  1. Um... the top gun stall is a zero-g stall. They just call it a top gun stall to be all fancy and what not (at least I believe so).
  2. Looks great! It's nice to see an inversion on a dive coaster that's not an immelmann. And that Intamin drop tower is so cute! I wanna give it a hug and tuck it into bed with a warm cozy blanket
  3. It's going to be packed. I went on the Monday before Christmas last year and it was so busy the park had to extend hours. All the major coasters were 60+ minute waits, and even the second tier coasters had mostly full queues (that's the only time I've ever seen the lower area in use on Gold Rusher). In the whole day we only managed to do six coasters (YOLOcoaster, Batman, Apocalypse, Tatsu, Riddler, and Goliath) plus Lex Luthor. If you want to go one of those days, a Flash Pass will be required in order to do everything. also, it's also bring a friend for free Mon, Tue, Wed. i know i went last year and can't remember how it was. or i went when they had the snow globe you could take a picture in. was that last year? Well I'm glad I asked. Thanks guys. We decided not to go, and plan to go sometime after New Years.
  4. Does anyone have an idea about the crowds for this week? It is possible that my family will be visiting either this Tuesday (23) or Friday (26). Is the week of Christmas a busy time for them?
  5. Man, you really like those coasters, don't you? As for a Gwazi replacement, I vote for anything Intamin. BGT has the best B&M line-up ever, and a newer B&M would be overshadowed by the awesome old-school B&M goodness the park already has to offer. I know this is constantly used to joke around, but I legitimately think an AquaTrax would be a nice addition with some cool theming.
  6. You know, I have always wondered why. Why are designers staying away from inversions, or even a single inversion, on hyper/giga coasters? Designing a ride 325 feet tall with plenty of inversion sounds like tons of fun (and can be equally safe)!
  7. ^I'm still in shock that California is getting an awesome airtime-machine. I'm really hoping Twisted Colossus will beat out Maverick for my number 1 coaster. It'll be my first RMC!
  8. I just finished all nine seasons of "How I Met Your Mother". Anyone else want to comment on the ending...
  9. I love how Twisted Colossus is totally dwarfed by Goliath, yet it will easily become the best ride in the park. With the pace they're moving at, it looks SFMM might actually open this in Spring like they promised for the majority of their previous attractions that turned out not opening until June/July.
  10. I'm going to rephrase this. You know you're a Six Flags park if you tear down an old, rickety, unpopular wooden coaster with a totally kick-a** RMC hybrid coaster that will be much more popular and a much better ride. Being a Six Flags park doesn't necessarily ALWAYS have to be a bad thing
  11. Being from SoCal, I've always wondered how to pronounce Knoebels. Is it "Kah-no-bowls" or "No-bells" In other words, do you pronounce the "k"?
  12. Complete 100% false! The person below me plays some type of musical instrument.
  13. I've always had a large fear of roller coasters. Then I turned 5.
  14. Saturn Returns - Michael Markowski I'm really in to orchestral/wind ensemble music.
  15. They both have/had old classic wooden coasters. Six Flags St. Louis and Darien Lake
  16. I agree with this. SFGAv has such a great line-up. Living in SoCal, I'd be VERY thankful to have Kingda Ka, El Toro, Nitro, Superman, Zumanjaro, and a few others all at my home park. But then again, Twisted Colossus is coming to me next year and it has got to be the best thing California has received since X2!
  17. I like B&M's pre-drops for curving drops, but for straight drops, I prefer the look without it (basically all hypers except AC and RB).
  18. I'm fairly confident that Pony Express is staying for a while. Yes, the ride isn't all that great, but it's very popular with families and the theme/placement of the ride is great. Boomerang will definitely go first, I believe.
  19. Nice report! Out of curiosity, what's the exact day you visited? I marched down main street with my high school marching band on Friday the 5th. It was definitely a cool experience!
  20. ^In the case of Thunderbird, if a roll back occurs, I'm sure it will safely roll back and re-launch. However, for rides like Montezooma's Revenge and Pony Express (which, correct me if I'm wrong, are flywheel launches), rollbacks are definitely possible and a little less "reliable" to slow a train down (like the Pony Express accident).
  21. ^^SFMM would still figure out a way to make the capacity/operations suck Not that this would ever happen, but it would be really interesting to watch the pacing of a roller coaster that has a 36-car-long train!
  22. Pony Express at Knott's rolled back a few years ago and ended up crashing into the other train in the station due to a brake failure, so I say it's definitely possible.
  23. I actually like Scream's current colors quite a bit. As long as it gets a fresh coat of paint, some maintenance (it's quite rough), and possible theming/decorations, I'm happy. Plus, TC is the star of the show anyway.
  24. I have never greyed out or blacked out on any ride ever, and I've been on several intense coasters like Maverick, Montezooma's Revenge, Goliath, etc.
