  1. If I'm with my siblings or friends, we talk to pass time. If I'm more or less alone, I browse Twitter, Instagram, or TPR forums. I'll occasionally play games, too, but I'm not a huge mobile gamer.
  2. Assuming this "straight track" is a block brake, that would make sense, as it would allow the blue and green side to disengage from the lift hill at the same time. If it goes straight in to a second chain lift (as the video shows), it seems that the green side would always have to go down the drop first since there is no block between the first lift and second lift. Sorry if that sounds confusing, but if it does end up being a straight section of track, this could be it. What I'm wondering about is why they didn't put it in the video. As we've seen from the past, RMC promo videos are nearly identical track-layout-wise to the real thing. Although nothing is really credible until we see some better, closer-up photos.
  3. That first picture is awesome! Thunderbird is looking really good. Can't wait to see testing.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is going to be the 230-foot version, right? I know Six Flags has installed a number of different heights for their Sky Screamers, anywhere from the 150-foot one at SFDK to the 400-foot ones at SFOT and SFNE.
  5. Oh, California. You're 41 degrees and foggy in the morning, and 75 degrees and sunny mid-day. Make up your mind! Oh, and the part of SoCal where I live got snow for the first time in about a decade, and it was hot the next week, and raining the week after. California in a nutshell.
  6. Both are equally bad, but I'd have to say the front door. Classic B&M Hyper trains, or V-trains?
  7. ...there was an accident on Millennium Thing, and all of the riders got ejected out of the train. Because of this, the ride got new trains with individual seat belts, a 5 point harness, a lap bar, a shoulder harness, and an interlocking belt connecting the lap bar and the shoulder harness. Because of these really complicated restrains, the capacity was horrific, so the park replaced all the good airtime hills with block brakes so they could run 10 trains. Because of this...
  8. At one point, they both had a purple and green Vekoma Boomerang. Six Flags Fiesta Texas and California's Great America
  9. Yes, a couple times, but I don't particularly like it. The person below me is a musician/plays an instrument.
  10. It really bothers me when people on the forum put ^^^^^ when they're talking about the poster above them. There is a difference between ^, ^^, and ^^^. Come on, use it correctly! Or just quote the post! It makes it quite confusing to read.
  11. That rendering does seem a little "unfinished", but that doesn't matter to me. I'm sure this ride will be GREAT! Hopefully I'll get to go on opening day--or at least very close to it. Also, my 1000th post!
  12. I REALLY hope Banshee never gets turned backwards. I vote that we leave the gimmicky backwards stuff to Six Flags.
  13. Actually, if you ask me, I have generally noticed much improved customer service. Sure, there's always an exception or two, but on the whole... I think it has gotten better. Yeah, I guess so. I just thought it was hilarious that they have t-shirts, because most parks with excellent customer service (Disney parks, a couple of the Cedar Fair ones I've been to) are much more humble about having good customer service. Only Six Flags would make a t-shirt for it and "brag" about it when, while they're improving, there isn't much to brag about.
  14. ^That's exactly what I was thinking! Hopefully they do much better here. I'm sure the B&M will look great next to the water (not that B&Ms need water to looks great!)!
  15. ^LOL Record-breaking guest service??? Their standards must be pretty low! Nonetheless, great report. Twisted Colossus is really taking shape!
  16. Wow, it has magnetic brakes and everything! Very impressive! Cool layout, too.
  17. I love how all of these coasters are crappy knock-offs (the boomerang, SLC, mine train?), yet there is a super awesome huge Mack coaster going in! Oh, China! So is it confirmed that it will have the world's largest loop?
  18. ^At least they will only have one wooden coaster to worry about now. Ah, who am I kidding, it still probably won't get better!
  19. My home park, Knott's, definitely has lost its luster over the years. Story time. My first trip to Knott's that I can remember was when I was about 4 years old (11 years ago). Back then, I was so mesmerized by all the big roller coasters, and Silver Bullet was under construction at the time. The problem was that I couldn't ride hardly any rides because I was a very short 4-year-old. I was still too short for Jaguar and Montezooma's (obviously), and a couple of the flat rides that I was willing to ride wouldn't let me ride unless I was with an adult, and my mom can't ride rides without getting sick, so all in all I was stuck with Camp Snoopy (I was a thrill-seeking 4-year-old). At the time, I couldn't wait to ride all the big roller coasters. But as the years went by, and I got taller and taller, and I eventually ended up riding all the big coasters there by the time I was about 10. Now, being 15, and being a season pass holder every years since 2004, Knott's has definitely lost its "excitement". I still love to visit, but I am content after 3-4 hours. It just doesn't have the same "thrill" anymore. My family still renews our passes every year, because we visit often enough throughout the year to justify getting one, but lately, I've been way more interested in visiting SFMM (especially this summer, fall, winter...whenever TC opens!). I am not bashing Knott's, because it is a GREAT park that has made significant improvement over the years, but after visiting the park many times a year, for 11 years, it just isn't the same anymore on a personal level.
  20. Considering that Knott's is my home park, and I have ridden Silver Bullet MANY times, this is a really neat model! Good job! Out of curiosity, do you re-use all of your pieces? If not, where do you buy them? I really want to get my hand on a new kit, but CD is always out of stock.
  21. I second this. I went to DC for a marching band trip last May and Ben's Chili Bowl is AMAZING! But there are plenty of places to eat in and around DC.
  22. ^Considering that we haven't seen any track pieces and/or cars, it seems a little optimistic that it will open in only 2-2 1/2 months. But nonetheless, Knott's is fairly reliable with their opening dates. Guess we'll have to wait and see. While this isn't the most exciting ride coming to SoCal in 2015, I'm really looking forward to how Knott's will improve the whole area back there.
  23. It's good to hear that the baby is okay. On the other hand, I have nothing to say about that couple... They must have really needed a peak at the Fury 325 construction
  24. Yesterday. Ate lunch at school. When was the last time you ate food that made you sick?
  25. Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's. It's just so forceful and fun. I could marathon it all day.
