Lagoon Discussion Thread
thrillseeker4552 replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^They do, but they also advertise Full Throttle as the tallest and fastest looping coaster in the world, and it was confirmed by the Guiness Book of World Records. That record always seemed false to me, especially after all of the coasters the posters above me mentioned. Back on topic, I REALLY hope I can ride this in 2015! We're visiting family up in Utah this summer, and the extra 2 hour drive would be totally worth it for Cannibal! -
I don't know why it hasn't been done yet, but I would definitely like to see inversions on a hyper-sized coaster. In fact, I just designed a coaster in RCT3 that is a B&M Floorless and is 218 feet, featuring a 147-foot cobra roll, and 122-foot vertical loop, an 80-foot loop, and interlocking corkscrews, as well as many airtime hills. One day my ideas will become a reality!

Wow, I forgot about all of those coasters! Then why the heck does SFMM advertise Full Throttle has the tallest and fastest looping coaster? That's bull crap! -

I just thought of something. If this roller coaster is 208 feet tall, can't it be classified as the tallest looping roller coaster in the world? And shares the same speed as Viper and Full Throttle, so maybe not the fastest. But this is he first roller coaster to have an inversion and be over 200 feet, right? -
I know Knott's is busy on New Year's Eve, but are the lines for rides somewhat manageable? My family is debating about getting FastLane, and while it would greatly improve our experience, we don't want to buy it unless it is truly unbearable. And is Silver Bullet running two trains? The line for that ride is so much more tolerable if both trains are running.

I love how they created that funky 91-degree transition into the drop. It's not something B&M normally does...but that's a good thing! -

Looks great! This is what B&M Wing Coasters need to be like! I especially liked the snappy transitions you included near the end of the ride! Again, great job! And I'll assume it's not a coincidence that the song in the video is Taylor Swift. -

Will B&M ever top the charts?
thrillseeker4552 replied to Password121's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From the look of things, I don't think B&M will ever "top the charts" again, but that doesn't mean they won't do well as a business. 5 years ago, B&M strictly had 7 types of coasters. They have since expanded their product line, introducing the wing coaster, the launch coaster, the family coaster, and who knows...maybe we'll see a wooden coaster one day. They will definitely do well with parks for many more years to come. -

Eejanaika Changes Colour

^Eejanaika is a newer roller coaster, but X2 has newer trains since it got transformed in 2008. -
What's Your Coaster Philosophy?
thrillseeker4552 replied to Coaster Cow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Personally, I like to have a good balance of everything. Parks like Disneyland are fun and all, but I tend to just get uninterested. Yes, the theming is excellent and the park is well kept with great employees, but I guess that doesn't buy it for me. On the other hand, parks like Six Flags that are "roller coasters and roller coasters only" occasionally get tedious because there is literally nothing else to do, other than eat an overpriced piece of semi-decent food. As a happy medium, I love parks like Knott's and Cedar Point (or any large Cedar Fair park for that matter). The rides are solid and enjoyable, while at the same time there is a decent selection of flats, shows, and other entertainment. My family (who aren't all huge coaster nerds) had an absolute BLAST at Kings Island and Cedar Point last summer. My 9-year-old sister had plenty to do with my mom (who doesn't ride coasters), while my older siblings, my dad, and myself were greatly entertained by the big rides. For some reason, I don't think we could have had that same experience at any Disney park. I love all theme parks and roller coasters. They're my passion. And for that reason, I enjoy having a blend of all the positive things people like in a park: entertainment, flat rides, family rides, roller coasters, food, and overall, just a good experience of all aspects. -
Eejanaika Changes Colour
thrillseeker4552 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So if X2 and Dinoconda are generally rated pretty high in the coaster world, why is Eejanaika so bad? Is it just the fact it's at Fuji-Q? Is it the trains? I'm curious about what makes this ride so bad. -
Tallest coaster you've been on.

I may have posted in this thread already, but what the heck. Steel: 1. Top Thrill Dragster (CP) - 420 feet 2. Superman: Escape from Krypton (SFMM) - 380-390 feet 3. Millennium Force (CP) - 310 feet Wood: 1. Mean Streak (CP) - 161 feet 2. Colossus (SFMM) - 125 feet 3. Ghost Rider (KBF) - 118 feet -
