Bingo. Since the ride doesn't have a MCBR, running three trains is useless unless trains are disaptched at their very minimum interval. It is next to impossible to run 3 trains on MCBR-less coasters without at least one stacking. See: HangTime, Banshee. I think only Fury can get away with it since it has a freakishly huge lift hill.

My guess is it may simply have a race "theme" rather than literally be a racing/dueling coaster like TC. I actually like the name "Adrenaline Alley" for the area. Not as enthusiastic about West Coaster Racer, but if it turns out to be a huge kicka$$ coaster of some sort, I won't care what they name it really.

^Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I took a few screenshots as well just to portray how much of a difference it is between the flat rides and coasters. This is my Intamin Hyper (Skyrush/Hyperion style) and the queue is absolutely packed. I picked a peep and opened the first person camera and waited in line, and I timed it to be about 18 minutes. This is a very-long GCI woodie that runs three trains, and this line is longer but moves a tad faster since it has better capacity than the Intamin. I timed this line to be about 15 minutes. On the other hand, here is one of my flat rides. This Gerstlauer Sky Fly is actually one of the few flat rides where you can actually get two green ratings on, and I have one in another park that people flood to, but I don't know why this one is totally empty all the time. And another flat ride, again one of them that you can avoid red ratings on. It also has a 100% themed queue line. Absolutely no queue, and never more than one or two people riding. I really need to figure out what the algorithm is and work around that as best I can. I guess there is a good and a bad with having really smart peeps on PC. The ones on RCT3 are complete idiots and will flood to almost any ride.

^You will love it. I've been playing RCT3 since the day it came out in 2004, so it was pretty hard for me to transition, but I have been playing solely Planet Coaster for a few months now, getting the hang of everything, and I don't miss RCT3 at all. The coaster building on Planet Coaster is superb. Although I do still have issues here and there, and I was wondering if somebody could answer a question I have. I recently built a brand new park, with three major roller coasters (all with across-the-board green ratings for excitement, fear, and nausea), along with 5 or 6 flat rides that also have pretty great ratings (no reds and at least one green). Why is it that people are FLOODING to my three roller coasters (completely full queues), but nobody is touching the flat rides at all? Every ride in the park has at least 80% queue/ride scenery rating, and they all have favorable ratings that aren't too nauseous, scary, etc. Why is this? It's driving me nuts. I built this decent sized park with lots of theming and scenery at EVERY ride, and the roller coasters are great but the flat rides are completely empty, maybe one or two people here and there (some not even that much) and that's it. I'm on Sandbox mode, so I made all my rides free since I'm not worried about a profit. Why are people completely ignoring every flat except for the three coasters?

After seeing that map, things got much more exciting for me. This is definitely a new major coaster, and if it turns out to be a DC-Rivals style Mack Hyper like rumored, count me in! 2018 was an amazing year for coasters but 2019 isn't looking too shabby either. The "all but confirmed" ones are SFMM, Carowinds, and Kennywood along with the Nick Universe park in NJ, whatever is going in at Dollywood, and a few others I'm probably missing. Exciting times.

I totally agree that Beast is WAY better at night. Come to think of it, every major coaster at Kings Island gives fantastic night rides. A few others that come to mind are GhostRider, X2, and Viper (SFMM). I can't really explain why the latter two are, but I guess every coaster is just more fun at night. With that being said, I'm not sure I can think of a coaster that is actually better during the day. Some are kinda indifferent where day or night doesn't make a big difference, but I can't imagine why a coaster would be better during the day rather than at night.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

Thanks for sharing photos. I honestly feel like we flashed back to 2015 and I'm looking at Valravn construction pics. The colors and track pieces themselves look very, very similar. -
Carowinds Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Very excited for this new coaster, whatever it may be. Carowinds' top three is already really solid and a fourth major coaster is exactly what the park needed. -
Update: I did indeed ride Mystic Timbers last summer. 2018: I will be hitting all four new for 2018 California coasters (yes I'm counting Harley Quinn since it's on RCDB) in ONE WEEK later this July. HangTime on July 20, Harley Quinn on July 23, Railblazer on July 25, and Electric Eel on July 27. This will be the most "debut coasters" I've hit in one year!

They're basically just impostor log flumes that get you wet like a rapids ride. Basically the worst kind of dry park water ride imaginable unless they have noteworthy theming or a double down or something Not to mention they take up quite a bit of space with their splash pools and everything. I think removing Perilous Plunge was one of the best decision Knott's ever made. Unless they're water coasters (like at SeaWorld) or highly themed (BGW), I've never cared for the rides.

Worst Arrow coaster
thrillseeker4552 replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like to think I've learned how to defensively ride Arrow coasters, so none stick out to me as extraordinarily bad. But if I had to pick one, I would say Anaconda because the layout is just so awkward and it has terrible pacing. It's really not that rough though, for me at least. On the contrary, Viper, X2, and Magnum are definitely my favorites. -
I would usually say to watch out for 4th of July crowds, but since that's on a Wednesday this year I really have no idea what crowds will be like the Monday and Tuesday before since "4th of July Weekend" is ambiguous this year. GhostRider, HangTime, and Xcelerator will have the longest lines, and GhostRider's will probably move the slowest. As long as Silver Bullet is running two trains (which I think is a very safe assumption this time of year), even a long-ish line will move pretty quickly. This is definitely not true with Xcel and GR. I can't really speak for HangTime since I haven't been since it opened. My best advice, and I think most people would agree, would be to get there before opening and go straight to GhostRider and hit it super early before the line fills up, but since you will be arriving in the afternoon, you may just need to brave the lines unfortunately. Knott's gets crazy busy around this time, holiday or not. For food, aside from the BBQ (which is my personal favorite at the park, even above the chicken dinner restaurant), there is some decent Mexican food options in Fiesta Village as well as a Ghost Town Grill in, well, Ghost Town. And of course there is Coasters Diner if you're into basic theme parks stuff like burgers or chicken tenders. The new BBQ restaurant is the only food in the park that really stands out to me as "above average." EDIT: Oh, and for Boysenberry, they offer the punch year-round and you can purchase BBQ, butter, etc. in the shops, but I *think* the only thing they offer at food service places is the punch and maybe a flavored ICEE as well. Someone else will have to fact check me on that.

That I have ridden... California: Twisted Colossus, unless Railblazer completely blows me away when I ride it next month. Florida: Expedition Everest (I only went to Disney, haven't been to SWO, Universal, or BGT). Maryland: Superman: Ride of Steel Massachusetts: Wicked Cyclone Nevada: El Loco New Jersey: El Toro North Carolina: Fury 325 Ohio: Maverick (haven't ridden SV). Pennsylvania: Skyrush South Carolina: Intimidator, but Afterburn isn't far behind. Utah: Cannibal Virginia: Intimidator 305

Least Favorite B&M?
thrillseeker4552 replied to thecoasterdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think I've wanted a coaster to end as much as Apocalypse at Six Flags America. Not only my least favorite B&M but probably my least favorite coaster of all time. I don't care if I ever ride it again. And to be honest, Vortex at Carowinds really isn't much better either. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

^If both Carowinds and Kennywood get Mack multi-launchers in 2019, I will be a VERY happy camper!
