Walibi Holland Discussion Thread

Now that you mention it, a water coaster seems like the most accurate guess. I completely forgot that they have an Intamin hyper already (not that a Mack mega coaster wouldn't suffice, but realistically, how can it beat Goliath?). -

A spinning coaster seems possible, but I'd be even more thrilled to see a launch/mega coaster. The world needs more of those! The best trains/restraints in the industry. -

Game: When was the last time you...

Last night. When was the last time you rode a coaster that beat the absolute crap out of you? -
^Is this going to be your first time at Knott's? I'll assume it will be. It'll be a Wednesday during Haunt season, so crowds should be very minimal during the day. I heard that Silver Bullet is now running two trains again (there is hardly ever a line when they run two trains). In my opinion, you should definitely ride the big three: Silver Bullet (it gets a lot more crap than it deserves), GhostRider (yes, it's rough, but it's balls out insane), and Xcelerator (obvious reasons). I would also highly recommend Montezooma's (it's sort of the "hidden gem" in the park) and Sierra Sidewinder (the best family coaster I've ridden). If you like average family coasters and want the credits, hit up Coast Rider, Jaguar, and Pony Express. None of them are particularly "thrilling", but still enjoyable. As for flats, Supreme Scream is definitely the best, but I also enjoy Riptide too. Screamin' Swing is fun if you're willing to fork out $5, and Windseeker is also...wait, nevermind. And if you have the time and money, I would also suggest the Chicken Dinner Restaurant for lunch/dinner. Those home-made biscuits are to die for. EDIT: I would also like to add that Boomerang sucks. A lot. If you want the credit, go for it, but if you don't care too much, I would definitely skip it.

I think Fury 325 will be great. I would be THRILLED to have it at my home park. And personally, I wouldn't want it to be super duper intense. We're riding roller coasters for fun, not training to be an astronaut. -

Does being in the band count? If so, then 4 hours ago...at rehearsal. When was the last time you heard "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel? -
At marching band rehearsals, if we make a mistake/don't quite understand something, the band director calls us over and yells at us for wasting his time by making lots of mistakes, when in reality, him calling us over and yelling at us is wasting time. Also, when teachers are all anal about phones going off in class. They go off on a big rant about how it is a distraction to the classroom, when in reality, the teacher giving that huge rant about it being a distraction is really a distraction. Hypocrites. EDIT: I would also like to add that marching band is a VERY UNDERRATED sport. I don't think people recognize how hard it really is! You have to play memorized music...with good tone quality...while marching to a certain spot on the field for 7 minutes straight...while keeping your feet in time...while doing visuals/dancing on holds/pauses. Take a look on Youtube of a good marching band...it's not easy!

I wouldn't exactly call this an RMC makeover, but I hope GhostRider gets a serious, quality re-tracking done, like Thunder Run. Making the ride more tolerable for the average guest could potentially put the ride as the best in the park. I know Knott's is doing some standard re-tracking, but the ride experience has pretty much been the same for the last couple years. IT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT! The layout is FANTASTIC although it beats the living crap out of you.

If Cedar Point is painting this much so far ahead of time, I would definitely expect some theming to go up in and around the ride. I doubt it will take them 8 more months just to plop on floorless trains and modify the station. -

Hopefully Rougarou will bring the crowds Cedar Point hopes to have. 2014 was far from their best year...and nothing about Rougarou is truly "groundbreaking". -
