Same rating here. I thought it would be lower considering I still have a few major parks to hit. Yeah, apparently not a lot of people have been on very many wooden coasters. I was suprised it was that high, since I don't go looking for new "credits" (the whole idea seems dumb to me), but instead focus on going to the best parks. I'm visiting 2 parks this year that I love yet (gasp) have built no new coasters since my last visit 2 years ago!

Operations are on par with Worlds of Fun. -
All right, I'm about to ask about lines and operations at Dorney, but wait--it's not what you think! This is all about Wildwater Kingdom! I'm targeting a Thursday in late August, and Dorney's open 10-8, while Wildwater Kingdom is open 11-6. So the plan is to be at each park at opening. I love waterparks and would like to do everything at WWK, but bail early enough that I can ride what I want at Dorney before 6 so i don't run into waterpark guests wondering what the hell this Dorney Park is and has it been here this whole time? Specifically I want to know: - What is the best use of my first hour? Wild Mouse? Possessed? - Aquablast says minimum 2. I'll be solo. Any issues being paired? - Is there a particular order I should do the slides? Any waterslide that tends to get a long line? Thanks!

I'd look into the Uber, honestly. I have done public transport to Six Flags, and it's a journey. You'll need to take Metra to Waukegan, then transfer to a bus. Metra is similar to LIRR, big passenger trains. It takes over an hour from Chicago to Waukegan, and then about another half hour on the bus. If all goes well, the bus will be waiting for you when you get off the train in Waukegan, but in my experience, delays can and do happen. I left downtown about 4:30 AM to make it to the park by 10:00, and I still just barely made it. So look into that Uber.

Valleyfair! is very similar to Worlds of Fun, minus any theming. I went on a Wednesday in late July, and crowds were very manageable. The two big rides are Wild Thing and Renegade, which are similar to Mamba and Prowler, respectively. However, their waterpark is much, much smaller than Oceans of Fun, so it doesn't draw people away from the dry park nearly as well. I'd suggest hitting Steel Venom right at opening, as it's low capacity, and also unlike anything at Worlds of Fun. As for flats, make sure you ride Xtreme Swing and Northern Lights--both very fun, and Worlds of Fun doesn't have anything like those. Power Tower isn't as good as Detonator; it's taller, but because of that, it doesn't have the airtime that Detonator does. Have fun! -
Grilled corn on the cob, no contest (Not BBQ--that term is reserved for meats slow cooked for at least a day at low temperature). Memphis style or KC style? (And yes, there is a correct answer)

Yes, I had some today. Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?

Pink's is good. They have a very limited selection compared to the Hollywood original, but I enjoyed what they had. -

That was clearly a Hamilton reference, but yeah, make it about drinking. Anyway, frozen's okay, if you can't get the fresh stuff. Will you give it up for America's favourite fighting Frenchman?

Around where I live, Chinese. But in Texas or California, Mexican. Blue or green?

That's fun. 28/100 for me, really just the ones in the Midwest and in L.A. But with Dollywood and PA/NJ coming up this year, going to ride a lot more! -
Glad you're coming down! The two parks are quite different; the only coaster they both have is Batman, and ours is a mirror image of the one in Chicago, so it even feels a bit different. I haven't been on Justice League in Chicago, but I would expect it's identical and therefore skippable. I would also recommend skipping Boomerang and Ninja. They're just not good, and your time is better spent on other rides. I wouldn't expect huge crowds that weekend. The waterpark is a big draw, so attendance is low until it opens. If crowds are larger than usual, get a Flash Pass; otherwise, don't worry. I tell people to start with American Thunder and work your way around clockwise. That puts some of the lower capacity rides like American Thunder and Pandemonium early in your day. As for flats, if you like spinning or flipping rides, don't miss Excalibur. It's a nearly unique flat. Sky Screamer is really good too. Don't worry if Superman is down; Great America's drop tower is better (and ours is down a lot). Have fun! Justice League in St Louis is not identical to Chicago. The screens are the same, but the practical stuff is somewhat different, and the path the cars follow is different. The overall effect is not exactly the same. Okay, fair enough. Then I amend my recommendation to say Justice League first, then American Thunder and proceed as described previously.

Their weather policy is ridiculously awesome. There was one day it was drizzling most of the day, so Powder Keg was down, and as we were leaving, right at the entrance to Ozark Marketplace, an employee stopped us and asked if we had gotten to do everything we wanted. We said, just to be honest, not really, Powder Keg was down, but it was okay. He said, are you sure, you could stop by guest services. I declined, since we had season passes, and he just said thanks and let us go. I share this to show that their level of service isn't just in the event someone complains. They don't wait for that; they're proactive in encouraging people to get those return tickets on bad weather days. I've never seen any other company--not just any other theme park but any other business in general--do what SDC does for customer satisfaction.
