not holding my breath since I know that thing is down all the time, but I'd like to ride it when I'm there.
  4. Completely random question: Does anyone know what happened to the Boomerang? It has been completely gone for a year now. Any word on where it went after being refurbished in Europe?
  5. If you have the flexibility to visit SFMM anytime between the 20th and 29th, I would definitely recommend NOT going on the weekend. It's summer and schools are out, so no day is going to be light, but Saturdays and even Sundays can be horrific during the summer, and Six Flags isn't the best at handling large crowds very well. And I would say at least 1.5 days at the park is necessary if this is your first time and you want to ride everything and have re-rides. So whatever weekday(s) work for you, but I would avoid the park like the plague on the weekend if possible. You will have a much better time. As for rides, I'm sure you're aware of all the big ones, so of course get on those. Rides like Batman and Ninja often get flown under the radar, so be sure not to miss those. I really like Viper, but others don't, so that's up to your tastes. Riddler's Revenge is unlike most stand-up coasters and is actually super fun and enjoyable, but I would recommend sitting on one of the inner two seats rather than the outer seats for a smoother ride. The heartline of the inversions is so much better in those seats. Try Twisted Colossus both in the back and the front. They're both great and offer different experiences. But of course, RMCs are good in any seat, so it's all up to you. Lex Luthor is also a great drop tower. I haven't done it with VR, but regardless it's a really good ride. As for food, I really like Food, Etc. (between Superman and Goliath). They have a lot of options and the food is pretty decent. But keep in mind this place gets PACKED so I would recommended eating in off-peak times, and going on a weekday should help a little too. I'm not sure if you have the meal plan, but there are lots of options for that here as well, plus meals for those with dietary restrictions and intolerances and what not. Other than that, I would say to keep your expectations fairly minimal outside the coasters. The park has great rides with lots of variety, but they lack in pretty much every other area. Not trying to ruin your experience (I still LOVE this place), but I think it's important to manage expectations when first visiting this park. Hope you have fun!
  6. Officially booked hotels for our first NorCal trip next month. Super stoked for Railblazer and Gold Striker. I assume a Wednesday in late July will have fairly manageable crowds? Besides Railblazer, of course.
  7. Looks great. I like the 9-car trains - that's definitely unique for an inverted coaster.
  8. This looks fantastic! I have pretty much avoided making any B&Ms in Planet Coaster because their style is so incredibly difficult to recreate, but you did a very good job with the shaping on Goliath! I really love your ride collection and layout of the park too.
  9. Honestly, you may not be too far off! Sounds about right to me.
  10. No. It is most similar, almost identical, to the ones going in at Six Flags parks (Riddler at SFOT, Wonder Woman at SFDK, Harley Quinn at SFNE), however I believe this one is slightly bigger so SFMM can claim the record of having the largest.
  11. Showed up for me! So much better, wow. Thank you! I wasn't expecting this to happen while you were still in Japan! Much appreciated.
  12. Screamin' Swings are amazing flat rides, so if this is true that would be a great addition to an already great park. Considering they have received 3 coasters in the last 6 years, a large flat like this is perfect IMO.
  13. Sweet. I'm not gonna lie, I am a little surprised Cedar Fair is building another B&M Dive that's just as big (at the minimum) or bigger than Valravn. Usually they're not the ones to steal their own records in such short time, especially from a ride at Cedar Point. I'm really hoping this thing has 10-across seating with regular restraints, but this is Cedar Fair so there is about a 0% chance of that happening. But I can dream.
  14. Oh my goodness. Hopefully everyone is alright. It really saddens me when things like this happen since it's completely out of the riders' control and should never occur in the first place.
  15. I still haven't ridden a Sky Rocket II (I will ride both Electric Eel and Superman for the first time next month), but these look like great rides that give parks a lot of bang for their buck. And like another poster said, these Sky Rockets will be very spread out. NorCal, SoCal, New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Florida. Now we just need to get a park like Worlds of Fun get one!
  16. Great report! I pretty much agree with all of your opinions on the rides, except maybe Nighthawk Afterburn is definitely my favorite "classic" B&M Invert as well, and I say that because I also love Banshee but for different reasons. Carowinds really has an amazing top 3 and the new Mack next year solidifies that even more.
  17. Yes!!! LOVE that color scheme on RMCs. Can't wait to see a layout.
  18. At least when it comes to Knott's, I have always been way more bothered by the extremely excessive number of people who use the exit to ride GhostRider for whatever reason. If one or two people have a disability and use the system, I totally get that. No issue. It's when they bring along their 12 family members who are more than capable of standing in line like everyone else. That's what drives me nuts. I've seen times where an exit group fills half the train or more. And the weirdest thing is it's ONLY GhostRider... no other coaster in the park has nearly as many of these people. As for line jumping, I agree with Coasterbill and Boldikus. Sometimes it's just not worth the fight.
  19. Thank you so much for sharing. I completely forgot the park has one of the few operating Arrow shuttle loops out there (this, the one at Elitch, and the one at Blackpool - is that it?). I'm very interested to see how the park changes, for better or for worse, under Six Flags.
  20. it would be interesting to see the costs. a park like CP is what, 3-4 times the size of knott's. so i'm sure CP's costs are incredibly high during the season. 2x, 3x more than knott's? so i honestly am not sure how different their yearly costs really are or not. And don't forget that just because a park like Cedar Point doesn't operate for 6 months of the year doesn't mean they are sitting back and relaxing all winter. I'm sure maintaining all 398573945 of their roller coasters cannot be cheap.
  21. ^I don't think it has anything to do with earthquakes because Wonder Woman at SFDK is also in a very seismic zone and is built just like all the others.
  22. Does anyone care about this "trilogy" besides enthusiasts? I don't think the park would go with a terrible name like Ziz just for the sake of completing a trilogy. Leviathan and Behemoth are great names but Ziz just sounds hilariously dumb IMO.
  23. ^Makes sense, especially Six Flags New England. Out of the parks I've been to, I would say that one is by far the most polarized. They have two absolutely amazing coasters (WC, Superman) and three total pieces of crap (Flashback, Goliath, and Mind Eraser pre-2017). Carowinds is very similar as well.
  24. Isn't it a custom build, since it is marketed as the "tallest" frisbee? I'm sure that's the reason, sorta like how the mega super loop at SGFAm is a little bulkier.
