  1. ^ There's a couple in Sandusky, and a Google Maps search shows if you go Highway 2 rather than the Ohio Turnpike, there are several along the way. Can't vouch for the authenticity of Google Maps, as I came from the west rather than from Cleveland, but I can vouch for the location on Perkins Road in Sandusky. It's in the same building as a gas station.
  2. 10/10 Love Screamin' Swings, one of my absolute favourite flats. Moana
  3. It's the best stand up I've ever been on, at least. Have you seen at least one movie that won an Oscar this year?
  4. Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure last June. Great coaster! When was the last time you saw snow?
  5. Uh...you do realize that the Twin Cities are practically on the border of Wisconsin? There's no need to fly at all. Renegade is awesome, and my personal favourite at Valleyfair! I'd say stay a second day in the Twin Cities and visit the Mall of America. SpongeBob is worth the trip all by itself, and since I'm assuming you haven't been to the Twin Cities since Renegade's opening, SpongeBob will be new to you too.
  6. Silver Dollar City: 1. Wildfire - Fake rust FTW! 2. Powder Keg - Same kind of rusty brown as Wildfire, but with a classy white track 3. Thunderation - Rusty metal tracks on brown wood supports 4. Outlaw Run - Brown track on brown wood supports 5. Grand Exposition Coaster - Classy dark green! 6. Fire in the Hole - I honestly have no idea what colour the track is. As many times as I've ridden it, I've never bothered to find out.
  7. The ride really fits the Joker theme. I am not a fan of flipping rides at all, but I braved X2, and I'm actually finding myself looking forward to riding Joker this year. Go figure.
  8. I laughed so hard at this! Thank you so much!
  9. Yes, 2 in fact, Diamondback at Kings Island and Wildfire at Silver Dollar City. They may not be the most extreme coasters in their genre, but the are the most fun to me, and that's what I base my list on. And Bill, you will love Cedar Point. I totally understand the "overdue bucket list" item; that's very much what it was to me last year. Enjoy the hell out of that park! Have you been part of any Indivisible protests?
  10. So I'm not one to look for every bit of information; I was really content to wait for May to see construction photos, but the last few pages of discussion got me curious. It looks to me like the unholy union of Storm Chaser's barrel roll drop and Outlaw Run's second hill, and I couldn't be happier.
  11. DC gave the licence to use their trademark "Catwoman" but not to make it possessive. It's their trademark, and they can use it how they like.
  12. ^ I got to meet and have lunch with Yakov a few years ago. Really nice, really intelligent guy. If you only know him from his jokes, you don't know him. The breadth of his experience has given him a balance of perspectives between growing up in Ukraine with nothing and coming to America and seeing how we have too much. Happiness lies between the two extremes, and that has formed his core values and the core of his comedy.
  13. ^ I certainly do hope so. After riding T3 and Thunderhawk on the same trip last year, I got to experience the worst and the best of the SLC's. If you've never been to Michigan's Adventure you won't believe me but their SLC is actually really good. The SLC layout has a lot of potential, and as long as there's no shuffling, it's fun.
  14. ^ No worries, there's a lot you don't know until you've used one. It's not going to be transferrable. The technology is really very simple. It only knows how many people are on a reservation, not who those people are. However, you also get a wristband, and you can't take it off or you invalidate the benefits. Six Flags doesn't want people paying regular Flash Pass prices and receiving Platinum Pass benefits, and I don't blame them. I would be upset if I bought a very expensive Platinum Flash Pass, and then someone who paid a third of what I did got the same benefits. As for meeting up, that's not a problem. The Flash Pass will tell you before you reserve how long the wait will be. If the line is 60 minutes, then the regular Flash Pass will say 60 minutes and the Platinum will say 6 minutes, because it reduces by 90%. So all you have to do is make your Platinum reservation when the wait time equals the remaining time on your regular Flash Pass. Enter the Flash Pass queue together, have the ride op scan both Flash Passes, and you're riding.
  15. The first two weekends are spring break for basically all area schools. It's very crowded every day,and moreso on weekends. Summer level crowds. Start with Powder Keg, as it's the lowest capacity of all the big coasters. Outlaw Run next, then Wildfire.
  16. This. Mutter is one of the coolest museums that I have ever been to. I can see Andrew totally getting into this - because he likes weird, cool sh%t...like Mr. Bungle. Finally getting around to looking through their website...this is awesome, and it's going on the list. I'm actually thinking of bringing a tent and just camping at Hershey and Knoebels. Anybody done that?
  17. ^ Agreed. Each time I start a new park, I have to spend a couple of hours just making it not flat and bare of trees. Great update!
  18. 2010, built a beast of a machine with an Intel i7, BDROM and everything. Last desktop I ever built, and the last one I likely ever will. When was the last time you played with a yo-yo?
  19. Last month. When was the last time you downloaded a new video game?
  20. At Oceans of Fun end of August. When was the last time you rode a bicycle?
  21. New rides and stuff like that. New *gasp* rides!
  22. I have thought the same thing! And thanks for the recommendations. Noted to skip South Street--people had been saying I have to go, but good to know it's not really all that different from places near me like Branson Landing and St. Louis' Delmar Loop. That Barcade We have a place in Springfield called 1984 that's similar, but sans alcohol, so it sucks.
  23. Thanks for everyone's contributions so far! You've come up with a couple of possibilities I hadn't thought of. And yeah, I'm definitely going to Six Flags. There's no way I'm driving right past Great Adventure and not stopping for some bullriding.
